"We went for a late night dinner. The food was great, wine was good, but beware that if you order dessert, that you should really share!! Dessert portion was humongous! :)
Service was very attentive and our waiter was a pleasure to interact with. He was very professional but didn't hesitate interact and joke around with us. Would love to wait over us again when we go back. Ambiance was good too, decor was very chic but we saw quite a few people who were dressed semi-formal so it isn't an uptight place (although it should be). Good place for to dine in small groups."

"I had the roast beef and it was too salty to eat. I sent it back and it was returned. The server said they had "scraped" off the salt. It was barely edible. This was very disappointing and I'm not sure I'll ever return to Moishe's."

"This was my first time at Moishes and it did not disappoint in any way. I did get a 'junior' steak, the others were just too large for me, and I even then it was a generous size. I did not think I would eat the whole thing, but it was so perfectly done, that I ate it all. Our sommelier was fabulous, he recommended a most beautiful bottle of wine. All the reviews that say the pickles and coleslaw are wonderful do not lie! I would not hesitate to go back or recommend to anyone."

"Overpriced. Its a montreal institution but there are a few better steakhouses in the city. Very disapoiting they don't enfore some minimum dress code. When i am paying 60$ for a steak and 95$ for a bottle of wine, i don't want to eat among a number of tables where the patrons are wearing t-shirts, sneakers and jeans."

"We heard about Moishes back in November 2012 and promised ourselves that we would eat there on our next trip to Montreal. The place is very elegant, the service was excellent and the food was delicious. It is expensive, but it is definitely worth treating yourself for a special occasion."

"Went there on Friday, march 29. We went for around 10pm so we took advantage of the $25 menu. When we were seated, we were given bread, coleslaw, and pickles. It was good. Along with the $25 menu, we were able to choose an appetizer each. we took ceasar salad and salmon tartar. i ordered the rib steak and my date ordered the Kobe burger. Everything was delicious!! Atmosphere was a bit noisy but great for a Friday night. Very good service as well. I would 100% recommend."

"It was up to our expectations for the 65th birthday of my wife. The service was excellent as was the food. I had just mentionned the reason of our visit at the reservation a month ago. At the end of the diner, they brought a cake for my wife and the waiter brought a degistif for all four of us.

"First time back to Moishes in 10 years. Liked the decor and layout. tight table spacing, difficult to walk around without bumping into diners. Very much like tip-toeing through the tulips! On the food side, Moishes hasn't skipped a beat. Medium-rare rib steak was amazing while the medium roast beef had to be returned for a little more time on the grill, came out more on the rare than medium side. Monte Carlo potatoes were amazing. And wine list while on the pricey side, was quite varied and impressive. Dinner for 2 was $250 all in, ok for a special occasion."

"You won't get the true Moishe's experience. The 9 to 12 menu has turned this classy eatery into an everyday "quick stop". The waiters take you for for a fool, and can be on the verge of arrogant: our guy questioned our wine selection and then served us inappropriate glasses. They're so busy turning the tables that they do even stop when you're talking to them.
Food is still good though, and that's probably what matters the most. Not sure I would go back during the special menu times. I'd rather pay more and get served like I should be."

"Too much hype. Portion was small. Shells in the Alaskan king crab cake ( it was not crab cakes like it was written on the menu). Steak temperature was perfect but under seasoned. Service was excellent. Noise level was loud."

"The greatness starts from the beginning. The complimentary bread, coleslaw and pickles. Moises provides an atmosphere of old world chic. The waiters are very attentive and the steaks are the best I've ever had and I have been to some of the best stewkhouses inthe world. Overall suberb dining experience"

"Food is the best. The $25 special is well worth the money. We were three, and had filet mignon, lamb chops, and steak. We were all full after, but its not a moishe's experience without ordering the mille feuille. The piece was huge with plenty for the three of us to share.
We were a little annoyed with the waiter when we asked him "what is Petit Filet?" - he looked at me, and said "what do you mean, its petit filet." I answered,"but what is it?." So finally he said filet mignon. He made us feel stupid, like we were supposed to know what it is.
Other than that we enjoyed the netire experience. The restaurant was very noisy with chatter, so next time we will ask for a table along the wall or in a corner, instead of in the middle."

"The manager wasn't really friendly and lacks of people skills. For this price it's better to go to reef'n and steackhouse or Queue de Cheval. In this type of restaurant service count for much more."
