"Food was good but, for the price of the brunch, it should have been great. Steak was very salty. Appetizer was average. Dessert was as if it came from a grocery deli, warmed up and served. Tables were much too close together - even for a brunch. Definitely not what I would recommend to anyone for the price of the meal. Flemings, Morton's, F Scott's are all much better - and not just because I ordered steak. My wife ordered fish and it was nothing special either."

"A very special Mothers Day out (we r 65 and my wife had lost her mom 2 weeks ago).Alot was on the line.
I made surprise reservations choosing Watermark by reputation ALONE.There was no level of disappointment-none!
Our server was bright,cheerful,and knowledgeable.He recommended the grits/ham/cheese appetizer!!! I had filet & my
wife lamb.Excellent.The California Chardonnay was perfect. And to splurge a bit desserts of dark chocolate cake
and warm berry cobbler (recommended). Everything was prompt & valet is waiting. Add this to your "fabulous"list."

"Having eaten here several times in the past I expected a much better meal. The starters were awesome but my main course if the redfish just didn't make the mark. Fish was bland and was smothered with too much sauce. Will certainly go back again"

"We always find a special place for celebration dinners. This is the first time that we knew we would be back. At Watermark the food wasn't just good - it was excellent. Everything we ate had that extra bit of attention and freshness. The service was attentive without being in our faces. We went on a Tuesday so it was quiet which we appreciated. We will be back!!!"

"We were seated promptly at our reservation time. We were offered indoor or outdoor seating. We chose outdoor and it was great! The staff was very attentive and courteous. We had the beet salad for a starter which was wonderful! I had scallops and our daughter had the filet - both were very good. My husband had the other steak on the menu and, while it had a wonderful flavor, was very gristly and chewy. The creme brûlée, of which I am not usually a fan but our daughter ordered one dessert for the table, was amazing! They even wrote "Happy Birthday" in chocolate on the plate. Cappuccino to finish off dinner was great too but thought it would have been better served with sugar crystals on a stick than with packets of sweeteners."

"The staff was fantastic and very accommodating - especially our waiter, Cole. We were celebrating our anniversary and the restaurant graciously provided glasses of bubbly to get things started. Classy!
With one exception, the food was perfectly prepared and beautifully presented. We sat on the roof top patio and enjoyed some great Spring weather. Memorable evening!"

"This was the best meal I've had in a long time! Everything we ordered was absolutely perfect (that doesn't happen often!!). We had the Grit Souffle as an appetizer--it was fabulous! The chicken with mashed potatoes & steak with risotto as meals--once again, perfection! And for dessert I had the lemon curd which was to die for, another had the gelato which was good, not as great as everything else, but still not disapointing. I highly recommend going. The prices were reasonable as well for a very nice, quality meal."

"Was looking for a menu of resturants that were appealing and found the Watermark. I made reservation online and noted I was surprising my husband for our anniversary. We were treated to a more private dining area and immediately the server congratulated us for our anniversary. "We were recently married and extended our honeymoon with a stop in Nashville. The Watermark was terrific! The staff was so kind & attentive to our recent nuptials. Chef Bob & our waiter Cole were especially attentive. Chef Bob personally extended his congrats & made sure we ended the night with a super dessert! Plus he gave fantastic recs for live music. Cole was a GREAT server & was sure to make our first night in Nashville a special one. We will be back!!"

"Wonderful restaurant! The food was superb. From the octopus to the flounder, all the way to the trout, our meal was phenomenal. The service was friendly, on point, and frequently kept up with thinfs we needed without any hesitation, all while keeping the atmosphere personal and romantic. "This was one of the best meals I have had lately. The food was outstanding, both beautiful in presentation and delicious. The menu had adequate variety with creative dishes. The service was excellent. We had not been to Watermark in quite some time because the prices had gotten very high (out of line with comparable restaurants) and the food wasn't that spectacular. We had heard rave (and clearly well-warranted!) reviews of the new chef and were pleased to see the prices are more reasonable again with most entrees in the $25-$30 range with a couple at $32. This is consistent with other local restaurants of this caliber. Highly recommend, especially if you haven't been lately!"

"A group of friends, my wife and I had dinner this past Saturday to celebrate my birthday. We were extremely pleased with the quality of the food, the selection of wines and the outstanding service. The baby grilled octopus appetizer its one of the best I've ever had. We all chose different things from the menu and all agreed that food was great. Portions and the right size and the fusion of southern and french cusine makes a great combination. Our waitress Patricia did an outstanding job on describing each dish and showed perfect knowledge of the menu. We would definitely go back to Watermak."

"I have to say the food was outstanding, but be prepared to pay higher prices for smaller portions. Ex: Dinner - 3 average size scallops for $30 dollars. I am very used to great restaurants and do not mind paying higher prices, but this was a little much, but the food was absolutely delicious! Our server, was fantastic and even took the time to share some of her favorite places to go in Nashville. The wine was excellent as well, and our server was able to describe the difference between wines, and that is important since we love great wine!! I would definitely recommend it though. Definitely not a place for kids. There is a outdoor patio on the rooftop which would be great when the weather is a little warmer. Drinks/appetizers were awesome!"

"Truly unbelievable experience. My wife and I went for our 7th anniversary. I made my reservation through open table.
I was contacted by email and phone to confirm my reservation by Watermark. I had mentioned in my notes it was my anniversary.
When we arrived we were greeted ad seated in a section that was closed off and at a table that overlooked the city. They brought us
Complimentary champagne. The staff all acknowledged our special occasion. The waitress was so nice and helpful. We ordered dessert
and they had prepared it on a plate with "happy anniversary" written in chocolate.
We are not known and no influence if any kind and watermark made my wife and I feel special.
It was truly a nice experience. Food was delicious!"

"My wife and I visited from Charleston and had high expectations for the former Charleston Grill Chef Bob Waggoner and they delivered. Enjoyed a great dinner with my wife for our 10 yr anniversary. Food and service were excellent and the ambience was good. The only negative was the closeness of some of the tables. Otherwise it was a wonderful experience we would definitely dine there again."

"A month prior to coming to Watermark, I attended a taping of "Sing For Your Supper", with Chef Bob Waggoner and special music guest ,Brandon Heath at the Ryman Auditorium. Because the taping was such a fun experience, I chose to make reservations at Watermark, knowing that it is Chef Bob's restaurant. My dad was visiting Nashville for the first time ever and our experience at Watermark was our favorite part of the weekend, right alongside going to the Opry on Friday night! :) Our waiter, Cole was so kind, Chef Bob came out to personally greet and talk to us and even sent out complimentary scallops (delicious!). I am not a foodie, but I know high quality when I taste it...Watermark has it all and you will LOVE it!"

"Had a wonderful meal. Waiter was terrific - spent as much time as we wanted with us explaining the menu and answering our questions. Food was fantastic! Only problem was getting drinks was a little slow and also there was no one to greet us when we arrived and we did not know that we needed to go upstairs. Will definitely go again when back in Nashville."

"We went @ 7 on a Fri. We were quickly seated & they easily made from 6 to a 7-top. Our waiter was knowledgeable, helpful & friendly without being intrusive. We tried the chicken livers, grit soufflé & crab cake as starters, which was plenty for the first 6 of us to share. Wines were varied in many areas but not as deep in others, with many by-the-glass offerings. The wine prices varied but tended towards expensive. We tried the flounder, the shrimp and grits, the lamb & eggplant, the trout and the strip steak entrees, each was well-prepared and -presented. Portions were reasonable. For dessert we shared a delightful & unique beer ice cream & pretzel sundae and a deconstructed lemon meringue pie. Totally outstanding!"

"Finally! - Nashville has an urban upscale fine dining place that lives up to the high expectations I have if I'm going to splurge on a big night out. More importantly, I have a B&B where the guests expect the best, so I need to have a great recommendation for local places to eat that I really can believe in. Food was local and fabulous.
Watermark is located in a "re-vibed", hip part of the city bustling with nightlife, they make it easy to park with a valet. The bar is on the street level and the only reason I didn't give this place a 5-star is that the February night we were there was rainy and cold and they had no heat in the bar, where we waited for the other couple to join us. A complimentary drink to 'ease the freeze' was in order."

"I normally don't respond to these request for feedback but my experience on Tuesday evening is worthy of comment. The evening started off nicely as my group of five gathered in the bar. The experience turned dark once we were seated. I spent time in advance choosing wines for the evening off of the restaurants web site in order to focus on my guest at dinner, as opposed to the waiter. My top five choices were not available. After being forced to review the list again for choices the waiter disappeared for what seemed like an eternity only to return to disclose that they were not able to find his recommendation. What followed was inconsistancey among the group in terms of food satisfaction. I doubt that I will return any time soon."

"Best dining experience we've had since moving from Atlanta. Appetizers were creative and well done. Entre's were very good, with interesting sides and good quality proteins. Loved the wine parings. "Food was very good as usual but the service was INCREDIBLY slow (e.g., ~40 minutes between appetizer and main course). We arrived at 7:30 pm and left at 9:10 pm without time for desert/coffee and were still late for our 9 pm show. The waiter apologized saying that 70 people all came in at the same time but it seems to me that if they are going to allow 70 reservation slots at 7:30 then they should be able to handle it. I told them on the phone when I made the reservation that I wanted a "romantic table" ... they put us in the corner by the window which would have been nice but the window looked out over a parking lot and there were two large party tables next to us. It was quite noisy!"
