"A very small, dark, and energetic restaurant. We got a great table very closet to the small stage which made the whole experience very fun and personal. The chicken sandwich was awesome but my friend didn't like the white sauce on her burger. The eggplant fries were amazing but would've been better if the they were hot; the dishes must've cooled off because we got our food a little late probably because of the Mowglis and Family of the Year concert. Overall, a great hangout spot, even for teenagers, at an affordable price, probably about $25 for the burger and sandwich. Although the service slowed down because of the concert, I'm definitely going back on another concert night."

"My family and friends attended your Open Mic Night on Monday's Live Jazz for the first time.We were amazed with the talent we heard that night. Especially the instrumentals!.The service was great! We liked how we were checked in and sat right away. The food selection complimented all of our pallets, from the Black bean Humus Appetizer to your Pulled pork sandwich!Great place for lunch or light dinning.I found this place to be very relaxing and sophisticated with great acoustics. A true gem."

"Pulled chicken nachos, fish and chips, and buffalo tofu wrap were all excellent. Not my favorite calamari, but everyone likes it differently. The atmosphere certainly got us in the mood for the concert downstairs following our meal."

"I've been to the World Cafe both for dinner and a show, and just to have dinner in and of itself.
If you're going for a show you can hardly complain as the venue is the only place in the city where you can have dinner and see live music while seated with a good view; and you should also keep in mind that the staff have to prepare and serve dinner to all of their tables pretty much at the same time.
If you're just going for dinner and there's no pressure on the kitchen or the wait staff I'd say that both the food and the service could be better. Still, given the prices I don't feel ripped-off. I've paid much more for less elsewhere, based mainly on "decor and ambiance". It's not fine-dining or haute cuisine, but it's better than Chil"

"First time here, but let's face it, I was here for the music, not the food. Atmosphere is AMAZING. People checking you in at the door, wonderful. I WILL be back for more music and just because it's convenient (and you get a better table if you go early...). First off, the prices were quite fair, considering it is in the city of Philadelphia. Mixed drinks were good; a nicer selection would have been ideal. Appetizer selection was nice, and I enjoyed mine (Calamari), but others in my party said theirs tasted bland. Dinner menu was more lunch-kind variety. I had the Fish and Chips, which looked like a child's size -- but tasted great. All-in-all, a good evening with music, friends and food."

"Of course this is the restaurant 'sky box' at the World Cafe, offering the best and most comfortable view of the big stage. Food was carefully prepared, sort of a deluxe pub menu, but with amble healthy alternatives to standbys such as wings and nachos. Service was wonderful, with attentive servers who continued to keep us supplied with beverages after the show began. My date said the wine selection was quite good. I recommend this restaurant."

"The food wasn't bad if you stick with the basics. Pulled pork sandwich good, as were the appetizers - calamari, crab dip, veggies and hummus. Fries and sweet potato fries very good, eggplant fries soak up the oil. The portobello mushroom burger was not good. No flavor to the toppings. Overall, though, it's great to be able to park once and have your dinner at the same venue as the show."

"I rarely write restaurant reviews, but I felt compelled to comment here. I came here for a Story Slam. My boyfriend and I split a plate of nachos, under the reasoning that you can't possibly mess up nachos. We were wrong. The chips were flavorless, the chicken gloppy, and most importantly, THE CHEESE WAS SWEET. I'm not so much of a snob that "nacho cheese sauce" is beneath me? But it bothers when it tastes like an aspartame slurry. There didn't seem to be any salt in any of the other ingredients, so the result was like a weird, blandly dessert-y pile of kitchen scrap.
Not only that, but it took us a half an hour to try to hunt down the check and get out of there so we could eat other food elsewhere. Disappointed."

"The burger is to die for! Generous portions on everything our party ordered. We made dinner reservations because we were seeing a band that night. The bands were doing their sound checks during our meal, which was a bit distracting, but overall our experience was good."

"We mainly went for the musical act there that night (Guggenheim Grotto :) but was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food and service given to us. The waitstaff was more attentive than i expected & the food was very tasty! It's always nice when an experience surpasses your expectations :)"

"The food was surprisingly good. The menu was limited, I was expecting a fuller menu, but we found choices we liked. We had the black bean hummus which was very good, and had ample veggies and pita, perfect for sharing. I ordered fish and chips and my husband had the scallops. The fish was great, the fries were a little too skinny for me. My husband's order only came with three (large) scallops, he was expecting a heartier meal, but the scallops were absolutely delicious. For dessert we split the creme brulee, and it was top-notch."

"The food was excellent (scallops with fava beans and arugula, a savory smoked gouda and broccoli bread pudding, desert, appetizers, all first-rate; wine list is very limited but we found a decent Spanish red for a reasonable price; coffee was so-so, and their espresso machine was down). The decor is a bit industrial (think: nice company cafeteria) and the tables are close enough together that the rather loud party next to us intruded a bit into our ability to hold a conversation. We booked for the music, but the meal was a huge bonus. We'll be back often for the food and music."

"Saw a concert there on a Thursday night. Reserved a table an hour and a half before the show time, which was a great idea. Got there early enough to take advantage of happy hour and be done eating before the performance, and had somewhere to sit during the show instead of having to stand."

"I attended the Dialogue featuring Darius and Julian Coleman, I found the waitress service to be horrible. The waitress was slow, unpleasant, rude, and seemed to not feel like working. I would recommend a crash course on customer service. The show was great, however, the sound was not what I would have expected for a venue that has live performances. The microphones/sound system was not conducive to the vocalist and at times the vocalist were not heard clearly do to the sound system or microphone level. Overall, other than the service,it was a pleasurable evening. I would recommend."

"Good food and good entertainment. I went because a friend was performing. Only one vegetarian choice among the sandwiches. I would return if the entertainment is what I would like. I would like to see more mixture of genres, country singing, broadway show singing, love songs singing, and classical music."
