"The concierge at the Baltimore Marriott Waterfront Hotel strong recommended this restaurant, so perhaps the following review is a fluke. We were a party of 6, sat in an upstairs area for larger groups (which was fine) an the evening started out very well. The server did not really seem to know enough about the wine list, the food was good but not outstanding and we waited way to long for our check. The menu read beautifully but the presentation, quality and taste of the food did not match the menu's flowery description. Overall did not meet our expectations for a last night and hoped for most special dinner at the end of a long work week conference."

Escargo:slightly too much lemon and not enough garlic. Balance was off.
Ossobuco: just slightly too salty, but salty. I know salt is needed in food, I use it, but you don't use it to taste it, you use it to enhance the taste of the food.
Veal saltimbocca: REAL salty. Prosciutto cut too thick. Veal a little chewy. I know veal is tricky. Hard to eat."

"Another very nice dinner at Also's. Food was very good. I had the Osso Bucco, and my wife had the Bronzino special. Both were prepared and presented nicely and were delicious. The staff was very attentive. The only drawback to the otherwise wonderful evening was the long time to get drinks before the meal. In Aldo's defense, the bar - which you pass when entering - was very full when we arrived."

"This was our first trip to Aldo's and it was one of the best meals I've had in Little Italy. We had 6 PM reservations. The bartender was phenomenal and consistently made cocktails exactly to order. We had the fried eggplant appetizer, which was delicious. Everyone in our party ordered one of the veal dishes and no one was disappointed. I had the veal chop, incredible. My wife had the Saltimbocca, also delicious and the other couple we were with went for the Osso Bucco, which was very tender and delicious. For desert, the tiramisu was quite tasty. The only piece of constructive criticism, the service was excellent up to desert. It took 15-20 minutes for coffee and desert to arrive. Highly recommend this place!"

"Our 7:30 table was not available until after 8:00, so we were left standing in the bar with our children.
Special Bronzino dish and Orchiette sausage and broccoli rabe dishes were excellent. Risotto in shrimp dish arrived as mush. Veal Saltimbocca arrived sufficiently cold to have allowed a skin to form on the surface of the sauce."

"Good food but it all took tooo long. Our meal took 3+ hours. We ended up waiting up to an hour between the appetizer and main course with out checki ns by the waiter. The waiter was charming but it was just too much and no amount of charm could compensate. In addition, they did not time the course delivery. My son ended up getting his appetizer 20+ mins before my husband and I did. For a meal that cost almost $400, this was really unforgivable."

"We went for a romantic dinner for our honeymoon. The service was wonderful. They gave us complimentary champagne.The bread was delicious as was our spinach salad with walnuts, raisins, and creamy champagne dressing. We both had the specials and were blown away. His sea bass was scrumptious and my pasta special was mouth watering.

"Terrific place for a quiet dinner....background music is loud enough to hear but low enough to have a conversation without all other tables hearing it; but I wish the music selection was more Italian...but others would love the mix of music genre. The veal chop Milanese was incredible and my husband loved the lamb...Aldo's is our restaurant to go to everytime we go up to Baltimore...have never had any dinner that wasn't equisite! Service is terrific, especially Dan...and the wine list is to envy....ask for recommendations if you are not sure...the staff is knowledgeable. We will be back many more times. Thank you Aldo's!"

"Excellent,TOP-NOTCH restaurant experience! Night before St. Patricks Day so crowd may have been a bit lighter, but got VIP service and attention from the entire staff! Including a visit from the Executive Chef, Sergio, Aldo's son, which rounded out a very special & romantic evening! Memorable & have saved the cork from the wine bottle to commemorate the evening!"

"Great food, wine list and ambience. Service could be better. Long delays in drink order - finally cancelled and ordered wine for meal. Very little description of entrees. Slow service in general. Great breads, apps, desert and most main dishes. I ordered a special which was a ragout of boar with pasta. Mostly pasta, little sauce and tiny flecks of meat. Would have gone with something else if the waiter would have done better in describing. Expensive and a nice place but waiter was a total turn off ."

"We had wanted to try something different in Little Italy and Aldos had received many accolades for food and service that we thought it was worth a try. The food was wonderfully prepared. However, for the price and the portions it was not worth it. I ordered the veal saltimbocca and the sauteed spinach which is an ingredient of the dish was considered the "side dish". If I wanted a potato it would have been an additional $6.00. We will not return"

"The appetizer salads were large but too heavily slathered with dressing. Instead of being something to whet the appetite, it was too heavy. The asparagus soup was unexceptional, with slivers of nicely cooked asparagus. We had the lobster pasta, veal saltimboca, shrimp scampi and the mushroom risoto. Of those dishes the best was the mushroom risoto, which was flavorful. The pasta was a clump of pasta, heavily dressed with bland tomato sauce, and small pieces of lobster that probably had been frozen. The veal was tender, and while my wife said it tasted fine, I thought it had an undercooked taste. The scampi had nice-sized shrimp. The wine list leans heavily toward the expensive side, with the two bottles we had marked up 2.5 times."

"My boyfriend and I were there for Valentines Day and this place is great. That was our first time there and it was a wonderful experience. The server we had was a bit slow but it was Valentines Day so we understood. Other than that we both enjoyed the food and the place is beautiful inside and out. It is an ideal romatic restaurant."

"Aldo's had some high points. Wine list has a wide selection of great wines.. Appetizers (antipasto) were outstanding. The salad was great. Dessert was very good. Entrees were terrible. The spaghetti was under ooked and chewy, and the veal just didnt hit the mark, as it had way too much lemon hiding the other flavors. Waiter was nice, but they were very busy and he was pulled away quite often leaving lapses of service. Garlic bread tasted like fish oil was used. Overall, if you want antipasto, salad and wine, this is the place to go. For a great italian entree, I would consider one the other fine dining facilities in the area."

"My husband and I visited Aldo's for our anniversary and were absolutely delighted with the entire experience. The food was excellent, particularly the cream of asparagus soup. Our waiter was the perfect blend of personable and solicitous. The seating is a bit on the "friendly" side (a function of being situated in a former townhouse) but reasonable personal space is maintained with strategic half-walls, and the overall result is totally charming. My lodestar for a good restaurant is how the bar prepares a Black Russian, and they were superb here. We look forward to returning often."
