"Restaurant's food is fantastic. Lovely staff. However, it got very hot and they had no functional A/C so it was a somewhat mediocre evening. We were all profucely sweating in May. Also only Italian wine so come prepared to drink red. Middle of winter it would be a home run!"

"we have been coming here for 11 years and this past saturday night was a bit different than most of our experiences here before,,tables very tight,,,waiters seem to rush us thru our meal,,very little time to chat before being interrupted for orders and that was a problem. Food of course was excellent as usual.
yes,,it was saturday night,,but if they cant provide a relaxed atmosphere in which to dine without so much noise,,and tightness,,its sad to say these are changes for the worse..

"I booked this restaurant based on an internet search and looked over the menu. I read other reviews as well. My daughter and I were in New York for a play that evening and were staying near the theatre district. This restaurant was about a 12 minute cab ride to the upper east side. The place is nice and cosy -not "tired looking" as some other reviews suggested .It was formal without being stuffy and all the waiters were most definitely Italian! My meal (tortella - filled with mushroom and spinach) in a cream sauce was simply amazing. The tiramisu was the best I have ever had! The gnocchi my daughter ordered was also the best gnocchi she has had. We were very happy with our choice and recommend this restaurant! Service was great!"

"We had a wonderful, wonderful experience at Lusardi's. It's one of our favorite NYC restaurants. The food is delicious and prepared beautifully (homemade fusilli with Amatriciana sauce, Calves liver with a red wine reduction, John Dory over sauteed spinach). Our server, Edwin, was observant and gracious, and the manager recommended a wonderful bottle of wine for our price point. It was a memorable meal, and we'll certainly be back."

"Our experience at Lusardis was exceptional. We were led to our table immediately and were greeted by the staff enthusiastically. Our son had the pasta special which he said was one of the best he had ever had. My husband had the risotto with white truffles and our son and I had tastes and we all agreed we would order this the next time we went to Lusardis. My husband and I both ordered the veal and it was perfectly cooked and easy to cut and absolutely delicious. We live near Lusardis and we can't wait to return."

"Surprisingly excellent food. The rabbit dish was outstanding. It was bright and delicate, which for rabbit is an accomplishment. The mushroom/truffle ravioli was also excellent. Not a light dish but very flavorful and well balanced. An older, refined crowd leads one to believe that this is a hidden neighborhood gem. The restaurant was packed by 8pm. "Have been twice now. The crowd is older, and well dressed. If you're wearing jeans you're underdressed, if you're wearing a blazer you'll fit right in. Food is good, but overpriced. The service is pleasant, and the decor is classy in an understated way. The clientele seems to be 60ish finance types and their wives.
We ordered 2 main courses, an appetizer, and a cheap bottle of wine, and paid $140. Though I enjoyed the experience I'd rather travel down to a place like Franks on the Lower East Side and get the same quality food, with a little more excitement, and pay a little less for the privilege."

"Charming room. The menu is somewhat limited for a New York Italian restaurant. We found the food relatively good but uninspired. Our overall impression is that Lusardi's could use a fresh menu approach. The crowd is older and appears for the most part to be regulars."

"We went with 3 friends who are from northern California and in town for the gift show. Everyone was happy with their meals. My husband loved the chicken livers (rarely seen on a menu these days), my halibut special was delicious; our friends enjoyed their pastas. The recommended Italian red was excellent and well-priced at $48. They also brought us a plate of sauteed eggplant as an extra."
