"This weekend I experienced Uva, an Italian tapas wine bar located on Manhattan’s Upper East Side.
The Polenta Tartufata is a lovely polenta filled with Robiola cheese in a black truffle sauce. The polenta was smooth and the cream sauce was not too heavy. I love the taste of white truffle and found the black truffle to be more sophisticated taste wise.
The Pomodoro Farcito was a delectable dish of plum tomatoes filled with Stracciatella over chopped arugula with balsamic syrup. The Stracciatella was smooth and creamy and melted in your mouth. The balsamic syrup added the right saltiness to the dish.
For dessert I had the almond tart with vanilla ice cream. The almond tart was a satisfying way to end my meal."

"Best of all worlds to sit out in the covered porch in the backyard and enjoy a bottle of wine and great food. Highly recommend the place, but recommend that you ask for a taste of your wine before ordering a bottle unless you're very conscious of the wine that you're ordering."

"We were greeted and our table was waiting for us Our dinner was very good. Two in our party had the seafood stew thing and said it was the best they every had. I had wonderful Gnocchi with their bolognese The portions were plentiful was very good. We sat inside and it was pretty noisy. We will definitely go back."

"I am lucky enough to live in this neighborhood, but if I ever move, this is a restaurant I will definitely be back to visit. My mom and I celebrated my graduation there last night and I honestly cannot stop talking about how great the food and the service was. I asked to be sat in the back patio because it was such a pleasant night and we were sat within a few minutes. We had a wonderful server who was knowledgeable about the entire menu and all the wines. She also recommended some fabulous entrees- we had the gnocchi in a truffle cream sauce and the scallops. We also had the meatballs to start and an artichoke salad to start. I couldn't stop eating everything was so good! I'll definitely be back very soon!"

"I choose this restaurant just because I read some reviews about their great Gnocchi. I ordered their ricotta gnocchi, ravioli, eggplant lasagna, and Cavatelli Al Pesto. Ricotta gnocchi was great when I had my first bite, but after I ate half of this dish, I just felt I can't eat it anymore, the taste is the same, so it's better to share this dish with someone else. For ravioli, it was great!! I love the dough. Eggplant lasagna tastes also good, and Cavatelli Al Pesto is not as outstanding as the other dishes. By the way, they have meatball on Monday, I also ordered a chicken meatball, and the meatball was soft and delicious."

"I have been searching for a great Italian restaurant on the UES and I have been hard-pressed to find one...until UVA. I have been on the hunt for the best bolognese sauce in the city and the vitello ragu is one of UVA's signature dishes. But, I did not choose this. Instead I went for the gnocchi with black truffle sauce and it was absolutely amazing. The gnocchi pillows were perfectly cooked and the ricotta inside was so fresh. The black truffle sauce added a level of decadence that was perfect for a Friday evening out with the girls. I paired it with the bubbly wine flight and we got a cheese plate of the asiago, pecorino, and one more that was not very good. But then we topped it off with another bottle of white! Expensive but fun!"

"I love Meatball Mondays and the free happy hour tapas with the purchase of a drink at the bar. Usually one person in my party will get the prix fixe Meatball Monday dinner so that we can all split the appetizer and the dessert. The food is delicious and the ambiance is nice, albeit a little cozy.

"UVA is amazing. My girlfriend and I has been there before for a rehearsal dinner and decided to go back just the two of us. We made a reservation and were seated promptly. Our waiter was extremely friendly and tentative especially to make sure that our wine glasses weren't empty. The food was delicious, I ordered the scallops wrapped in prosciutto and they were cooked perfectly, not one was over done. My girlfriend ordered the ravioli with prosciutto, she won it was amazing. I would give this place 5 stars except the seating was a little tight(we were seated in the back courtyard) . I felt like we were on top of the people next to us. Overall I would go back in a heartbeat. Just make sure to make a reservation as it fills up quick."

"Uva is a neighborhood Italian restaurant that never seems to disappoint. I love starting with some of the cheeses or Sicilian flatbreads, continuing with the octopus salad and finishing with a pasta - particularly the pappardelle ragu. The food is comforting and the ambience inviting. Great for a date or a night out with a group of friends. The back patio is nice too, though I wish it weren't always enclosed. The downstairs is a great option for a private event as well. All in all, it's hard to go wrong at Uva!"

"We are regulars here at Uva. This was our first experience that I have any complaints. Upon our arrival I informed the hostess a person in our party was unable to join us. She then sat us at the smallest table all the while there was a total of 9 other open tables. The smallest member in our party is 5'10" I quickly requested if there was any possibility she could sit us at a table that could accommodate our party with sufficient leg room. She quickly responded, "no this you are no longer a party of 6, all the other tables have been reserved for a larger party." I said yes our reservation was for 6 people. This is far less than acceptable service. We will not be returning this week :("

"Both dinner and brunch are amazing. Our group had the frittata, fresh pappardelle, pancakes and paninis—all were delicious. Though, I would have to say sun-dried tomato pesto bruschetta and pappardelle with bolognese sauce are musts. Service was quick and friendly."

"I love going to Uva! The bartenders and wait staff are always incredibly nice and friendly. Their portions are a great size and they are very generous with their wine pouring! One of my favorite places to go whenever I can! I love the wine flights before 7 PM! Meatball Monday was delicious!"

"We were visiting from Pittsburgh, Pa and had a perfect meal with our friends from Long Island. All of the staff at Uva were wonderful and our waitress gave us some wonderful recomendations. Everything was cooked to perfection and the wine selection was amazing. Their wonderful selection of desserts was a great way to end our meal. "The prices for this restaurant were very reasonable. We have a vegetable antipasti which was delicious and fresh, but my pasta dish tasted like canned sauce. My husband enjoyed his scallops and the desserts were very good. The place was noisy and very crowded, especially for our party which consisted of four (three close to six feet tall). I would try again for lunch and hope for a better meal."

Good wine, very attentive service.

"Went to Uva at 8:45 PM on a Wednesday night. The place was packed. Regardless, our table was ready within a minute of arriving. We were seated in the back glassed in patio seating which was considerably quieter than the front room.
The servers were prompt and courteous, the wine list is very complete, and the food is exceptional. We had Porchetta and gorgonzola dolce to start and papardelle with veal ragu and stuffed eggplant (which was delicious). Dessert was a crepe cake, with layers of custard between crepes, divine."
