"I have been going to Mont Blanc for many years. It is an old-fashioned restaurant in the best sense of that term. The food is old style French/Swiss and astonishing delicious. The side dish of rosti which comes wih every entreeis particularly yummy. We had a shrimp appetizer, sole amandine, filet mignon, and meringue glace. Service is welcoming - the proprietor, Maria - is a lovely lady who makes you feel as if you are dining in her home. Prices are very reasonable for this area, making this an excellent place for pre-theatre."

"Seemingly small with a cozy bar but a larger back room, Mont Blanc obviously hasn't changed much in the past two decades and that's a very good thing amid the corporatized chain cuisine that now exists all over the Theater District. Viennese, Swiss and Italian dishes predominate. Veal dumplings in a wild mushroom sauce are delicious. The chicken marsala was on the sweet side but kids will love it. The large group next to our party of five was enjoying several pots of fondue. It's a perfect spot to end up in for an early dinner after a Broadway matinee."

"Looking for something different pre theater Mont Blanc delivers. Swiss food has strong German bend but other European influences as well. Food was very good, nice price fix, got us in an out no problem. Our drinks came quickly and correctly. I like my Cosmso just so. Find an excuse to order something that needs mustard. They import theirs for Switzerland, comes in a funky metal tube, we bought some to take home and have been enjoying it ever since.
It was a little dated inside but the staff is warm and friendly. The owners are there and attentive. We blew the reservation and they, saw our mistake and helped us only anyway. Will be back for sure."

"We went for pre theater dinner and sat in the bar area. Since it was early, it was quiet.
Most people went to sit in the rear dining room which became a bit noisy.

"The prix fixe dinner menu is reasonable. Everything was delicious. If I had realized that there was a dining room in the back I would have requested to be seated there. Seating in bar area is tight. Unfortunately we had a very LOUD group of men dining at the bar right behind our table. One of the gentlemen ? was unable to speak a complete sentence that did not contain f--- in it. This certainly made our dining experience much less enjoyable than it should have been. This is a restaurant that I will definitely revisit- if there is seating in the dining room."

Escargot was buttery and garlicy, just like you want it to be, with a sauce rich enough to want to dip the crusty, delicious bread. Veal dumplings with wild mushroom sauce was good...not a doughy dumpling, more like a veal meatball on steroids. Tasted very good, with delicious potatoes that were somewhat like hash browns. Service was not bad, but could have been a bit more attentive. All in all, a decent and decently priced Theater District destination"

"We loved the relaxed feeling in the back room. Very quaint and relaxing. The brunch was delicious and very reasonable. The service was excellent and so friendly. "Mont Blanc is a very good, kinda old fashioned restaurant of a sort that used to be called "continental". As everyone reports, Maria is attentive and charming; the food is well-prepared, familiar but not at all tired, with a big menu, lots of choices, lots of ways to organize your dinner. Service was brisk but we weren't hurried either. I think its fortunes are tied to the Theater crowd, which is fine, it's a bit busier earlier, though perhaps there's a late contingent also... We enjoyed ourselves and we were a party of several different tastes/preferences."

"We used to come to this spot back when it was Luxia's and were sad to see it go, but are happy to report that we are quite pleased with what succeeded it. In addition to having a few favorite menu items from Luxia's the fondue was quite a lot of fun (in addition to being excellent) and everything else we had was wonderful too. The little garden in the back is a great place to sit outside in warmer weather and the service is excellent. We will return."

"We went to Mont Blanc after a show and was pleasantly suprised at the food. We oe ordered from the prix fix menu. The lentil soup was hearty and our meals were very tasteful. The portions were just right, not to be overstuffed and not have dessert...peach melba and black cherry sundae with tea and coffee was a perfect night. "Swiss cuisine -- fondues, raclettes, bratwursts, roesti -- seldom excites eager anticipation, which may be why it's hard to find in New York. But Mont Blanc's version is credible if not quite haute. And as a theater district restaurant, the staff will get you out in plenty of time to make your curtain. Don't expect dinner to upstage the show you're going to see and Mont Blanc will likely prove satisfactory."

"Mont Blanc was absolutely amazing! I was visiting NYC for the weekend and found it on Opentable while searching for someplace nice, but relatively cheap to go to for my boyfriend's birthday. I couldn't have made a better choice! The food was amazing and always arrived in good time. And they provided my boyfriend with a little cake and ice cream with a candle singing him happy birthday, which I didn't expect at such a small place. I look forward to going back the next time I am in the city!"

"I was pleasantly surprised by Mont Blanc. My sister and I took our mother for dinner after a Broadway show for her birthday. The food was pretty tasty and the ambiance just fine. The house salad and escargot were great. My onion soup needed a bit more salt but was still good. Mom enjoyed her muscles and my sister enjoyed her pesto sauce! The service was a bit rushed but courteous. Our server obliged my "please sing happy birthday to mom request." I would definitely eat at Mont Blanc again when in the area."

"Found this little gem in the theatre district-- you walk in to an older, local bar scene and then the typical small NYC restaurant with tables close that if you have nothing to talk about with whom you are with, you can just listen into the conversations around you--- food was great, had the cheese fondue and the chocolate one for dessert, a fun date-"

"Food is the reason to go here. In the heart of the theatre district it is hard to find better food. We started with a really great onion soup followed by veal bratwurst and veal cordon bleu. The bratwurst and the veal cb both came with snow peas( not sure they were snow peas) which were great but for me the highlight of the evening was the portion of roesti potatoes which was given to be shared. They were the best I've ever had and I travel regularly between the US and Switzerland so I've sampled them many times. Absolutely the best. Worth a visit just for the roesti. Forgot to mention they also served a very nice salad before the main course. The portions here are very generous and the prices reasonable. Best theatre restaurant I went to."

"We have been to Mont Blanc three times and the food and service have always been excellent. The fondue is to die for! We love to eat at Mont Blanc before a matinee because the food is great and the theatres are all nearby. We will return again and again."
