At Mamacita we pride ourselves on creating a community atmosphere while serving culinary creations and libations utilizing the freshest of ingredients. At the core of our offering is a homage to original Mexican dishes made from scratch each day. House-made tamales, tortillas and sauces create a foundation for our ever seasonal menu. While unique and carefully crafted ceviches, enchiladas and tacos have become house staples.
We also take our tequila and beverages very seriously as we search out hand crafted and boutique distilleries to round out our over 60 in house tequilas and mescals.
Three times recognized as "Best Mexican" in the San Francisco Bay Area we pride ourselves on providing you a great experience and love what we do everyday.
"Very good food and very good service but I'm kind of getting tired of the restarant design where it's a long couch against the wall fronted by tiny tables (18"x24") with maybe 4-6" between tables so you get a great view of your neighbor's they slid in/out to go to the bathroom. The best part is they can also in on a private conversation you are having and also stare at the food you ordered."

"mexican fare with pizzaz. food that comes out of the kitchen are bursting with flavor. a different take on the tacos and enchilada dish. we love the stuff jalapeno and the crab stuff taquitos. and of course the margaritas with several types of tequila to choose from. a great place for a meal with a lot of energy. we don't mind the drive from the valley to dine at Mamacitas."

"We had the ceviche, mahimahi tacos and carnitas tacos. Everything was good. The carnitas were excellent - the best of the items we ate. Fast service. Only wish they would allow diners to sample a few of their tacos in a single order. (3 tacos per order). Look forward to returning to try the duck tacos."

"Nice to know that Mamacitas can always be counted on for great food and great service. Now if they would just bring back brunch and those amazing huevos rancheros....all would be good with the world."

"Our service, the ambiance and of course the food was really good. The noise level gets to be a bit much though. The chile rejones were the best I've had. You could absolutely make a meal of the starters. There were five of us who shared four or five starters and I was full so just split a jicama salad which was perfect."

"Group of 4 Service: Arrived 10 mins late, but very accommodating. Table staff was prompt, helpful and friendly.
Drinks: No complaints about the mojitos. Sangria had no seltzer first round, seltzer on the second, but both ways were good.
Food: Nothing really stood out as great or missing the mark. Guacamole, carnitas especial, pato a la plancha were all well done. Chiles Rellenos were not completely cleaned. I got membrane and seeds – far too hot for my taste. The churros were very good. The dipping chocolate whipped cream was so thick that when attempting to dunk, all of the chocolate went over the sides.
Overall: Not bad, but not great. A place I’m glad I tried, but am in no rush to go back. I have had better meals at $50 per p"

"The small plates were perfect for 5 of us being able to sample all the various dishes. Every dish was attractively presented. Couldn't have asked for better service ... our waitress was friendly and efficient."

"Even though we had a reservation the table originally offered was poor. Crammed between two other tables. Even though multiple other tables were open (specifically for two) we were not allowed to sit at them. Fortunately there was no one seated outside & we were happy to sit outside. Beautiful California Saturday evening. However, the hostess was notably NOT accommodating. Food was great regardless. This is always & will continue to be a go to spot when I have out of town visitors. Delicious."

"Had not been in a few years, but great to find that Mamacita has not rested on its (well-deserved) laurels. The food is truly wonderful...fresh, vibrant flavors, non-traditional pairings of mostly traditional ingredients, perfectly prepared and nicely presented. Service continues to be the near-perfect blend of professional/efficient and friendly/casual.
Prices are moderate (most expensive item is $19). Given the quality of the food, this could almost qualify as a "bargain". Short wine list with easy food pairings (moderate mark-ups) and okay beer list. Very extensive and impressive tequila offerings.
Negatives: Small (but very attractive)space with cramped seating. Noise level rates 8/9 out of 10. Parking is a nightmare."

"The food lacked seasoning, especially salt! We ordered the guacamole and it needed more seasoning, we also ordered the enchilada and the meatballs Lacked seasoning , we finally tried the tacos and same thing, very disappointing as we had high hopes for this place. Service was excellent but the food left much to be desired, hopefully it was an off night."

"The food and service at Mamacita's were good. It is also beautifully decorated. It seems to be a younger, "happening" place to eat in SF, like an upscale Tacolicious but with much better cuisine. Our reservations were for 9pm and the noise level when we arrived was overwhelming. It was so loud, we almost left. Thankfully, the hostess was able to seat us so my boyfriend and I could sit next to eachother at a communal table (two other couples were sharing the table with us). Had it not been for the amount of noise, this would have been a great date night pick for a restaurant. So.... be forewarned, if you don't mind "talking" to your dining partner at top volume, then I would recommend this place."

"The food is great however quite pricy for Mexican Food.
The noise is what bother us everytime we walk in. The acoustics are horrible and it reaches levels where you have to talk loud in order to be heard.
Service is normally good.
We typically get the following: Chips, Guacamole and Salad Gorditas (Our Favorite) Enchiladas Rojas or Enchiladas Rancheras Brussels Sprouts Boudin Chocolate Cake
No Alcohol, just soft drinks
Around $60-80 each visit for 2"

"energetic & vibrant; the venue, the company, the food and the drinks! Enjoyed it personally last year on a trip and returned this year was with colleagues attending Fancy Food Show - this was a tremendous experience to share. Love the convivial surroundings, the thoughtful menu, excellent choices for sharing - seviche with persimmon & chayote salsa bathed in a herby, lemon mayer vinaigrette, with mahi mahi, Niman Ranch pulled pork tacos all 'washed down' with stunning margaritas. Mucha gracias indeed!"
