"The waitress was a little slow on bringing drinks and bread, but when I asked the manager for something I didn't have to wait more than one minute. Overall the experience was good and the filet mignon with portabello mushrooms was fantastic."

"Food was delicious. Had a margarita and appetizers (cheesy bread...yum) and wings. We both had the filet with beurre bernaise, asparagus and a loaded baked potato. Unable to finish it all due to appetizers. Great neighborhood restaurant. Will definitely return."

"Great service and being as one person in trhe party was on a low sodium diet, for the most part the person was able to get what he wanted/needed. I do beleive that they could carry more no salt items: (no Salt Butter) for the plained baked potato. No salt Ketchup, and no salt french fries. The manager came by the table and ask how every thing was, which was nice to see that."

"I took my friend for her Birthday dinner.She had New York Steak and I had the Top Sirloin we were happy we our choices steaks were great! Baked potatoes perfect my favorite we order the Artichoke for starters it was amazing! Dessert was the hot apple pastry with vanilla ice cream.our server Anna was also amazing!!!!"

"The food was outstanding...however our server Martha seemed as she was just not happy to be working. Not once spoke or smiled. (Not even to ask how did we want our steak or burger cooked). Restaurant was extremely uncomfortable (ac not working or simply not properly set) all guest seemed hot and I even saw a manager blowing air to the next table beside us as they complaint. All hostess were friendly and had smiles...made us feel welcome but our server just never atempt,no smile...not once spoke. This is not my 1st time to this location as I come here every Mon evening with my family and this has been the 1st time to have a server who just never once spoke."

I eat here with my parents every month & they consistently deliver a quality product with excellent service. I can't give 5 stars because the food just isn't there. "The waitress did not deliver the salad, a different waitress delivered the food after a longer than usual waiting time, then the medium steak was burnt, was extra well done instead of medium. The manager came over and said sorry and only offered to re-heat the food when told of the problems. The waitress finally came over to issue the food bill and claimed she's new. I come to this restaurant almost every other week but this has to be the worst experience on a normally service oriented restaurant. I gave the waitress the benefit of the doubt and added our customary tips but the manager offering just a reheat instead of maybe a complimentary dessert is a reflection of why services like this happen in this restaurant."

"Best steakhouse value in San Diego! A minor point: I was disappointed in the au gratin potatoes, which I tried for the first time. They were pureed! I prefer sliced. I must add that they tasted fine. The steaks were tender, juicy, and served as requested.
The food and service were excellent, and the value outstanding. Our reservation was done via Internet, and despite an over-crowded reception area, we were seated within 10 minutes of our appointed time. (It was Valentine's Day).
I never fail to recommend the Chula Vista Black Angus."

We were grateful that we had reserved our seat this year and therefore waited approximately 3-5 minutes to be seated. Servers were very friendly and ready to take our orders. The food, however, came out so fast that we had to assume it was not "cooked to order." The lobster was over cooked and the steak was a bit dry. That was a little disappointing, but we knew the restaurant was trying to get people "in and out" due to such a long line of people waiting to be seated. So, for this particular night, although the food was not so great, the servers were amazing! Kudos to all of them for all their hard work. We will definitely come back!!!"
