The Corner, located in Philadelphia's Midtown Village is simple and delicious American cuisine in the heart of Center City.
Between our cozy restaurant and lounge or our comforting entrees, you're guaranteed to find something you love. Along with our dining, we also have an exotic selection of specialty drinks from the minds of our mixologists.
While you dine, take in the views of American culture, or step outside onto our private roof deck and enjoy the tastes of comfort.
"No where in any restaurant have I had such TERRIBLE crab "cakes." They should be listed on the menu as BREAD PATTY (less than 1/2 inch thick, deep fried) with a HINT of crab meat - yours for $20. Waste of money. Will not be eating here again.
Pot pie was nothing to rave about. Good thing we had a decent appetizer.
We went down the street to Vintage to get something to eat and drink.
I don't know how The Corner will survive on a street with so many other good choices."

"This was my fourth time eating at The Corner, and I've been nothing but impressed with each visit. The drinks well-constructed, the service has never been a problem, and the food is great! I highly recommend the hushpuppies and the fried chicken. One of our fellow diners also ordered the duck breast, which was cooked perfectly."

"The food was really interesting and very tasty, but I think our server was having an off night. We had to flag her down to make our drink orders as well as our dinner order. The portion sizes are small (as noted in other reviews), but she didn't let us know that, or suggest we get a starter or salad. She was just not very attentive or helpful. But the food was really good, so I'd go back to The Corner when I am in Philly again."

"A friend and I were wandering around looking for somewhere to eat before a concert at the Trocadero. We were sold on the menu's combination of interesting new ideas and traditional comfort foods. We got a perfect table right at the restaurant's huge open window fronting street dining. Awesome people watching in addition to dinner is always a plus. Got there in time for some great happy hour specials, were brave enough to try the deep fried pickles (actually kind of delicious), and then had a great meal. The dinner portions weren't huge, but were reasonably priced -- and with offerings like bacon wrapped meatloaf, you wouldn't want them to be huge. We'll definitely go back -- next time, we're eager to check out the rooftop bar!"

"What a great new spot! Too chilly to sit outside the night we went but it could be a great on a nicer night. Love the gourmet comfort food!!! Definitely a place to go back and try more of the menu!"

"My first time here and was very impressed with the entire experience. Weather didn't permit a rooftop experience but everything else added up to a great experience. Can't say enough about the staff - they were friendly, efficient and attentive. Prices are reasonable and everything we had was very good. Can't wait to return."

"We had brunch after the Broad Street Race and after initially slow service, the pace was fine.We started with a round of mimosas which were great. Our group enjoyed the crab cakes benedict , eggs benedict, breakfast burrito, cheesy grits and biscuits with sausage gravy and everything was delicious. We recommend The Corner and will definitely return. BTW, the dinner menu looks really good, too."

"About a month ago we had a great dinner at The Corner, and we had high expectations for brunch. The brunch was dull and ordinary. We ordered omlets that were overdone with bland fillings (mushrooms, cheese). The accompanying small thin slices of cold toast without butter or jellies did not add to the meal. We'll return for dinner - but not for brunch!"

"Booked a last minute reservation for Saturday brunch. Menu looked good and they offered outdoor seating, which was a plus on this particularly nice spring day. I requested outdoor seating, which was provided although our table was wobbly (causing my beverage to slide off the table mid brunch). Service was pleasant, but slow. I noticed that she appeared busy (although it was nearing the end of the brunch shift) but as an outside diner she only had three tables & still she was rarely present. Cocktails & food both took a while to get to the table, but both were good. Not memorable, but good. I know they have rooftop seating, and they're open for dinner. I would be willing to return to check those out and see if service and ambience improve."

"It was noisy. Hard to have a conversation with someone across the table without talking really loud partly because the tables are so close together. Food as mediocre. Service was on point though."

"Food was very good, service was excellent. Seating was just a little too crowded for my taste. Menu had something for everyone. Wine and beer selection was decent and fairly priced.
I'll be back."

"The Corner was okay, nothing more. Late reservations, and only a half-filled restaurant and servers were still slow to take orders, delivery drinks, etc. The food is not bad, but I wouldn't go back."

"I have been going to the Corner for some time now. I absolutely love it. The food is delicious while being at such a good price. I love picking and sharing when I go out to dinner. The Corner's new menu is meant just for that! The large window, energetic bar and barn wood tables create the perfect atmosphere that just keeps me coming back! Ideal date spot!"

"We came at perfect timing so we got to sit outside. I had this waitress before and she was good; however, this time she is not. She never came to ask hows the food once we got the food. I was waiting to tell her I need salt and peppers. I waited until my food was cold so I gave up. I asked the guy that filling water for every table for it too. He said ok and never came back with it. Then she just came with a bill. We went to get dessert somewhere else since she didnt offer."

"Took my family from out of town here. They were able to accommodate us as a table of five near an open window, as their excellent roof-top seating is set up for parties of four or less. Food was very good, no draft beers (only bottles/cans), wines starting at $8 for the glass. A lovely place for a date or outdoor seating!"

"We really enjoyed eating at the Corner! The biscuits they brought out in the beginning were fantastic! All of the food in general was delicious- I had the bacon wrapped meatloaf, as recommended by the waitress and I would definitely get it again. The portions were filling but not overwhelming, which I like- you leave feeling full and satisfied but not stuffed. The atmosphere was great too!"

"Pleasantly surprised, last minute decision and booking. The arctic char was outstanding, the fried pickles were good. The fried cauliflower may have been a bit overdone, but still tasty."

"The seating in this place is very strange; the banquettes have chair backs installed in them, so you have to sit in exactly the place the seat back is, and if you don't want to sit that close to your dining the person next to you, well that's just too bad.
Other than that, the food was very good, but we found the menu a bit limited. This is basically a bar and the menu reflects that; there were a lot of fried appetizers on the menu. We had the salt cod hushpuppies, which were fine, and the macaroni and cheese, which was very creamy but lacking in flavor.
My husband and I each ordered Cobb salads, and found them to be satisfactory but not exceptional. Our son had the duck breast and said it was delicious and well-cooked.
We didn't o"

"The food was to die for. We shared the jalepeno cream cheese balls, salmon perogies, chicken fried lobster, and mac and cheese. The chicken fried lobster was out of this world! Drinks were tasty too. I had the Tall Dark and Stormy and my friends tried the Rascal. Very strong, but a little on the higher end of pricing. Service was friendly and fairly prompt, though it did take a while for our drinks to come. I'd definitely go back."

"My husband and I were in Philly for a night and, thanks to the other reviews on Open Table, made a reservation at The Corner. We're so glad we did! It is a cozy restaurant with very friendly hostesses and wait staff. We were seated in a small booth for 2, which was better than being in the long row of tables side-by-side. We ordered the beet salad, smoked salmon perogies, and split pea soup to start; then we had cocktails; and finally the pork shank special. The food was very good-- the pork could have been a bit more tender and the smoked salmon perogies were a bit too strong tasting. The split pea soup was perfect! This is a wonderful little restaurant in a great part of Philly-- we'll definitely go back and would recommend it."

"We went to The Corner with another couple on Valentine's Day. The cocktails were excellent. And between the four of us we tried the steak (daily special), the Arctic Char and the scallops. We also tried the tuna tartare and the fried pickles as starters. Everything was delicious. The wait staff gave great advice on what to order -- even on wine recommendations. The ambiance on this small restaurant is trendy and romantic. I've been upstairs for the roof dining when it was Apo / Apothecary. Not ideal for Valentine's Day, but can't wait to try it out again in warmer weather at The Corner."

"This is obviously a popular spot on a Saturday night, so we were wise to reserve through Open Table. The restaurant is very narrow, but well laid out considering the space limitations. I've never before seen a bar with only two stools or a lavatory area without a door (the unisex stalls are fully private). All in all, a fun place with tasty food. The location was close to the Convention Center and our hotel."
