"This has to be the best Italian restaurant I have eaten at since living in Italy for 19 years. Even though the chef is not actually Italian (from Ecuador), he has worked and learned from the best in Italy. Service, from June was excellent.
The fish is too die for, especially the Chilean Sea Bass, and their ossobucco is fantastic and just melts in your mouth. The tiramisu was the amongst best I have ever tasted."

"Fiamma's was fabulous as usual. We took my wife's relatives to dinner there and they loved everything about the restaurant. This is by far one of our favorite places in Charlotte. The food is superb, the service good. We have been to Fiamma's at least a dozen times over the yeas and have never been disappointed."

"I love the way the folks in this restaurant pamper you. That, on top of out of-this-world food always has us leaving with a smile on our face. The last 2 meals there have been special occasions and they certainly have gone out of their way to make them special! I love this place!"

"We were disappointed in our first visit to Fiamma. The service seemed rushed and disoriented. While my husband's meal was very good, I could not eat my meal. The veal piccata was tough and chewy and had no taste. The noise level in this restaurant is very high and makes it difficult to have a conversation, which is exactly why you go to dinner. We will probably not go back."

"Our party of six was seated immediately although the restaurant was packed. The waitstaff was very helpful in making wine & food selections but the service was very slow. It's not normally this way so must have been a slow/understaffed night in the kitchen. We enjoyed the extras/attention to detail like coconut sorbet between courses and limoncello post dining. Price is reasonable and wide selection of wines & food but not overwhelming menu. The specials were good but just not as delicious as it normally is- again, off night in kitchen. We'll try again!"

"This is one of those places that sneaks up on you and really pleases. The food is always fresh and delicious. They are very accommodating when it comes to ordering outside the menu or modifying dishes within reason. The wait staff has been consistently good and knowledgeable. You'd never know from the outside of teh building what a neat little restaurant this is! This is one of our "go-to" places for date night, but our kids love it as much as we do."

"I'm not sure if this was our server's first day if his first job, but the service was pathetic. I wanted to love this place with all the feed back that i read, but even the food was just okay. The veal was dry and bland. We ordered some wine fo go with our meal but that didn't arrive until we were almost done. So we grab the check and our server walked away for anoth 10 minutes so i walked inside and paid at the bar. We got in the car and the server ran towards us to ask if we paid. He's lucky he didn't walk back inside with a black eye. I don't think we'll be back."

"Recently going to Osso I tried the Osso Bucco to compare. Huge mistake the portion was miniscule and it was dry. The presentation was nice. My fiancee had sea bass which had a nice lemon wine sauce but again it was dry and overcooked. When spending over $100 for a meal. I hope o relish the flavor rather than wish I cooked at home."

"Fiamma had the potential to be really good. Some of the food was excellent and there was a good atmosphere. It was a very busy night and while it was clear that most - if not all - people made reservations, they were either very understaffed or did not manage the timing of the tables well. The server was very overwhelmed and did not seem to be getting much assistance. I will definitely try again though."

"Nice atmosphere and pleasant staff, but really disappointing meal. Lobster stuffed ravioli sounded delicious but it was extremely salty - to the point where I could eat very little. Same with the gnocchi my companion had. Appetizer shrimp with stuffed mushrooms wasn't salty but wasn't that tasty either. Had chocolate lava cake for dessert and that was fine but nothing out of the ordinary - hard to mess up chocolate cake. A friend said they'd heard good things about the food, so I thought I'd give it a try during restaurant week. Wish I hadn't. The service was good but the food really wasn't. I paid way too much for what I got. Overall disappointing experience because of the poor quality meal."

"Fiamma has become one of our favorite go-to spots. It has friendly, reliable service and great quality food for the value. The homemade pasta is great and their Fiamma Salad (salad with avocado, shrimp and crab) is fantastic and only $12. It's not that much more than chains (if any??) so why go somewhere else. The quality seems much better than Dolce to me."

"Had a terrific first visit with my girlfriend. Philipe, the manager and Jack, our waiter were both fantastic. The veal and pasta dishes were out if this world. Philipe went above and beyond when we were stuck on a choosing between 2 bottles of wine. He simply opened both bottles and let us choose. I'm so happy to have found Fiametta's - it's my new favorite Italian restaurant."

"Fiamma is a great dining experience. First and foremost the food is delicious. Second, the atmosphere is welcoming. Actually, it has the feel of a NY restaurant, small tables and close together. Friendly service as well. Everyone in my party enjoyed their meal with expectations of returning to Fiamma!!"

"We were on business trip to the Charlotte area and found this gem! A previous review said don't let the fact that it is located in a strip mall fool you, and that is the truth! The Osso Bucco special was divine!!! But not to take away from the appetizers or desserts, but it was like butter it was so soft! Our service was impeccable. Highly recommend!"

"Everyone at the restaurant treated us superbly! I had made plans on Valentine's Day - a busy day for them - and they still managed to reserve the window table I had requested and put the flowers I had had delivered to the restaurant early in the day on the table for my valentine. They executed flawlessly and the FOOD!!! The food was simply excellent! We'll be returning again!"

"The restaurant was over packed, and under serviced. We had to wait fifteen minutes before a hostess even showed up. Our reservations weren't even taken into consideration. Several couples who "knew someone" walked in ahead of us. Maybe its not always that bad, but I will never go back."

"Nice romantic place to take a date. Went on Valentine's Day, which must be one of their busiest nights of the year. However, despite the unusually high volume of people and the overall hustle and bustle of the restaurant, the service was still great and the food was delectable. I would definitely want to go back on a "regular" night and experience more of the same great service and food."

"Food is always excellent. The "specials" are always very tempting. I put specials in quotes because some of them are specials every time-- they just don't put them on the menu. I've been there about 7-8 times and just recently tried the pasta -- since I've been tempted by the specials every time. The pasta is amazing. You can tell the difference with homemade pasta. Also, the service is excellent. Everyone is very attentive and genuinely wants you to have a good time. I was actually looking at the art during my meal and the hostess stopped at the table and asked if I needed anything because she saw me looking up as if to find my waiter. And the little surprise extras they bring make you feel like you are eating in someone's home."

"Tried Fiamma for the 1st time during Charlotte Restaurant Week. Excellent server Yoshi provided spot-on food recommendations. Course pacing was perfect. My Corvina Sea Bass was moist and delicious, but its caper sauce was a bit too much of a good thing in regard to saltiness. Sopping up some sauce with bread left just enough to enhance the fish instead of overwhelming it. The Sea Scallop with Pureed Cauliflower and Mushrooms appetizer was the hit of the evening for me, three ingredients I never would have considered putting together on my own. Also loved my Tortino di Chocolate dessert. My spouse really enjoyed the Insalata di Contadina and Tiramisu; his Veal Piccata was yummy but less tender than he expected. A great evening; we'll return!"
