"Get e eryone in your party a museum admission and arrive when you will. Abundant parking, great venue, buy last minute gift in fantastic gift shop. Venue beautiful, understated, delicious food, my sister said best chicken she ever ate. Accomodated our party of 10 with ease! Warning only open friday night for dinner, museum open til 9."

"An old friend came down from New York for the afternoon and I wanted to treat her to a special lunch. I've been a member of the Museum for years but had never dined at Granite Hill. We each had the Charcuterie and spent the next two and a half hours eating and talking. I can't imagine a more relaxed setting, conducive to catching up with an old friend.
I'm spoiled now - I'll never go to the Cafeteria again. And my friend from New York was duly impressed as well.

"We traveled from South Jersey to Philadelphia to have Brunch at Granite Hill located in the Art Museum. It was Buffet style with a variety of food stations and food items. It was all very worthwhile. After dinning we had the option to tour the Art exhibits. Convenient parking is on site."

"This was the best mother's day treat!
I had also loved the experience several years ago, on a romantic dinner while dating who is now my husband of 5 years.
I will definitely recommend it to all our friends. We parked in Fairmount Park and spent the rest of our afternoon walking around the Museum grounds in the sun...

"We were at the restaurant for (Mother's Day) brunch - it was very nice. Just a little hectic getting into the art museum b/c of the Race for the Cure marathon that day, but it was easier than in past years. This was our 16th Mother's Day brunch there - a great idea for Moms who enjoy art and great food. The food was, as usual, great (thanks Mr. Starr!) And the staff was BEYOND pleasant! They were very attentive and helpful, never had to ask for anything. Also thanks to Eric the manager, who ask patrons for feedback. Keep up the good work. Mother's Day Brunch there is the best kept secret."

"Each time we dine at Granite Hill, after a great music & art experience, we are impressed. The service is perfect and not rushed. The salmon/artichoke heart/carrots was perfectly cooked and seasoned so that the natural flavors were enhanced. Added a side listed with another entre without fuss. The experience was refreshing and comfortable. Perfect way to celebrate the end of our work week and the experience complimented the attractions of the Museum venue as a place for Jazz on a Friday night. We capped off the evening by taking a stroll down to the river to enjoy the sight of the water and boathouses and the lovely cool breeze off the water. So much natural beauty and artistry in one area was a joy to experience. Coming back soon."

"This was our first experience having Brunch this past Sunday. A friend was in the city for the first time attending a conference and she wanted to see the Art Museum and of course the Rocky statue and steps before making her train! We met her after the conference was over and decided to take her to the Granite Hill for brunch. It worked out perfectly. We were able to relax, catch up before her train and the food was very good. Our young friend and I chose the white bean soup and roasted beet salad. My husband had the omelet with brie along with the sweet basket. Everything was very good and nicely presented. We plan on having lunch again on our next visit to the museum and perhaps dinner should the timing be appropriate."

"This was our first trip to Granite Hill. The service was wonderful! The hostess was welcoming, our waiter (Craig) was personable and professional, and the food runners were friendly and helpful. Our waiter guided us to vegetarian options. There were not as many vegetarian options as we would have liked but the what we did order was wonderful.
Based on the decor alone, it really does not seem like a "special event" place just because the space is poorly-lit and boring. Other Steven Starr restaurants have better ambiance.
Overall, worth a try if you are visiting the museum."

"Service was terrific(our server was very informative about the food and the art work surrounding us. The food was really good(Porcini mushroom Pappardelle noodles with Swiss chard had just a little bit too much oil but the flavor was spot on) Roasted chicken was very tender and tasty. Desserts were really really good(toasted pound cake with apples and vanilla bean gelato) Peach cobbler was amazing not too sweet. Our table of 4 all agreed we would dine at Granite Hill again. Oh and the Bloody Mary was one of the best I've had. On the small side for 10.00 but had awesome flavor and a real kicky spice to it. It would be amazing if they added a celery stick and a jumbo shrimp on the edge-Yummy."

"Nice restaurant and great setting in the museum. Since this was a buffet style meal, i would have to rate the food as good. It was nothing really fancy meal wise, and the food i found was not hot enough, and portions of the meal were loaded with to much salt. Unsure if i would try again, but i should mention again, it was buffet style so that may have been a factor in my visit. It would probably be better to judge this restaurant on a freshly prepared meal. In all fairness, i will have to go back and try it again to give a true rating."

"I have been to the Philadelphia Art Museum for lunch on many occasions recently and before S. Starr took it over as "Granite Hill." ALWAYS, I enjoyed my food very much, the ambience very pleasant. On Easter Sunday, I was totally disappointed. The buffet was sad, food warm at best, and unattractive. I will admit some items that looked unappetizing actually tasted quite good such as the fish (warm but not hot) and the pork(also barely warm). Dessert bar and buffet should have been ALWAYS kept plentiful and were not. Staff was quite pleasant and took the edge off our unhappiness. ThThe back room makes you feel exactly that way, very unattractive. I wish that the museum would go back to their former, purveyor. "Names" are not everything."

"Went for Easter brunch- 2nd year in a row; it is a prix fixe buffet rather than the usual ala carte. The food was quite good, although they ran out of at least one dessert item before we got to the table. They also had flavored waters which was a nice touch. The assortment was good, although I have been to comparable brunches in the area with a wider assortment. Still we were pleased with the meal. It is a bit pricey- $45 per person for what is largely an omelet, smoked fish, scrapple/ham, salad, and a dessert. Pricey but well prepared; it is a lovely setting and we will likely go back."

"I frequently dine at Granite Hill with my wife and we are always very pleased with our dining experience. Years ago a professional acquaintance of mine was an employee of the Museum of Art, and I used to dread our required business lunches in the museum restaurant. Now I come to the museum just FOR the restaurant. The service is impressively efficient, friendly and knowledgeable. "This, my fourth time at Granite Hill, was a great disappointment... The waitress had attitude, and we waited forty minutes for our food to arrive before finally asking another waiter to see about our order. This other waiter also finally served our lunch to us because our waitress had completely disappeared. When eventually served, the Croque Madame was lukewarm and the grilled salmon dried out - obviously because it sat in the kitchen too long before being served. Our waitress finally appeared with the bill. With the restaurant half empty, we could not understand what could have caused our miserable experience other than an uncaring and cavalier staff!"

"My 3rd time to Granite Hill and a bit disappointing. The food was just not as good. I remember the crab cakes being outstanding. This time they were somewhat dry and the accompanying salad was actually bitter or sour -- just not good at all. The plate looked "lonely" for the price. Others at the table did enjoy their French Toast and the Eggs Benedict. Will give it another try in the future and hope I can say "it's great, again!"."

"Three of us had lunch while at the Museum for a special event. Extremely pleasant environment to have conversation with friends and family while eating. WE thought thefood was pleasant but lacked distinction. Tuna nicoise salad was bland, greens were standard from a package arugula and a bit tasteless and salad lacked some special touch to make it tastier. Chefs table was inviting; two of us ate from that menu. Felt dishes were okay. Praised the cheeses. It is quiet, great service, pleasant and convenient if you are at the museum. Somewhat pricey. Nice to have sparkling wine in the middle of the day."

"This lovely restaurant housed inside the Philadelphia Museum of Art is one we enjoyed on a previous visit to the area. Our Sunday lunch/brunch was made even more delightful by our server, Amy. Her enthusiastic description of the chicken salad filled with greens, thin slices of apples and roasted squash tossed with a cider vinaigrette was on target. The bacon and brie omelet was also a big hit. A perfect meal in a beautiful setting."
