Located just steps from Michigan Avenue in the heart of Chicago's thriving Streeterville neighborhood, Sayat Nova is a cozy, romantic enclave tucked back from the city's urban sprawl. Since 1970, we have offered Armenian cuisine that presents a slightly earthier variation on typical Mediterranean fare.
"Great place for groups- with reservations for seating. This is a wonderful, cozy, informal den of great food and very reasonably priced wine. I wish they had brinza and real lavash (Ho!), but even these shortcomings do not detract. Go here! Service was also top notch."

"Great ethnic (Armenian) restaurant close to the Sheraton Hotel. Pleasant and attentive staff, good selection of food, well prepared and tasty. Not expensive a worthwhile dining experience."

"This was one of the best meals we've had recently. Everything was so flavorful & fresh from the hommus to the combo skewer. Delicious & reasonably priced. Will definitely return. Try this place--tasty!!"

"This was my second time at Sayat Nova. I have to say, the food is great and that's why I came back. The service, however, leaves much to be desired. Waitstaff appear to have no training whatsoever. I can't tell you how many times the waitress had to reach over me to poor water into my glass. Each time she pressed uncomfortably against me. The waiter was even worse. I had to call him over to order and to get the check."

"I was looking for a place for a business dinner where there would be a topic we could turn to if the business topic did not go as I had hoped for. In short, the setting was great for the business meeting and the ethnic food was cause for much discussion. The food was excellent with the right amount of service but not too much. All in all it was fantastic. I would go back for business or personal outing in a heartbeat."

"It's hard to sum this up--ordinarily, I love trying new food, and typically love anything in the Middle Eastern/Eastern European neck of the woods. But my meal at Sayat Nova was, while not bad, unremarkable. I dined with two coworkers, and both of them seemed much more enthusiastic, so maybe I just ordered the wrong thing. A nice little place, and maybe worth a second chance when I'm back in town..."

"The venerable Sayat Nova has been around for years & it has not lost a step. While the food is not what I would call gourmet, it is an excellent initiation into Armenian cuisine. The portions are large and the cooking is tasty. Service is prompt, warm and friendly. While certainly not a Michelin experience, Sayat Nova is a fun and rewarding dining experience."

"Good introduction to Armenian cuisine. Food was flavorful and service attentive although a little bit too speedy (which may not be an issue for most diners; but I enjoy taking my time...)"

"If you like Middle Eastern style food in a romantic, cozy setting, this is a great spot in the heart of the Mag Mile. The restaurant has been a fixture at this spot for decades. Of course, it isn't Middle Eastern but Armenian - but features some similar dishes (tenderloin and chicken kabobs) and plenty more that are all very appetizing."

"I enjoyed my main dish, which was trout. It had a very nice flavor. My husband's lentil soup was not hot enough. Dessert--kind of a baklava thing with cream--was very good. My husband's lamb dish, according to him, was just so-so. Prices are very reasonable."

"Very good food. Armenian, how about that?! We were surprised and pleased. Sayat Nova we learned is named for a famed Armenian, poet, musician, religious mystic of the 18th century. This restaurant takes its food and heritage seriously. My wife and I had a great time. So many interesting ethnic dishes to choose from. Lots of fun. Good prices."
