"Booked a table @ The Vu for Mother's Day Brunch -- Everything from the valet service to the hostess to our wonderful waiter Dominic was top notch. We showed up late for our reservation and the hostess was very accommodating, seated us within 10 minutes at a great table with a "view" of the NYC skyline and One World Trade. The only drawback was that the food was OK and a little pricey. Ended up spending $155 for 3 people (tip included). However, I would go back and strongly recommend for those looking for a nice restaurant for a special occasion."

"The Vu was not what I expected and did not garnish any good reviews from moms who I wanted to treat to a really nice experience. The view of Manhattan skyline was nice but that was it. Service was good but the price for meal was 30% more than you would pay at a Michelin star restaurant. Tables and decor was cafeteria-like and did not impress at all."

"The entire staff seemed great from door men to valets to the restaurant team. Our waiter Dominck was especially amazing. He was so friendly and attentive and really knew the menu very well. He was extremely helpful and really understands how much excellent customer service matters. I came with my parents and they felt the same way. We are certainly coming back and asking for Dominick!!! Thanks so much."

"The Vu restaurant is just as advertised on all the reviews. The view across the river of lower Manhattan during the sunset and early evening is definitely a must experience. The plus was the food, which was outstanding. The mushroom risotto was the best I've ever had. Also, ourour waiter made our evening special, attending to the dinner necessities, answering our questions, and leaving us alone to savor the moment. Overall just an outstanding experience. Thank you open table for making the reservation so easy to make."

"Restaurant is located off the main lobby of the Hyatt in Jersey City. On the water's edge with a wonderful view of NYC. It is a typical hotel restaurant. The menu is not extensive, but the food quality was good. Don't go there expecting an outstanding dining experience. Wide-open room with plenty of seating, so you can conduct business without having to yell.

The service in the restaurant was surprisingly attentive and accommodating. Very well done."

"We've had several brunches here. Floor-to-ceiling windows provide great views of the river and Manhattan. Dining room is large and spacious. Food is generally good, though not outstanding. Prices are a bit high, typical of hotel restaurants. Nice for a special occasion. They validate for valet parking (it still costs $10). All in all, would try again for dinner."

"This restaurant is one of the best kept secrets in Jersey City and Hudson County in general. The quality of the food and service are superb, and the scenic views to Manhattan skyline are unbeatable! This is the perfect place to celebrate any special occasion, just make sure to ask for a table with a direct view to the river and Manhattan. Best time to dine is in the early evening when the sun has just set for the most spectacular colors in Manhattan."

"Overall I wasn't blown away by Vu, as I had expected to be. The service was really great, however. We went on Valentines day and they had some nice touches like free champagne and chocolates, for example. So the thought was there.

The execution however was wasn't up to the standard I held them to (and Hyatt's in general). The fish was sub-par, especially for it's $40 price tag. The furniture is starting to show it's age, and was, at least on this day, not arranged in such a way that people could enjoy the restaurant's biggest draw, the view! Most couples ended up changing the layout of their tables to more a a french cafe style so that everyone could see the skyline. Might advise the restaurant to play on this a bit more."

"menu descriptions sound better than the actual dish. Service was very good but we were there early, only a few tables were seated. The view of Manhattan is spectacular.
The scallop appetizer was nicely presented and cooked perfectly but bland. The short ribs were tender but stringy and the salmon was just mediocre."
