"We went to Mica because of a special dinner that I read about. It is a small restaurant seatin about 40+ people. The food was top notch. The restaurant serves modern american food with a changing menu based on ingredients. I learned that from talking to our server, Will, who was fabulous. The service is classical french style. They also have a nice wine list with very reasonable prices. Although the restaurant is quite a ride from home we would venture out there again."

"Each and every single thing was phenomenal. The service was attentive without being intrusive, the wine suggestions were great and the food was simply amazing. We did the 5 course tasting menu and each course was wonderful and inventive, using many very fresh, seasonal items. The foie gras ravioli with chicken liver ragu may have been one of the best things I have ever eaten, literally. Because of the price of our meal, this isn't an every day kind of place (for us), but we will certainly be looking for ANY excuse in the very near future to return. Just wonderful."

"The restaurant's food is very good. Center city good but...the room is awkward, the rooms are noticeably cold in the winter (turn the heat up or get a blanket), the chairs are uncomfortable, our waitor was horrible, and our meal took 3.5 hours which was not of our chosing. He also didn't know the menu, diappeared for very long periods, didn't check on our table consistenly and then got 20% because we were a party of 6. 20%!! We were too polte to bring it up to the hostess, or whatever she was because we didn't know. I'm not sure if I would return, no matter how good the food is, because I value an entire evening out too much to be cold, uncomfortable, annoyed and then perturbed by having to pay for great service, which we didn't receive."

"The menu was better than the food. I was excited about the menu but disappointed everything was very over salted/seasoned. The foie gras tasted just like salted butter, couldn't taste the bone marrow in the ravioli, duck over salted with side of soy- so not needed. Loved the coddled hen egg soup. Portions were small/over priced which I wouldn't mind if the quality had been there. Service was great and loved the space."

"It was my husband's 70th birthday dinner. Mica was an experience which lived up to that celebration. While every course was delicious, the outstanding dishes of the evening were the foi gras, the marrow ravioli, and the pork tenderloin. The amuse bouche and the complimentary chocolate truffles were a special treat. "Went here for my birthday dinner and decided to go because of all of the opentable favorable reviews. We started with the tuna tartar which was very flavorful and refreshing. I had a duck dish as my entree and it was perfectly cooked and the sauce was very delicious. My husband had the prefixed menu and he enjoyed the salmon as his entree and I believe it was a black fish appetizer that he got that was delightful.
This place is a neighborhood gem and we will go back."

"So for our third trip to Mica we desided to try the Lobster tasting. It seems on Wednesdays and Thursdays they feature a special ingredient and base a four course meal around it. Our favorite dish of the evening was the lobster pot pie. It was simply amazing! Just a word to the wise, these tasting nights are quite popular. "This is one of our favorite date night places! The food is absolutely amazing - my husband and I had the 7 course tasting menu - and every single dish was a hit. Wine selection also great. The mushroom soup was like buttery goodness, and the fish and avocado with wasabi sauce was so different and innovative and delicious. I think Chip Roman's restaurants and food are always amazing, and I highly recommend. Service was also spot on. We will be coming here again and again!"

"The food was amazing!!! My husband and I went using a gift card we got for Christmas. Everything was delicious and the service was impeccable! I highly recommend the escargot and roasted duck if it is available on the menu. We will definitely be going back in the future."

"My husband and I went for an early Valentine Special Dinner and we were no disappointed. We had a cozy table and although the restaurant was full, it was not at all noisy. The waitress explained our choices for ordering and highly suggested that since the owner/chef was there, we should order the tasting menu-terrific advice. We had the most delicious meal, served slowly. Plates are elegant, not too much food, but just enough, Amazing flavors. Our foie gras was outstanding, as well as rabbit, scallop, creme brulee, chocolate ganache, etc. it was so much fun to be suprised with each course. Mica is a must for a special dinner. hats off to everyone working in the restaurant and to Chip."

"This is now my favorite restaurant in Philly which is tucked in Chestut Hill. The food is outstanding and the atmosphere is sophisticated yet warm! Clean flavors and great combinations. The desserts were delicious and and way to complete the meal. The pudding is highly recommended with the smooth flavor and consistency."

"We have eaten at Mica several times and we have also eaten at the related restaurant, Blackfish in Conshohocken. Our experience has been that the food and service at Mica have been getting stronger and stronger over time. They are near the top of the list in terms of food interest and quality. Our complaint this time was that we were seated in the back room next to a woman who spent the entire time talking on her cell phone and then talking at her companion at an inappropriately loud level. We will make a point of avoiding that back room in the future."

"Everything was just OK. Drove from Center City to try it, but it's not worth it. This is just another suburban restaurant that ends up getting critic bonus points for being outside Center City. The food was decent, and the service was good, but there was wayyyy tooo much time between courses. It took so long to get our pre-dinner cocktails that we were in the process of cancelling them in exchange for a bottle of wine, when they finally came. It was a Saturday night, but still...if you're not prepared for a busy Saturday night at a "supposedly" great restaurant...maybe you're not as great as you think."
