"I arrived 5 min before my reservation and announced myself at the host desk. I was told that because my dining companion had not yet arrived I would not be allowed to be seated. When my dining companion did arrive we approached the host and told that because we arrived late for our reservation we would have to wait 45 minutes for a table. I explained that I arrived on time, checked in and had been turned away. We were eventually led to a table for two."

"We went to Casa de Pedro on Cinco de Mayo. The food was DELICIOUS! Pedro himself walks around the restaurant chatting with people at the tables. Our waiter, Pablo was friendly, had good suggestions on what to order and he even got me one of the mustaches that they were giving out for the occasion! Unfortunately there were no more sombreros left.
We had a GREAT time!

"We went there last night (my 4th time), and I have not seen this place busier... must have something to do with Cinco de Mayo!
This place is relatively quieter on weeknights.
The energy of the place did not affect the quality of service though.
Our appetizer (ceviche) arrived fast, our sangria (a bit weak IMHO... should have stayed with the margaritas) too.
My Cordero, medium rare, was indeed medium rare and delicious.
My GF's Pabellon Criollo was typical, traditional fare but that too was flavorful and generously sized.
This place is relatively quieter on weeknights.

"Casa De Pedro is a local favorite of mine, and this time it was great as usual. Every time I eat lunch or dinner there, the food is consistently tasty and fresh. Takeout has been a hit-or-miss recently. When I order a salad with grilled chicken for dine-in, the chicken is hot off the grill, the veggies are fresh, and the presentation and service is always great. Same meal for takeout has proved disappointing - last time they sent me home with a salad covered in chicken that had been sitting out so long that I could barely bite thru it."

"We has a phenomenal meal here. My sister has a complicated digestive disorder and the chef came out and went out of his way to accommodate her. It is rare that she can enjoy a meal like this. The food was incredible and we had a great time. I can't recommend it enough."

"Good South American food, mostly Venezuela influences, great selection of quality drinks - Arepas appetizer is a favorite, as is the trout, salmon, and almost all the meats dishes. Restaurant is in a rehabbed former Army building at the Watertown Arsenal; the huge space (20 foot ceilings) is nicely decorated, and helps make the festive buzz seem not too loud. People were there with kids, for date night, and lots of groups both small and large. We were there on a Saturday night and they had live Latin music (Santana-ish), an added bonus. Very comfortable, very fun. Table was ready at Reservation time, and the waitstaff was friendly and helpful."

"We enjoyed our dinner, as always. The wait staff was great and very patient with us since one person got caught it traffic and was very late.
I have to say, I was a little put off by the pronouncement on the web page that our reservations were only good for 2 hours. We were done and left before that, but wow, how to make people feel unwelcome! Also, we had to plead to get seated at our table before the last member of our party arrived, despite the fact that the dinning room was empty and we had reservations. Very unfriendly!
I go to dinner with friends once a month and have eaten here before, and they don't want to come back because of these two issues, despite the fact that the food and service is always very good. Too bad. ."

"My daughter, a friend and I went to the restaurant for lunch before we were going to attend a function at the Armenian Library and Museum of America in Watertown Square. We were pleasantly surprized at how delicious and fresh the food was! We figured it had to be good as there were many Spanish speaking people there and we figured they would know great Latin food! Definitely planning on going back! Everyone was very friendly. Food took a little longer to get to us but we figure it was because they make everything so fresh!"

"We showed up for our 6:30 pm reservation and checked in with the host/maitre d'. He walked us to a small table which we did not like so we requested to sit at one of the other free tables. The Maitre d', Elias, reacted extremely rude and showed considerable arrogance. He told us we could get on a waiting list for a different table, but it would take a minimum of 30 minutes, which made no sense since there were several empty tables. Because we had theater tickets we accepted the table. Shortly after we sat down, others, also parties of two, sat at the other tables. Elias' rudeness and arrogance set us up for a very negative experience. No interest in going back there."

"We had an early (5:15) dinner reservation, and found a lot of small children seated nearby. All reasonably well behaved but still a bit loud. I think we might find a different crowd at a later hour. I had a red snapper special with shrimp and mussels that was delicious. I love the yuca and plantain that come with almost every dinner entree - of course how can anything deep fried taste bad? My dinner partner had a something traditionally Venezuelan that he also enjoyed. The coconut flan for dessert was also delish. We will be back."

"We came here before a NewRep play, and it's a good choice for that. Very convenient. I was worried about the service, based on what I had read, but we had an attentive server, so I thought the service was the best part. We had two different ceviches. The seafood mango one was very good, although it was spicy, which is why I didn't order it. The shrimp was just a few shrimp in a tomato sauce, not even a fresh salsa, but a sauce. Terrible. The beef and chicken dish had the meat cut into such tiny pieces that they were severely overcooked and dry. The cod, however, was delicious. The chocolate flan was grainy and not worth the calories. So, it's possible to eat well here, and it's possible to order badly and not eat well at all."

"Great place for pre- or post-theater meals. Good mixed drinks. We loved the shirt steak with chimchurri and the osso bucco, though portions were too large. We were seated in a corner round booth, perfect for 6 people who wanted a conversation. The live music was fun but would have been too loud to allow conversation if we'd been sitting out in the middle of the dining room. The waitress was friendly and informative, and vigilant as a hawk about spotting an allergen on my special meal - she found it and sent it back before I even noticed a problem. She was obviously very well trained about food allergies, which I appreciated!"

"At first we were seated by a screaming child, but we asked for another table and we were moved some where quieter without an issue. My husband was given the wrong dish for lunch, but the waitress recognized it before she put it on the table and they had the other dish out in a few minutes. So while there were a few minor problems, they were resolved quickly. We've been for dinner several times, but this was our first time for lunch. I was impressed by the size of the lunch entrees."

"Suberb food, very tasty and nicely presented, with a great many options: there is something for any carnivore here. Also most of the dishes are Gluten Free, and the staff seems well versed in this. Caipirinhas are a bit sweet: more cachasa please! When the band plays the noise level rises and it is hard to hear the company you are dining with. Try and get a table in the back away from the noise if this is going to bother you. Waitstaff and Maitre d' make you feel right at home. All in all, very tasty, and fun in a group or small outing."

"Great selection of cocktails, good food, and good atmosphere. We have been a couple times before, and it can be alittle loud, but Sundays are a bit quieter. I don't think there are any bad seats in the whole restaurant. Some give you a view of the kitchen, some the bar area, and some these awesome fish tanks. This is certainly a great place a date night."

"I have been eating at Pedro's restaurant since it was a tiny place in Watertown Square. Though they moved to Arsenal street years ago, to a location 10 times the size, the quality of the food remains as outstanding as ever and the decor is even more remarkable then ever. You step off the slushy street s of wintertime in Boston and into a tropical paradise, where people out to dinner or drinks are treated to live Caribbean music on the weekends, friendly service, and an extensive food and drink list that transports you straight to Venezuela. Best of all, chef extraordinaire Pedro comes out to schmooze with diners. A loyal customer of more than 10 years, I plan to enjoy many more meals here in years to come!"

"Went with husband and our best friend couple. The drinks were wonderful-- especially the 10Cane mojito. Portions were huge. Didn't expect the live music, and it complemented our dinner. The mood brought us back to the Caribbean. Lots of fun. I would have given it a 5, but the music was a little loud and the wait for dessert was long."

"I love the feeling of the restaurant and the food was great. My family and I had some of the Tapas dishes, and we also enjoyed the white sangria which I definitely recommend. Also, they don't have many choices on desserts but the flan was to amazing and so were the cappuccinos!"
