"We wanted a good restaurant to celebrate our civil partnership with a special friend. I Googled "top resaturants in Toronto" and several places came up, one being Auberge du Pommier. After some thought I picked it even though it seemed to be some distance from where we were staying downtown. How thankfully we all are that I stuck with it. Quite simply it was the best meal any of us has had in our entire lives (that adds up to 180 years!! We have given 5 stars for all the above headings, but this establishment deserves 10! And why it has not got 3 Michelin stars is a clearly an oversight on the part of that guide. There isn't enough space here to describe how perfect everything was - the best thing is to go and experience it yourself."

"Auberge du Pommier is a wonderful restaurant for an intimate dinner. It replicates the fresh, modern perspective on food which is found in all of the Oliver and Bonacini family of restaurants. As a guest, you are treated with the utmost respect. Each dish comes out in a timely manner and its preparation and ingredients are thoroughly explained. The entrees are composed of unique combinations of ingredients and similar flavours are mimicked throughout the courses. The spiced macaroons at the end are a nice touch as a farewell gesture. We will definitely be back for future special events."

"My wife ordered the Porcelet (St.Canut Suckling Pig) and enjoyed the meal very much but found the pig skin to be a bit tough. My dry-aged rib eye steak was excellent -- very juicy and tasty. The steak was grilled to perfection. Our waiter and other servers were very friendly, knowledgeable and professional. We will definitely come back!"

"I took my boyfriend here for a special birthday, and although the restaurant was beautiful, the service wonderful, and the food was very inventive, it simply was not very tasty. We had the Chef's tasting menu, and after we received the $300 bill, I was not overly impressed. Go for the ambiance, not the food."

"I was put to sit at a table that's located in the middle of the traffic. For the entire night I was seeing servers and their staffs walking back and forth and back and forth in fast forward motion in front of our table that made me felt dizzy the whole dinner. Had difficulties locating our server. And the server gave attitudes."

"We visit the Auberge every year to celebrate our wedding anniversary, and this year we decided to try their Potager Menu. This menu is a vegetarian's delight and features some exquisitely prepared courses where the emphasis is on flavour and presentation.
Soy milk custard is silky-smooth, savoury with a hint of sweetness, probably best described as "Spring on a Plate".
The Roasted Beet tart was so precisely organised that it seemed a shame to eat it (excellent taste!)
The Omelette had a foamy texture that resembled a souffle and the Cauliflower Agnolotti was a masterpiece of deep layered flavours.
The Lillet dessert was a refreshing end to the meal.
Suggestion: courses are prepared while-you-wait, so allow 2-3 hours."

"I came here to celebrate a special romantic occasion. Food & service were excellent. It hit my expectations for a fancy night out and the tasting menu went very well with the wine pairings. I thought it was worth every penny, and I appreciated the two palate cleansers that went with it.
$150 for 6 wine pairings, 5 courses, & 2 palate cleansers was reasonable. They made a (good) mistake with one of my pairings and offered me the previous day's selection for pairing and I was glad that they did it as I liked the chilled & sparkly Cava better than the one they had"

"Four of us celebrated birthdays here. Although expensive you certainly got what you paid for. The food was wonderful, and the service was elegantly friendly, not in your face, but not snooty like other unbearable dining spots in this price range, near by.
We had a very pleasant and memorable night. I down graded the noise score only because I am hard of hearing and my hearing aids picked up a noisy table of expense account guys directly behind me."

"We celebrated a special family birthday last week at Auberge du Pommier. This was not our first visit, so we have very high expectations. The staff not only met those expectations, but they exceeded them. Staff were professional, friendly and knowledgeble about all aspects of the food and wine. This is not an inexpensive restaurant, but this is a special place and you get value for the dollars spent. Our food was outstanding from appetizer to entree. The service was unrushed and very attentive from our arrival until the time we said goodnight. Every course was presented well and arrived prepared as we had ordered. Well done Auberge du Pommier!!"

My smoked mussel soup appetizer was incredible, I forced myself to put down my spoon after every bite so I could savour it anew each time. The wine pairings could have been better, three of the four were average, and only one wine was outstanding. However that is a small complaint to a fabulous evening - great ambiance, food and overall experience."

"Had the Menu Gourmand tasting menu. It was stellar. Particularly memorable were:
* the mousse de foie gras over black sesame cake, with Meyer lemon sauce, black sesame tempura and shiso leaf
* the scallop with sea urchin and capelli d'angelo quenelle with shaved truffle & parmesan mélange

The wine pairings with the tasting menu were also impeccable.

"We've heard a lot of wonderful things about Auberge and it didn't disappoint us:) First of all I absolutely love the atmosphere and the overall French countryside feel to it - it's really exquisite and yet very cozy. The food was great, our appetizers were absolutely astounding - tempura frog legs and sea scallop with urchin spaghettini were soooo good I still keep thinking about those appetizers - really recommend to try these dishes!

"This restaurant is one of the best in Toronto. It's main feature is service excellence, from the minute you enter to when you leave. Auberge staff are a team, and they are in sync, and they treat you so well, you feel like you are the only people there.
The food focuses on pleasing your palate. We tried the tasting menu. There were some really great items and some were not my preference. But overall an excellent presentation of the food.
Prepare for an amazing dining experience here!"

"This was our first visit to Auberge du Pommier. We already had a favourite French restaurant in Toronto - Auberge du Pommier did not succeed in stealing that title. That said, it was quite good overall. The ambience was nice - but the neon blue Evangel Temple sign outside the window severely detracted from the elegant atmosphere. The service was decent - our waitress was friendly and seemed reasonably knowledgeable. The food was very good - top marks for presentation. In terms of value for money - I am used to getting a grander experience when I put down $350+ for a dinner for two. Bottom line - we would go back to Auberge du Pommier."

"Auberge du Pommier is one of the few restaurants in Toronto that you can count on for a consistently excellent meal, and great service. The food is always perfect, and the ambiance is beautiful.
