"The Fixed price menu for Restaurant Week was one of the best of the several I looked at on line. The presentation of the food was fabulous. My entree was very good, Dinner was great value. We sat on the patio. Despite the hot weather, it was a delight. When the sun went down and the lights came on in the garden, it was a perfect spot for dining."

"Lavender Bistro provided not only a very generous and sumptuous menu for Restaurant Week. but also presented an elegant ambience. It was, by far, our favorite. The trio of soups was an enticing combination of fresh vegetables, color, a variety of tastes and a perfect presentation. Our choices of Entrees; Sea Bass and Roasted Rack of lamb were perfectly prepared. The tomato concasse with huckleberries was a perfect complement for the lamb. To top off this amazing meal we were presented with a sampler platter of four very decadent desserts. The staff was most attentive, but not intrusive. We had a fabulous evening and will certainly return."

"We say outside and for a romantic evening away from our child (thanks grandparents). The food was excellent and the waiter very very knowledgable out the food prep and wines.

"Even though it was 99 degrees at 6:30 we still ate outside on the patio! The fans kept the air moving and it was quite comfortable. The patio is quite charming and the food was delicious! It was a lovely experience!"

"but not what I had expected - this is a large restaurant with dozens and dozens of tables. MY bad for not researching! The maitre d' was very patient with us as we vacillated between indoors or outdoors for dining and then changed our minds after we'd sat down! We went during restaurant week and none of us were disappointed with our food. Rack of lamb was the favorite at the table with the Duck Breast a close second"

"We had a very enjoyable evening with our large group and the food and service were very good. However, when we went to check out the management would not split our tab by couples which caused some issues because a number of our group do not drink and wanted separate bills. The management did take and run separate credit cards from each couple but would not split the tab other than to divide it equally among the cards.
The Bistro's half off bottle of wine specials was great and their Palm Springs Restaurant Week specials were superb. Everyone enjoyed their meals. They also had entertainment on their outdoor patio and in the bar so a number of the couples stayed and watched the hockey finals and continued to enjoy themselves."

"Ambiance was amazing. Such a beautiful setting to relax and enjoy a fabulous meal. Food presentation was impeccable as well as the all the textures and flavors of each appetizer, entree and dessert ordered. We tried this restaurant for the first time as we saw it listed in the Restaurant Week website. Everything was fabulous for service, friendliness, ambiance, food quality and the very soothing live music. Made for a perfect evening for a girls nite out. Will definitely make this a favorite dining spot every time we make it down to the Coachella valley and will highly recommend this restaurant to everyone we know."

"2nd time here; first in outdoor patio. For a place open during June when it can get REAL hot, it's unbelievable there are no misters., just some fans on stands. It was miserable outside on June 5. As many others have said, service is very slow. Restaurant week 3 course menu of $38 per person: trio of cold soups (tomato, carrot, potato/leek) was a 6 on 10 pt. scale. Duck breast was nicely cooked. Chilean sea bass was served in a curry sauce and seemed a poor choice for such good fish. 1 glass of La Terraza Malbec wine was $12, most single glasses were similarly priced. Complaints that the specialty cocktails weren't served cold enough. Appreciated the live piano by Bob Allen. Very nice ambiance and is a great spot for us locals."

"This restaurant has the friendliest, well-dressed and thoughtful servers around. The food we had was tops (duck and salmon) and the three chilled sampler soups were superb. "This really is a special place. During Food Month, they serve a three course meal for $38.00. It is not only a bargain but a wonderful dining experience.
Corkage is $20 for those who bring their own wine. Not bad considering how posh the restaurant.

"Had a great dinner on the patio here. Tried a special that wasn't on the menu and got a rib eye cooked just right. The mushroom soup was delicious. Piano player/singer was great and it was a beautiful patio for outdoor dining. Food would have been 5 stars if my wife wouldn't have had to send back her slightly over cooked steak (she likes it rare). They were very apologetic and offered us a free dessert, but we were stuffed. All in all it was a great experience and we will be back."

"Food was excellent. Ambiance was beautiful. Hostesses were patronizing and passive aggressively mean while speaking polite. Asked to be seated on the patio, we had a very early reservation, and we were told that it was absolutely impossible because they were booked up for the evening. When we left half the restaurant was empty including the patio. Waiter was not existent. The bus staff poured our bottle of wine, served our meal and helped us pay our bill. We waited 15 min to get offered drinks when seated and another 10 min for our bill (from another waiter) after our plates were finally cleared. We were never offered dessert. Seriously disappointed after our friends had rave reviews. Really BAD customer service as other reviews stated."

"The food is good, but the main reason to enjoy this restaurant for dinner is the beautiful outside patio. However, when making your reservation on Open Table, you need to specify you would like a table on the patio. If you don't, you will be seated inside, which we found out the hard way. I would not recommend this restaurant if you sit inside."

Only thing that I would say about the service is that the bus folks were almost too eager to take your plates away. almost hovering until you finished. Actually took away my bread plate before I had finished it and since they don't speak English - don't ask questions or respond. Minor point though - extremely good food and ambiance. "VERY COLORFUL AND VIBRANT FLOWERS REAL AND FAKE ARE ALL OVER THE PLACE, LAVENDER COLORS EVERYWHERE. VERY PRETTY AND ROMANTIC . VERY CLEAN, HIGH CLASS. LOVED THIS PLACE. MY SON AND HUSBAND TOOK ME FOR MOTHER'S DAY. THEYHAD A SPECIAL MENU AND WE ALL GOT DIFFERENT ENTREE AND DESSWERTS AND IT WAS OUTSTANDING. THE MAITRE D KEPT THE FRESH CHAMPAGNE FLOWING, THE SERVERS KEPT UP THE TABLE VERY NICELY. IT WAS A VERY NICE EXPERIENCE. THEY HAVE GORGEOUS GIANT DISPLAYS OF SILK LAVENDER, ORCHIDS, ETC ON TABLE AND ALL THE WINE GLASSES HAVE LAVENDER COLORED NAPKINS IN THEM. JUST SO PRETTY AND NICE AND RELAXING. "Patio does not look like web site, not like a garden more like a overcrowded parking lot . Would have liked to see some items on the menu infused with lavender, menu Ed nothing impressive but the food we ordered was very good . To many people crammed into one spot. "This restaurant came highly recommended and we were disappointed with the service and the value. My wife selected the Halibut curry special and it was delicious! Yet it was overly expensive and way out of line with the other fish or seafood items on the menu. It was nice to be able to order the half portion of the salad. I ordered the half portion of the risotto, but the full portion arrived. The service was a slow and inattentive to details.
In the future, I believe the restaurant may want to inform diners of the cost of each special and pay closer attention to the details of the order."

"The Lavender Bistro is a beautiful setting and we have always enjoyed excellent food, however our recent 8:00 p.m. reservation brought us in as the early diners were enjoying desert and coffee and the restaurant was too crowded, too noisy and the service was hit and miss. If you dine at Lavender I recommend a reservation before 7:30 or after 9:30."

"We arrived at the restaurant 45 minutes early hoping to sit in the bar and have a drink. They decided they wanted to seat us right away so we did. Half hour later no wine list , no server. we did get water and asked several times for a wine list. Finally we found another server and he took our wine order. Then came the server who pushed us to order right then. Food came out in a timely manner and was good. Too many great restaurants in this town to just be good. After our meal it was a good 20 minutes before getting the bill then another 10 minutes of me holding it in the air hoping someone would take it.
