Boutique hotel nestled near The Highline in emerging neighborhood of West Chelsea. Serving French fare with Latin flare to the art, fashion and design world in a modern, sleek and relaxed atmosphere.
The front bar is the perfect place for a cocktail before dinner and do not hesitate to visit Bar Americano located on the lower level where DJ spins every night. The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner seven days and offers weekend brunch. Outdoor dining is available seasonally.
"I was so embarrassed after taking a client to the Americano for breakfast! The waiter was so sullen (and we were very cheerful types, meeting for the first time)! I had to ask three different people more than once before I got milk for my coffee, which was cold by the time I actually got said milk. I hate having to hail service, but I had to do it a few times to order, ask for things that didn't come, and get the check. The breakfast food was middling, but not terrible. But because the service was so bad, I'll definitely never go back here. This is actually the first time I've written a review for a restaurant, good or bad, so it's not something I do often--I was just really put off by this place."

"The hotel itself is beautifully done, the textures & everything sit so well. We've had two experiences, one downstairs for a mid week brunch - we were the only couple in the dining area, but it was still super lovely, great bellini's & lovely service. The second was on the roof top bar, awful service, they were there, doing their jobs, but you could tell they couldn't care less, food was overpriced & average as compared with the delicious nosh we enjoyed downstairs, still hotel prices, but well done & lovely setting."

"I met at americano with a friend visitng out of town. We sat there for hours catching up and never felt rushed by the wait staff. Their service was great! Door and many different cocktails were wonderful.. Also they had a great jazz band for brunch, major points for that. Great experience all around!"

"The food was pretty good but some things were overpriced beyond belief!. An average ribeye steak for two was $120 dollars (while I just went to one of the best steak houses in NYC, where the steak was 10 times better and only $93). Also, when I asked for 1 pitcher of mojitos, in my wildest dreams, I would have never imagined that one medium sized pitches would cost $82!!! For a mojito? really?
Also, the steak was suppose to come with mushrooms and cheese, which is why we ordered it, and they ran out of this! Instead we got yet another order of grilled vegetables. The waiter was also difficult to both understand and hear, even though we told him we could not hear him down at our end."

"We didn't like this restaurant. No many options in brunch's menu and the service was poor in the Mother's Day for our surprise, because it was so recommended. I don't intend to go back there."

"This area is lacking in good food choices so The Americano stands out on that basis alone. Rooftop dining and ground floor garden make it quite special. We have been for drinks and for lunch and have had great food and cocktails each time. The service, unfortunately, is very slow so bring your patience. We had kale salad, chicken paillard, and fish tacos -- all were very good."

"Went for lunch at 2pm, sunny and amazing day so had booked for outside. When we got there, they had closed the outdoor area early for "construction", but when we were finished with our meal and ready, I noted several people passing from the outdoor area. So disappointed. But the food was good, a bit un-personal decoration in the downstairs dining area and hard to get attention from staff."

"This is the second time I've been to the Americano. Last month a group of us had cocktails. A reservation for fifteen was made in advance, yet the staff seemed surprised that 15 actually showed. The service was so bad!!! We were flagging down anyone who walked by, just to get a glass of water or our waiter's attention for a drink order. He was slow in taking orders, and filling them. He never came over to check on us. We finally got our check and were about to pay it when he came rushing over. He said he'd forgotten to add the 20% gratuity! The second visit was just as bad. We were ignored several times over by our waiter, who was fawning over his colleagues from Alain Ducasse. We asked for drinks and the check 3x"

"Seemed like they had the "B" them working the floor this evening. And, the soup, which has always been amazing was mediocre at best. Perhaps kitchen and staff were having a bad night. Regardless, we'll return since it's great to have a place like the Americano right around the block."

"This is a beautiful restaurant right near the High Line in Chelsea. Service was almost too attentive. Could have been the early hour we were there. Food was very, very good."

"Service is pleasant and earnest but amateurish and slow. Took forever to get cold hors d'oeuvres, i.e., radishes and olives that didn't have to be cooked, just spooned into small serving dishes and brought to the table. Then they dropped one of our entrees (there were four of us), having already delivered the others, and then didn't say anything to the table until an unusually long period had passed, leaving us all wondering why only three of us had food. And then they didn't offer to bring anything else to the table for the one left hanging, or another drink to make it up, etc. So although we liked the space and the food, the service was too annoying for us to want to return."

"Food was fine. Service was adequate. On this recent visit, unfortunately it took three tries to get someone to answer what type of iced tea we were drinking. (the question to start was - is this hibiscus?) no one even bothered to sort it out until the third person was asked - the very nice host Estaban. Prior to that - "I'm not sure, they change it all the time" was the response from two other staff including our indifferent server. Two other questions asked were not met with knowledgable responses. A little strange for a lovely gallery-district hot spot. Will of course return for lunch as it's convenient and nice enough environment."

"The service was poor, we asked for non fat lattes and got regular, we asked for a soy latte and got a regular, it seemed that our server did not speak a lot of English but acted as if he did. The food was average, not much seasoning. It was also very slow and the servers were inconsistent. I would not go back."

"I have been here many times, and I thought it would be nice to take my boyfriend for lunch on his birthday. I was really disappointed. First, they asked me to call to reconfirm twice after my initial OT reservation. Both times I asked if they could please bring dessert with a candle (the last time being 30 minutes before our reservation). The service overall was terrible. They seem to have a bunch of people buzzing around, but it is unclear who is responsible for what, and who your waiter might be. We constantly had to accost various people -- my drink came after I was literally done with my lunch, and we had to have a manager come for the tart which came...without a candle!"

"Our server was distracted & slow. We waited almost 35 mins between the end of our meal and presentation of dessert, which had been ordered at the beginning of our meal at the Prix Fixe.
Starters were very good, mains were bland and uneventful. Rissotto was tasteless, drowned in a salty gravy to try and help. Grilled salmon and greens - nothing special added just tossed up and grilled.
Good place to come if you're looking to linger with lots of drinks with a large group and entertained within yourselves, and wont be distracted by the poor service and edible but mediocre cuisine."

"I have been at Sunday brunch twice in the last month. I love the ambiance with the live jazz bands.
Unfortunately the food is just so so... bacon was uncooked, chicken didn't have much taste, club wasn't a club,... eggs were not very special, bacon was fat, frijoles were ok but not terrific, chilaquiles were excellent, I must admit.
They really need to up the ante on the food... it will be spectacular if they get that working!"

"Great food, poor service. I've been a frequent diner since opening and service seems to be getting worse. I was there for valentines, dinner was prixe fixe, service was slow, waiter was nonexistent. Ambiance has declined, they added some cycodelic lighting fit for a night club, not well suited for the architecture or mood of dining. They did have live entertainment that we enjoyed."
