"My grandson who like me likes French food enjoyed the meal very much, as did I. The escagots were perfect, soft and garlecky as they shoud be. We had tickets for a dance performance at the Joyce so we had the excellent , and extremely well priced pre-fix dinner. Every dish was well cooked and nicely presented. I had often been to Trois Canards at their old place on 8th avenue, and although this venue was much smaller, the food was as good as ever.C'est avec plaisir que nous vous avons retrocé"

"A small cozy restaurant with good French food. My friends and I all enjoyed the spread. We all agreed that we would definitely come back. The duck breast special was cooked perfectly, medium rare!"

"Classic French bistro fare, nicely prepared and not overpriced, served in an attractive though extremely small space. The experience is somewhat marred by overly loud music, as if the owner was trying to capture the bar scene, which is somewhere else."

"This ia a "nice" neighborhood restaurant. This was our second visit here, the first was about a year and a half ago. We enjoyed it then, even though the duck that I ordered was barely OK. Too dry and overdone. That was very surprising to me in a restaurant with "Canard" in its name. That first night (a mid-October evening) the restaurant was packed and it had a lively ambiance, so my wife and I enjoyed the evening despite the disappointing duck. We returned for a second visit recently and the restaurant was empty. With no one else around, I felt (hoped!) that the kitchen would do a better job with the duck this time. No such luck. Still disappointing. Two trys is enough. Good-bye Trois Canard."

"Cramped. Fairly good food, but if the waiter asked me a *fourth* time if I wanted a "drink" while he waved the alcoholic drink me at me while I had the water I wanted, I was gonna slap him..."

"Went post-theater. Very nice, quiet spot. Small and intimate. Excellent food. They lose a full service point for forgetting the souffle that was ordered with dinner; and rather than admitting their mistake, they kept us waiting an extra 30 minutes for it--we would have passed and picked something else as it was late."

"A charming restaurant, very small but somehow not noisy; very French in feel. A perfect place to have dinner before going to the Joyce theater just down the block."

"Trois Canards was a good dining experience. Food, atmosphere, service all good. But not great. Nice to have a calm atmosphere in this area and opposed to many loud, frenetic restaurants. But we have eaten at other places in the area with excellent food."

"I arrived for dinner at 5:30 to discover that I was the only patron in the restaurant. This was not a problem. What WAS a problem was that the music was at top volume. To the point that a conversation would have been difficult. I asked both the hostess and the waiter to please lower the volume but I was told "No. The owner likes the music to be loud". I asked if the owner was there and the response was "No. He's not around.". I put my coat on and left. It's amazing this place stays open with such little attention to the customers."

"This is a very good restaurant that tries to please and could not be more accommodating. Drinks are ample and food is fine. Is it better than that? No. But the prices are reasonable and the place is very comfortable and the wait staff is first rate. Worth the trip."

"Never again. For the first time ever, I walked out of a restaurant and left without paying. We arrived at 6 pm. After explaining to the waiter that we had theater tickets for 7:30, we waited 50 minutes for our salads and appetizers. Then, after numerous requests for our entrees and the bill, we got up and left with 10 minutes to spare before curtain time -- our entrees (or the bill) had never arrived. As we walked out, we noticed them bringing large trays of food out to a waiting van -- obviously they were catering an event and couldn't handle both a full restaurant and the catering. It was a disaster. I can't comment on the food -- apart from a basic salad, I never tasted any of it."

"The food at Trois Canards is solid and the prices are very reasonable. You will be hard-pressed to find better escargot. These came right from the shell in a beautiful presentation. The French onion soup was excellent as well. The noise level is a little extreme however."

"I wish I could tell you how this restaurant was, but after making a reservation through OpenTable and arriving early to the restaurant, we were told our reservation wasn't taken (as per the waitress who looked at handwritten reservation book) and that there were no tables at Trois Canards, but we could sit at the italian restaurant next door. Um, no thanks. So, in the end, they can take the reservation, but they can't hold the reservation."

"The Pre-Fixe menu did go up $5 this year over last. Although the food is very good and flavorful there was really no divergence from last year. They need to add some new items and change up the dessert menu with more than one choice. We did have a nice meal though and will eventually come back again."

"Our table for six was not prepared and there seemed to be some confusion about our reservation. However, a few minutes later we had our table although it was not entirely comfortable. The set up was a round table and a square table. The food was good and the service was fine. I would return."

"This used to be a fine little Chelsea gem...alas, no longer. Dinner recently included a mushroom and goat cheese tart which was soooo soppy from way too much sauce (more like canned brown gravy). The special entree item was duck in green peppercorns. I ordered it rare, but it came quite well done. Inedible. Service had been slow, and while the waiter politely took the duck back, it was too late for me to order something else.
I left the restaurant disappointed and hungry. I have been to Les Trois C many times, but the place has slowly gone downhill. I won't return, sadly."
