"Food was good, very tasty. Salads were fresh and got to sample an appetizer. A small individual serving was brought out to the table for everyone to try. It was a black bean humus on pita bread. Would not have ordered it but after trying it would order in the future. Main course was served hot. Tried something I never had before, seafood risotto and I would order again. Other dishes at table were liked as well.....tortellini, tilapia and veal. My son had a personal pizza which he liked except one piece was burned on the bottom. This is a place we'd go back to for special occasions, not regular dining."

"Our party had good food, nice wine, and friendly service. However, the speed of that service was subpar. We waited 20 minutes to place a drink order and 30 minutes to order our meals. The place was only 1/2 full when we arrived, so that wasn't the issue. I have heard this criticism from other patrons as well. This restaurant has potential to be great if they can improve that critical piece."

"We had a wonderful experience. We ordered dinner with our drink order as we were attending a show after dinner and service appeared slow. "We go to Panevino as often as possible. The food is wonderful. We enjoy sitting at the bar and talking to the other customers and meeting new friends. Dana, the bartender is outstanding. On this occasion I had the lasagna which was delicious and my fiance had the rigatoni and our companion diner had the salmon - Everything was cooked perfectly, served in a timely manner and because it was part of Panevino's 2nd anniversary week, we were treated to a dessert and I had the creme brulee - absolutely delicious. We will return again and again to Panevino as we thoroughly enjoy everything about this wonderful restaurant."

"We've dined at Panevino perhaps 10 times, and have always had a well-prepared meal from a sizable menu. The kitchen punches above its wieght in variety, quality, and quantity. The wine list is also surprisingly extensive for a restaurant that is, after all, tucked into a parking garage across from the IMAX theater, but the location factor works in its favor, making access convenient for a downtown location and raising the possibility of an evening of cinema and supper. We'd prefer a less sterile main dining room, which continues to evoke "generic office" for us, but the bar area is a fairly cozy spot with a bit more atmosphere. Also, for medium size parties there's a separate private dining room that is still warmer in its feel."

"Our party of six had a lovely dinner at Panevino. We were able to get a private table in an alcove, which was very nice. My appetizer of caprese salad and my fruitti del mar entree over capellini were very fresh and delicious. The bar menu is well stocked with specialty cocktails and classic drinks. My dessert of flourless chocolate cake was good as well. We are sure to go back!"

"The food was very good. The service was very good. The wait staff was very attentive, friendly and prompt. Our one complaint was the location of our table. We were seated at a table for two right next to the bar. For our entire dinner there were people at the bar crowded close to our table, and people milling around our table trying to get closer to the bar. How can one enjoy a nice dinner when there are multiple people's backsides a mere foot away from your table? We purposely only ate half our dinners just so that we could get out of there. But again, on a positive note, the food, service and wait staff were excellent."

"This was our second visit to Panevino so I was not suprised that the food, service and ambiance was excellent. What did surprise me was how child-friendly it was. At the last minute I needed to care for my 5 1/2 year old great-granddaughter, who is a spirited child and bring her along for dinner. The waiter was very respectful to her, she was happy with her food and generally had a great time and we had a pleasant dinner also."

"My wife & I were seated almost immediately and got our menus, bread, and coffees promptly. But from that point on, the service was very slow. Several tables seated after us received their meals before us. That said, once our food arrived it was very good. My wife had the shrimp and asparagus over risotto. I had braised short ribs with oven veggies, over polenta. We both loved our meals. Too bad the slow service prevented us from ordering a dessert since we had to scurry off to a show down the street at the Miller Arts Center. The restaurant is conveniently located to the Arts Center, and has easy, nearby parking too. We had been to Panevino last year, and had better service, so we'll give it another try next time we're in Reading."

The restaurant was easily to find and located in the midst of a happening Reading PA event corridor.
Parking was very convenient (and FREE), and the restaurant was within easy walking distance of our evening event.
The wait staff were very friendly, pleasant, and helpful.
The food was absolutely first class. Each dish/course was prepare meticulously, and regular (though non-intrusive) service was evident throughout the meal.
I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND Panevino for any dining occasion."

"This was only our second visit, first for anniversary and second for husbands birthday, hence the special occasion kudos. We loved it both times and will reserve this place for future special evenings out. The staff is friendly and attentive but not overbearing; the food has always been excellent (though I'd love to see more options for lighter fare or vegetarian meals). I have no complaints but might love it more if the seating was more private or offered more romance...we have been in the window both times so felt a bit exposed (this is truly minor so please, go for the other reasons mentioned and if you are a bit private, ask for a private or darker corner table ;) I will follow my own advice for next time."

"the FOOD was prepared as expected with sizable portions for the money, and the entrees come with salad. The mashed potatoes were a little bland, but the pork chops were juicy and the tomato sauce had bite. The food selection was different and not an Olive Garden meal, which is what you hope for. It is not all the way authentic Italian but the fusion of ingredients and the seasonal dishes stand out from an expected pasta dish. The SERVICE was detailed and prompt even through the dinner rush. The ATMOSPHERE was simply, but accented well with dark tables and woods and lightly colored walls with some bare stone walls for an accent."

"It was our first visit and boy were we delighted. From the "Chef's Special" snack dish in the beginning to the amazing chocolate torte at the end. Everything was fresh and delicious! Service was impeccable. Will be a repeat customer!"

"Wine prices were a little high. The prices could have been a little better for the selection. $20.00 for pasta dishes seems a little high to me. However, the portions were large enough that I had lunch the next day. I thought the food tasted great. David Brennen is a great chef."

"Awesome fine dining Italian restaurant in the downtown Reading. Location is wonderful for dinner & a movie as the IMAX theather is right across the street.
Attentative waitstaff, delicious and varied menu. The beer selection is somewhat lacking, bottled beer only. Would be nice to see some craft brews on tap.
This was our first dinner at Panevino, previously had only been there for brunch was was fantastic as well. But will definitely be coming back to sample more of the delicious cuisine!"

"My braised short ribs had to go back and be reheated, but I think they sat awaiting the other two entrees at our table which were very hot. Service was just good nothing exceptional because it was split over two wait staff. The food here is exceptional quality for your dollar. It is simply one of the finest restaurants in Berks / Schuylkill County. While I wish everything was 100% this is a place you don't wanna pass up."

"I'm a pretty big foodie & was really looking forward to this dinner, but my dish didn't impress. I got their braised lamb shank -it needed salt BADLY! It was a little dried out too & I didn't think the the sides it came with really complemented the meat. I wouldn't recommend this dish to anyone. My husband had their homemade pasta & bolognese sauce & it was good, but we didn't find it fantastic either. The service was pretty good, but everything was very slow & took quite some time to get your food between courses. I would recommend not getting an appetizer (mine wasn't fantastic & should have been, just alright, so you're not missing anything) & just ordering your main course right away if you don't want to be there more then 2 hours"
