Buca di Beppo - Mesa
Buca di Beppo serves authentic Italian cuisine in an eclectic, vintage setting. Our dishes are served family-style, meant to be shared by everyone at the table. Two sizes are available: BUCA SMALL feeds up to two and BUCA LARGE feeds up to four. At Buca, guests delight in our lively atmosphere, enjoy the classic tunes of Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin and admire our décor, including family photos and candid shots of Italian-American icons, such as Sophia Loren and Joe DiMaggio. "Mother's day can be a long wait, delighted we could make online reservations. We were early, taken right to our table, waitress came immediatley...Went down hill from here. Could not carry on a conversation over the den of noise, Two large groups that came in after us were served first. We ordered Shrimp Florentine, the shrimp were very small and tasteless, the pasta overcooked and completely lacking in the seasoned oil. Ravioli Pomadora was floating in water had to request extra marinara sauce. Two small entrees, small salad, one cocktail, one beer and tip, almost $100. May use the $20 coupon(s) to try another location or go back to Olive Garden/Macaroni grill and take our chances on a wait"

"My son and I went to this restaurant for Mother's Day since he had never been before. Although he is slightly claustrophobic, he was able to adapt due to all of the fun Italian photos on the wall. There are no windows to look out of.
The food portions were large and delicious! Our waitress was friendly, energetic, and nice. She was attentive and followed up with our requests immediately.
Since the dining area is small, the noise level is somewhat higher. I would not recommend this restaurant for a quiet, romantic meal. However, a family or large group would be ideal."

"Ours was a party of 8 covering three generations celebrating mother's day. First of all, loved the online reservation system - perfect for a day we knew would be busy. Our table was ready when we got there, though it was a tight squeeze for four on the bench side. Thankfully three of them were my children who were *mostly* behaving well.
Food was good. I couldn't rate it great because our chicken limone - normally our very favorite dish there - seemed to be lacking the lemon flavor. The dish was taken off our bill. Eggplant parmigiana, chicken saltimbocca, and spaghetti with meatballs were all enjoyed by my family.
Our server was top rate. She was very attentive & took care of our needs even before we could voice them to her."

"We had dinner here for a special occasion, and we very pleased that there were no large, noisy groups there this time. Food was excellent, as usual. Waitress was extremely good and very friendly. Only negative is that I wish they had a small side salad (unless I missed seeing it on the menu) available to go with the entrée without having to pay so much for a family-sized salad, which can't be eaten by 2 people & can't be taken home to save for later in the fridge (a fate worse than death for a salad). Otherwise, we really like the restaurant and the food."

"We had a wonderful evening - good friends, good food, good wine. Will definitely return whenever we have a group large enough. "We had a great experience March 28 with family visiting from Canada (2 daughters with husbands and 2 Grandkids 6 and 3) had a great experience with outstanding service provided by our server Thomas. Thomas was amazing at engaging with the kids and although the food is always great he made it a special experience for our kids."

"Have spent many special occassions at this location. We were a table of 2 in a room full of tables of 4 to 10 people. Our waitress seemed much more interested in making sure the other tables had all that they needed and rarely came over to check on us. We ran out of drinks several times and on one occassion gave us regular tea until she had "time" to give us the flavored tea we were drinking. Also, the kids at one table were allowed to scream and carry on and run around without their shoes on. When parents don't control their kids , restaurants should have a plan to step in so other parties can still enjoy their meals."

"I have had such positive fun neat experiences in the past at Buca, and honestly hadn't been to one in a couple of years, but I was disappointed this time. I probably won't ever choose to go again. It wasn't any 1 thing, the experience overall was average & not what I wanted for my family. I was sorry to see this restaurant isn't what it used to be."

"We were in Mesa visiting relatives and needed a kid friendly place that could accommodate a large group with a cranky 3 yr old. The staff was VERY responsive to us and very friendly to my 3 yr old daughter (who had skipped her nap). The food came out quickly, and was quite good. Everyone from my daughter to my mother enjoyed it."

"I took a date out for dinner here. Had a reservation but still it took about 15 minutes to seat us. They have served us excellent sangria. As far as the food goes they serve large portions just like all of the other locations I've been to. It seems, however, that the marinara sauce at this location was very bland compared to the others. Overall I would have to say that it was a good dinner (not great), yet still a perfect place to take a date."

We really should have had the salad course before dinner and a little more time before each course. We got the entrees with salad and then the check before the dinner course was done. "Our service was above awesome. The food on the other hand took over an hour to get and when it came out is was dry and unseasoned. I had to ask for extra sauce on my pasta dish and we didn't even take our two chicken dishes home as left overs because the chicken was so dry. Not what I expected for a 200+ dollar dinner bill. It was a very disappointing birthday celebration."

"My only complaint about Bucca is the noise level. It really is a very loud place to dine. The food is always great and the service is most often exemplary. If you like cheese cake, this is where to get the best cheese cake in the valley, hands down without argument."

"We had reservations and were seated immediately. Our waitress was friendly, but a little rushed. We ordered the spicy italian sausage and paid extra for the onions and peppers. Didn't feel we got enough for the extra price. The sausage was great, sauce was yummy. The Italian Margarita had lots of flavor.
We've been here many times and will continue to enjoy Buca di Beppo."

"Made a reservation for 4 through Open Table for 8:00PM. Show up a few minutes before 8:00 and check in with the hostess only to be told that we probably would not be seated before 8:30 at the earliest. We weren't seated until probably 8:40 or later. So, what was the point of making the reservation for 8:15 again? I though reservation meant there is a table "reserved" for you by the time you arrive. Guess they missed that memo. After we get seated the waitress takes our order and asks if we want the house bread, or if we want to upgrade to garlic or cheese bread. We all decide to stick with the house bread. Time passes and the salad is brought out. More time passes and the entrees are brought out and we realize, she never brought us bread."

"We had a 7pm reservation on Valentine's Day. We arrived before 7 and they were behind schedule. People were anxious to be seated. The staff was great, answering update questions and passing out free pizza to those waiting for a table. The waiting area was stuffed but things went smoothly. We were greeted soon after being seated. We placed out order and were given bread with a bowl of olive oil and balsamic vinegar. The vinegar was heavily served and made me choke. Our food arrived while we were still munching on the bread, a nice surprise as I figured the food would be a long wait.We ordered a baked pasta to share which had 4 different of the individual baked dishes. It didn't look like a lot for two but as we ate, we were satisfied."

"I had 2 reservations this evening at the restaurant. 1 for a block of 20 and 1 for a group of 8. The 8 (adults) of us all enjoyed our meals and the atmosphere.
I ordered family style for the group of 20 (12 & 13 year old soccer team) Spaghetti w/o meat and spaghetti w/ meat, caesar salad. It was unanimous from this group that they did not like the meal. The sauce on the pasta was very runny/watery. The kids said the best thing they had was the bread (free) followed by the salad and my kids don't even like salad.
Wait staff were friendly and accommodating but unfortunately the feedback from the team wasn't good."

"I was disappointed with the service. I also called about the 4 for 40 and said I was having trouble pulling it up on my phone (coupon). She said not to worry about it. I mentioned same to waitress and she said not to worry about it. When she went to get the check, she said it was ok. The next thing we know the manager or something shows up at our table. I told him my phone died and I was unable to get coupon again but the girl said it was ok on phone. He said I never left the booth so I don't know who you would have spoken too. AS IF I LIED!!!! I was so upset and insulted. We finially used my frieds phone and pulled it up. The waiteress to phone and then came back to say she lost it.I don't think we will be back."

"Our server asked how our food was and we mentioned that one item that was new on the menu was bland to taste and all the server could say was they used the same sauce as the one we liked. That was not true or we wouldn't have said anything! Other than that he never offered any alternative to offset our query but overall our experience was good."

"The room was hot and we requested quite a few times to have the air turned on, even the staff was entering the room and saying it was hot in their, when you went out of that back room the rest of the rooms where cool, so you may need to get the vents checked in that back room where all the wine bottles are on the ceiling, it was really unbearable it was that hot, had to use the desert menu to fan ourselves."
