"Returned with probably too high expectations. Squid/octopus appetizer was great. Veal chop special was too. Waiter served pasta courses with the secondi! Didn't matter because neither dish was very good -- semolina gnocchi cut like thick polenta toasts -- certainly not alla Romana -- underdone stiff chewy cavatelli. Ditto for the pork saltimbocca that was nothing like expected -- just a sort of riff on the dish: thick slab of cutlet wrapped in prosciutto then wrapped in thick slab of pork belly with a sort of faintly sagey jus. Something is getting lost in the elaborations of traditional Italian dishes -- not for the good."

"After passing this place by over the years, finally decided to try it. Was just hoping for good "red saauce" Italian-American food, but got much more. Perfectly cooked calamari, outstanding lasagna alla bolognese, delicious scallopine di vitello with an inventive risotto cake (like a flattened arancino). Only the osso buco disapppointed -- not sure it was even veal, not melting from long slow cooking, and not the traditional sauce nor gremolata. Well chosen wine list with lower than usual mark-ups contribute to a satisfying experience. Even if it was a slow night, service was professional without being stuffy. Will definitely return on future visits to the area."

"This was our first visit, and we were anticipating something better than average. Our server's attentiveness was less than we expected, and wait times between courses was long, although I believe this was primarily due to a large full-meal party hosted in the bar half of the restaurant. That said, the food was thoroughly worth another visit, and presumably the large party in the bar is not typical. Initially the menu doesn't seem large, but the list of impressive specials was lengthy and full of options that showcased the chef's diversity. We will definitely return to Vaccaro's Trattoria."

"We are regulars at Vaccaro's and have a long history of great meals, great wine and friendly service. Unfortunately, our most recent visit did not quite live up to the standard to which we are accustomed. The chef may be getting a little to daring for his or her own good, as our meal while interesting on paper, did not live up to the hype. Several of us tried the Snapper with kumquat sauce that was overpowering. The risotto was uncharacteristically dry and the micro greens were very, very bitter. Even our favorite desserts were not quite up to snuff. All that said, this has never been the norm. Vaccaro's does a fabulous job with traditional Italian, and they have always taken good care of us, so this is by no means a deal breaker."

"We went Valentines weekend they had a special menu just for the occasion. My husband had Prime Rib so tender that it nearly melted in your mouth. I had a Lobster Ravioli that was simply fantastic the Ravioli itself was very savory and the sauce was just bursting with flavor. The service was exceptional. We will certainly go back the next time we are in the area."

"We have been going to Vaccaro's for several years; were very pleased with the quality of our food, our server, Adam, was very professional and enojoyable and the atmosphere was romantic and elegant. We highly recommend Vaccaro's to all of our friends and co-workers, it is a wonderful experience."

"My girlfriend and I were going to a Jazz show at the Tangiers and wanted to try a restaurant on the way.
Based on reviews here I decided to try Vacarro's.
I specifically requested a table in a corner or somewhere quiet as we were celebrating a special occasion.
Upon entering the gentleman/host greeted us and offered us a couple seating options.
We chose the King and Queen table which worked out perfectly.
After being seated our server, whose name escapes me, promptly introduced herself and from there on we were on our way to just a great night of excellent food and superior service in a very comfortable atmosphere."
