Buca di Beppo - Exton
Buca di Beppo serves authentic Italian cuisine in an eclectic, vintage setting. Our dishes are served family-style, meant to be shared by everyone at the table. Two sizes are available: BUCA SMALL feeds up to two and BUCA LARGE feeds up to four. At Buca, guests delight in our lively atmosphere, enjoy the classic tunes of Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin and admire our décor, including family photos and candid shots of Italian-American icons, such as Sophia Loren and Joe DiMaggio. "Reservations at 7PM, not seated until 7:35. Not recognized by waitress until 7:50 (after complaining). Ordered drinks and food at same time since we had plenty of time to look over the menu. Waitress returned with cold drinks, but not coffees. When she did come back, she didn't have the coffees ... instead it was to inform us that they were out of one of the dishes we ordered, along with a few other items inc. their signature meatballs (2nd time that's happened to me). We decided to leave. Spoke to a "supposed" manager on the way out, but he was young and had no idea how to handle the situation. We will NEVER, EVER return to this restaurant. (Oh, and at least one other party w/ reservations left before being seated because of wait)."

We were told "we ran out of this or that" because yesterday was Mother's Day! What the heck? It is 7:30 PM on Monday (yes, the day after Mother's Day), but to get the meatballs you ordered forty minutes after
they were ordered, and the party of 6 was finished eating, is unacceptable. When we mentioned at the serving or the meal that we were awaiting meatballs we were told it would be about 5 minutes..we asked 3 different people to check on them and then we were told they ran out of them and had to defrost and bake some. We were told also that dipping oil would be coming, but, it never did either. Hardly any customers in the restaurant. Wonder why. Ran out of manicotti too!"

"Of all days, Mother's Day...
1. Made reservation for 7pm on Open Table
2. Arrived at 7 PM gave name, was asked to wait in lobby - 10 feet from hostess
3. Checked with Hostess at 7:10 - was told soon.
4. Checked with Hostess at 7:20 - was told people are lingering at their tables
5. Checked with Hostess at 7:30 and was told they called our name and another group came up and took our reservation (REALLY) - we were 10 feet away and checked with the hostess as stated above. Our family walked out.
6. Our family had a great time at The Border - always do.

"It took us 1 1/2 hours to receive our food after we ordered. We were told many times that our food was on its way. The kitchen was apparently so behind. How could they be so inadequately prepared for Mother's Day?"

"We decided to eat late after the assumed swarm of Mothers Day diners. The only problem with that was that they ran out of some of their "go to" items, which were meatballs and sausage, and even bread. It's tough to have an Italian feast without meatballs, sausage and bread, but lulckily their menu provides enough options for us to choose from and the server was more than accomadating to my finnicky 10 yr old daughter. The food was tasty and as always at Bucco, the portions were huge. Our wonderful server made what could have been a disaster into a memorable dining experience. I'll cut them a break since it was Mother's Day and she said the did over 900 dinners that night and we were oneof the last few tables left at the end of the night"

"We've been to this Buca many times and we keep coming back. This time the food felt a little off,the server seemed to be smoking something and the hostess that seated us seems confused. Usually we rate this restaurant a 4-5, but was not there this time. Hopefully it was just an off day and not a trend."

"We went here to celebrate my daughter's 13th birthday. This is her favorite restauran & all the others in the surrounding Philadelphia area have closed. A little far of a drive but worth the JOY on her face. LOTS of leftovers! A good time"

"Our family was first introduced to Buccas when we lived in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. So we were delighted when we moved to the Exton area and saw a piece of home. We love the food choices which is always delicious. Everything from the Apple mixed green salad, tasty breads,and the delicious main courses. Sometimes we even drop in for a Pizza. The warmth of the surroundings and the friendliness of the staff makes the experience complete. The added benefit is our reservations for Christmas and Easter dinner this year. A little non-traditional meal, but I think we have made it a tradition for our family. Thank you for the staff that gives up part of their holiday to make special memories for us!"

"As usual the food was excellent. My wife and I have commented that this is the best chain Italian food you can find. Beats Olive Garden hands down just make sure you come very hungry. This is as close to homemade as you can possibly get without making it yourself."

"This is my friend's favorite restaurant and we were celebrating his birthday. The food was wonderful and service excellent. My only con was that we had to wait 35 minutes in a very crowded area to be seated even though we had a reservation. While the Manager was very nice and provided compensation, it would have been better to have been seated on time."

"We had a great time. My sister had flown in from Denver to surprise my parents for their birthday(s)(Mom, 67 and Dad 70). They thought they had seen a ghost when my sister walked to the table singing happy birthday. Our waitress, Jennifer, was excellent. She made sure we had plenty of room at our table to celebrate. The food was amazing. This was our first time at the restaurant. We live in Wilmington, DE. My sister recommended the restaurant because she frequents the one in Colorado. Thank you for a grand experience."
