"Wonderful "locals" restaurant, slightly "edgy" but safe neighborhood, chef prepares excellent meals: try the ribeye steak with whopping portion of perfect pommes frites or the braised short rib. Ask for Kelly as your server. He's a delightful character. This place is a treasure: upscale food, service and ambiance without the inflated tourist prices of downtown Charleston."

"It was my friend's birthday dinner, and I picked the place. She had never been to Lana, and as far as selection and price went, it seemed like a great fit. And it was. Our server was great. Not too pushy and very pleasant. She even got one of our desserts for us. Great time!"

"WE had tickets to see a play and the staff were very accommodating. As soon as they were informed of this they took it into account. The waiter was wonderful, friendly - but not overly gushy. The food was delicious. My duck was splendid and the chicken of my friend was just as delicious. But the Bolognese of my other partner was a little lack luster. We started with an anti-pasto platter for two - we shared it between three and it was wonderful, interesting and flavourful and plenty for three. We enjoyed the restaurant and I would happily return, but next time i would not be dashing out to the theatre."

"I've had many wonderful meals here and guests with me enjoyed. This evening there were 5 of us and 2 just did not find their dinner choices - duck and chicken dishes - tasteful at all. Very bland. I had flounder and it was delicious! But we will all be back!"

"Lana is "off the beaten path" of Charleston's better known restaurants -- but worth the slight detour. Food is always immaculately fresh, imaginative, and tasty. The chef knows how to create complex sauces where you can still identify the ingredients. Wait staff are always a delight -- knowledgeable and fun! Wine list is not voluminous but carefully chosen and reasonably priced. Be sure to save room for dessert!"

"The food and service were excellent. Value for the quality was on target. Comfortable yet elegant atmosphere . Great for couples or night out with friends. Don't recommend for family dining. We questioned location when we arrived. Parking was an issue and the area seemed mixed, up and coming homes and those that had not yet been refurbished. Our reservations ended once inside the restaurant. If you want great food away from the big crowds this is a great option."

"My boyfriend and I had a romantic dinner at Lana for a special occasion. The wine list was impressive and our food was delicious! The only downfall is finding parking for the restaurant. It is in an up and coming area and the streets are usually packed. We will definitiely be visiting Lana again though!"

"We made reservations at Lana to celebrate an anniversary. The staff certainly made it a special event for us. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. Both waiter and chef were attentive. The restaurant was lively but not overly full. The noise of the crowd was a little high, but altogether, it was a charming and romantic spot for a good and easy dinner. We will definitely return."

"Our dinner at Lana on may 11 was quite ordinary. After making reservations in early April for a family of 6 to celebrate my youngest daughter's graduation from CofC, I was a little surprised that we stood in the doorway immediately in front of our empty table for 10 minutes while the staff told us that our table was not ready. the restaurant was not full and I felt that we were rather at odds for the first impression. Our waiter was simply excellent. However the food, although fresh and well presented, was rather pedestrian.... Nothing truly outstanding or memorable other than the desserts.With so many choices of glorious food in Charleston, I was left with a slight sense of disapointment. No real complaints, just uninspiring dining."

I cannot remember a visit where I haven't had a visit from him to our table. The latest time, he served our starter and explained each cheese selection for us. As it was pouring, one of the staff escorted each of us to our car under his umbrella. A nice touch. "Charleston is a town of many fabulous restaurants and Lana is one of them! The food and service were both great. I ordered the duck and it was so tender and the fig reduction was very tasty. The only reason I can not give the food a rating of 5 is that the dessert was not up to par. I ordered chocolate cake with espresso gelato and the cake was a little dry and the gelato a little icy. The reviews I read before going to Lana said that parking was difficult. We arrived at 8:00 on a Saturday night in April and immediately found a space on the street about a block away. I don't know if we were just lucky or it is not really that hard. I will find out the next time I go because I will return to Lana!"

"One of Charleston's best restaurants. Always good, weeknights and weekends as well. They change the menu often enough, but even the items that are always on the menu are great. We live in the neighborhood and come here often, though we have dined most everywhere in Charleston. Great meat and fish dishes, soups, pastas AND the best vegetable plate in town. Other restaurants just put a few sides from other dishes on the plate and call it done. At Lana, they go several steps beyond and serve at least six very good vegetable preparation on the plate. AND, unlike some of the restaurants that seem to get all the press, Lana is reasonably priced. You don't have to take out a mortgage to go out to eat here. Kudos to Chef Ondo - everyday."

"I NEVER order chicken at a restaurant but I was drawn to the ingredients in the roast chicken dish so I tried it and it blew me away how good it was! Our server was very friendly and made time to chat/ joke around with us. The service was great. Atmosphere was hip without being snooty."

"Really wonderful meal, charleston is known for fine dining and Lana does not disappoint. I had the duck and my boyfriend the rabbit. For an app we shared the mussels, the portion would have been better if we had had 1 or2 more people to share it with. It was huge. The cocktails list was inventive and I had a French gimlet. They have a large table near the bar that I'd love to bring 6-8 friends with me to eat and be social. I have no complaints. A gem off the beaten charleston path. More locals than carnival cruisers."

"We will always dine at Lana whenever we are in Charleston. We had a wonderful experience last year and we again had a wonderful evening. The food is a little pricey for everyday fare, but it is consistently "fit for a king".
The service, both at the bar and while dining, is pleasant, friendly, and efficient. You will not be disappointed.

"We waited for an extended period of time just to get some water and then we waited some more to put our orders in. Overall, we were at this place for about 2 hours, 30 minutes of which was spent with actual food in front of us. The prices were significantly high and the portions were ridiculously small. It was pretty loud as well, my wife and I had to lean in to hear each other, but this could've been from going on a Friday night. The food itself was amazing, the chef brought it out himself. But for all the waiting and high prices, I wouldn't go back. This is definitely one of those "special occasion" type of places."

"One of the more reliable restaurants in Chrleston, Lana is my go-to restaurant downtown. Food is always fresh and excellent staff is spot-on in knowledge of preparation and wine list has something for every palate. Service is quite good and dishes are served in a relaxed but timely fashion. The only downside is that the time between dinner and dessert can, recently, be excessive if you don't order as soon as you server appears with the desert menus. Otherwise a charming and excellent dining experience."
