"This restaurant clearly does not read any of the special notes included in the on-line reservation form. This has happened twice to me. I don't want to complain in front of the people I am with but if you are taking the time to make a request or inform them of a special occasion they should pay attention to that detail and make your dining experience as special as it could be."

"The food was very good at Thom Thom and sushi excellent as always. However I had read other reviews about the service but since we had been here before I thought maybe they hit a bad night. Well they weren't wrong. Our waitress was very nice but there was a big lag between our appetizers and our entree's and at time our waitress vanished for long clips of time. And when our sushi came we waited another 10 minutes for the chop sticks and soy sauce). And we never received water refills.
The quality of the food though is very good and for the price it is very reasonable. Hopefully the service will be fixed soon so we can make this a regular dinner reservation again."

"Steak houses need to be great at steak and this is a great place for steak. NY Strip was perfect, Filet great and very well made. The service was fair at best. Prices are on the money. I will go back. I think they have areas of improvement but over all I would go back.
My kids food was served last --not smart. We had to look for the waitress often. People who came in 10 minutes after us were served 10 minutes before us so I had to say something. BUT I am a food guy. I loved the steak!"

"Ithis is the 4th time I've eaten here. It just amazes me how the owner or management. Could be so ignorenat as to the extremely poor service their store provides. The food is very good and the sushi excellant. They need professional waiters and waitress. And put someone at hostess who's qualified not cheap labor or family. Fix your service issues and you have a gold mine."

"The whole experience was outstanding. The space was inviting and comfortable as was the service. This is my second time here and both times my salmon was cooked to perfection. The calamari was amazing and prepared with an Asian twist. The resteraunt is a bit high priced but well worth the money. If your looking to have a nice quiet dinner and not be rushed this is the place for you."

"Brought my family there for a graduation celebration. It was a brunch buffet. Constantly out of food due to a large party in the restaurant. Could never get wait staffs attention to replenish drinks or coffee. From the time we were done till the bill was paid was 45 minutes. Could not find anyone to give me a bill, then did not come back with credit card for almost 20 minutes. Have dined there before and enjoyed it. However after this experience NEVER AGAIN................"

"I visited Thom Thom for the first time for their Mother's Day Brunch which included the typical breakfast fare (bacon, eggs, sausage, etc) and also an omelet station, carving station, and sushi. All the food was very delicious and an exceptional value.
The only caveat was the organization of the buffet line and the carving/omelet stations. Customers were required to wait in line for the regular buffet because the line was being held up due to the carving/omelet stations. These stations should have been set up with a separate line in order to move the buffet line along faster. We have the unfortunate seating location to be right in the middle of the line of people waiting. Very uncomfortable situation."

"we had a reservation for 6,when we arrived they wanted to sit us by the bar. I refuse,then they sat us all the way in the back in a corner. The price is to much for the amount of food that you get, Also the were bringing the plates one at a time. Instead of bringing a trade with all the plates. We had to wait for more than 20 minutes for the dessert."

"Hidden away in Wantagh Thom Thom Steak & Seafood Restaurant turned out to be an amazing find. I went during restaurant week and had an amazing meal, great service, and delicious drinks for a small price tag. The bartender even went out of his way to make a special drink for our table (a pear martini). The steak was cooked to order, the crispy calamari was delicious, and the dessert (molton chocolate cake) was so good I had to stop myself from licking the plate! Will definitely be going back soon!"

"The Ambience of this place is nice. Great for a nice dinner with a large group of people. Their Filet Mignon was fantastic. Only compaint I have was that they were slow to service us. "I made reservations for 7:00 on a Saturday night as it was my cousin's birthday and thought that Thom Thom would be a great place to celebrate. We got there at 7 and the only table they had available was in the bar, unacceptable. Then they said they had a party that was ending soon but we would have to wait another 30+ minutes before we could sit and the bar was too crowded to wait. It was extremely noisy and to tell you the truth, I'm glad we didn't stay. Found another local restaurant and had a great dinner."

"Danny Wu always seems to out do himself and both his restaurants have been my fave for years now. My husband & I celebrate almost everything at his places. Its that dang good; from the time we enter to the time we leave everything is really good!!! "We went for Restaurant Week with another couple. It was their 1st time and they cleaned their plates. While 3 of us ordered the steak dinner, the 4th had the double lamb chops ( not on the special). Each meal was prepared perfectly. Each of us had a different appetizer,- beets and goat cheese, sushi, sea bass, and each was delghted;..imagine sea bass as an appetizer! Desserts were delicious and just the right size. Service was friendly, yet professional and the owner is charming and caring. We take our favorite friends to Thom Thom, oujr favorite restaurant."

"We dined at Thom Thom during Restaurant Week and were completely satisfied! The selections on the special menu were vast and we didn't even venture into the regular menu. All of the food was presented beautifully and every bite tasted delicious. Our server was attentive and recognized that we were in no hurry so gave us time to chat. "We were greeted nicely when we came into restaurant.. Restaurant has a nice casual decor. We were seated promptly. Host approached us fairly quickly and said server would be with us shortly which he did. Took our wine order. A bit later approached us again and took appetizer and dinner order. WE WAITED 40 minutes for our salad and shrimp appetizer!! We ALSO had to ask where it was, it was taking awhile but when I noticed the couple next to us that had come in after us and had received theirs, I was extremely annoyed. ALSO after our order was orig taken, our waiter disappeared for quite awhile, except to ask for a drink order, then disappeared again. Our main meal came in an appropriate time after appetizer.

"We had a wonderful meal. The server could have been better. He seemed to try to hard to make conversation. He was a bit annoying. The food was really good. The sushi outstanding. Filet Mignon kabobs could have been cooked just a little more but flavor was GREAT! Loved yogurt bar but would like to see some granola to put on top! Overall great time. We will be back again for brunch. Danny is just great!"

"I have to admit, the food was quite delicious. But the service & chaotic atmosphere was terrible. We had a 9:15 reservation, arrived at 9:00 figuring we would have a drink before being seated. At 9:20, we still were not served by the bartender. We had asked her for service repeatedly, but she kept serving others instead. We were told when we came in that the table would be ready for our 9:15 reservation. But we were still waiting at 9:45. After telling the hostess to cancel our reservation because we were leaving, we were finally seated @ 10:00 pm. My boyfriend ordered a Stella Artois beer only to be told they ran out of it as well as Sam Adams. Although the food was quite tasty, I shouldn't of had to wait until 10:45 to start my meal"

"The food was very good, but there were two things that were not good. The first was our reservation through open table was for 7:45, that day I got a call from the restaurant asking us to change our time. They had overbooked that slot and wanted to move us by a half hr, this was not acceptable, the other was an issue with the service. One of our salads did not get served with the others and we had to ask the wait staff to get it. Next was one of the main courses was never put into the kitchen. Five meals came out and the sixth was missing. We spoke to the maitre-d, he apologized and accepted responsibility and took the meal off the bill. What he did not do was come back to the table after to see if everything was OK."

"Kids recommended Thom Thom and gave us a gift certificate. Reserved with OT - promptly seated when we arrived. Since our first time there we were not familiar with the menu and our waitress well explained all. As an appy, the "Sushi Pizza" was well prepared and delicious. My wife ordered the Port Osso Buco which was juicy, tender and perfectly cooked with just the right amounts of seasoning. I got the paella containing mussels, scallops, chicken, chirozo, shrimp and calamari. It was excellent and noticed quite a few orders being brought out of the kitchen. Both dishes were served hot and dishes are looking very appealing and appetizing. Overall, between the food and the services, a wonderful dining experience we will repeat."

"The quality of both food and service are very inconsistent . This time service was good and food was poor. Food was cold portions were skimpy Diver scallops looked liked bay scallops and lamb shank was looking more like the leg and not the shank."
