We at Tenpenny seek to create a restaurant which celebrates all the things they love about fine dining in New York: delicious and creative food; a thoughtful and affordable wine and cocktail program; charming and gracious service; and the warm, cozy sort of dining room where you can lose an afternoon or an evening with good company. We believe that you can have a stellar dining experience without pretension;a killer meal that is also fun and comforting. “Ambitious & fascinating...food to give pause; intricately flavored and plated with an emphasis on beauty... One bite: wow.” sam sifton, the new york times
“The lunchtime burger is a viable substitute for Shake Shack... This is the kind of place that would be declared the next Torrisi if it were located [on] Mulberry.” ryan sutton, bloomberg news "The perfect hideaway." wall st. journal
"The service was ok. I had come here mostly for a lunch cocktail, but to my disappointment, my server told me the bartender was new and could not make any of the mixed drinks listed on their menu. She said that I should order wine instead of a cocktail, just to make it easy on the bartender. I was really disappointed. I would have thought that perhaps they would have someone else make the cocktail if not the new bartender. As for the food, I ordered a cheese plate to start, and the swordfish club sandwich. The cheese somehow didn't taste very fresh, but the sandwich was quite delicious. I don't think I will be coming back here for a while, or at least until the bartender is able to learn some mixed drinks."

"A very enjoyable meal at this small restaurant located in the Gotham Hotel. The menu offers a nice selection of small plates as well as dinner options and the portions are just the right size. Short ribs prepared as a beefy ragout over wide pasta was delicious. Wait staff is knowledgeable and helpful.
As guests of the hotel, we also had breakfast there. We made a request for some additional items and the next morning, everything was there as requested. Definitely made us feel as valued guests."

"Great late night venue for a post-Broadway supper. Food and service was generally great with very friendly waitstaff. Only thing that let us down was we weren't offered dessert; the check just appeared after our mains. This was possibly a function of our late night reservation- 10pm - however it would have been better if we'd been at least told in advance dessert wouldn't be available."

"We have really gorwn to love this cozy little spot. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, the service is friendly, and the food is very good. On this night, three of us shared two pastas, the one with lobster and one with crab, along with the pork chop. All were very good. Pasta were cooked perfectly and topped with fresh seafood and veggies, excellent flavors to the sauces and combinations. The pork chop was perfection, juicy, pink and seasoned perfectly. The Brussels sprouts side dish was excellent. But, the potatoes and sauted spinich were also good but a bit oversalted. Nice crusty bread with several olive oil choices are a very nice touch. Reasonable wine choices and prices. Our second trip here and we are once again very pleased."

"This was recommended to us by a friend and we cannot be happier that we went on our trip to the city. The black spaghettini is to die for...I definitely recommend it!"

"The steak tasted as if it had been around for a while. It tasted quite "gamey," to me. Salad and sides were good. This was the night of the blizzard so they were doing the best that they could. We were staying at the hotel that Tenpenny was housed in, so it made sense. We also had a $50 coupon from the hotel. Not the finest dining in NYC."

"Interesting menu and a different take on basic food that I liked. Good Ambience, was quiet good for conversation. Staff was friendly and prompt. The restaurant does not have good street prescence and probably has few walk-in customers."
