"The food at Highland's Garden has always been outstanding, (especially the trout and peach soup) but this time I got the chicken pot pie and was disappointed. It was so watery. My friend ordered it as well, and since it was for her birthday, I felt badly that she also found it not too great. I will definitely return, but I will order something else. The dessert was delicious, as always."

"My wife and I decided to try Highlands Garden Cafe for our wedding anniversary on the recommendations on OpenTable. We arrived to an old rennovated home with exposed brick that oozed warmth. The dining area we were in was mostly couples enjoying themselves. Shortly after we were seated the managment surprised us with comp glasses of prosecco, which was a nice touch. The menu had a perfect variety of choices and the food was delicious. My only complaint was that we seemed to have a bit of communication breakdown with our waiter about what we wanted as an entree and he kept taking away our wine list when we wanted to hang on to it. Not a big deal, we enjoyed it."

"In a time of too much noise and too much foodie hype, Highland's Garden Cafe is a reminder that food can be wonderful to look at delicious to eat and healthy too. It's a joy to hear my friends without competing with the loud din of most restaurants. The menu is incredibly generous is giving every category of food an opportunity to be enjoyed."

"Five of us dined at Highland Gardens, which has the best Cosmos in Denver. We all had trouble deciding, with so many great choices. Three ordered fish dishes, much enjoyed; one the bison burger, good except for the Gluten-Free bun...those of us who are gluten intolerant are happy to have a bun we can eat, but others prefer their wheat bread. My lamb chops were perfectly cooked, lukewarm, but fine on the salad with goat cheese and arugula. The root vegetable soup with beet chips was fairly tasteless, unlike every other soup I've had there. The creme caramel was fabulous as was the ice cream with exceptional homemade caramel sauce, a reason in itself to dine here. Highland Gardens is one of our top three favorite Denver restaurants."

"We went on a cold snowy night midweek so the restaurant was relatively quiet. It was a business dinner so we were undisturbed but had very personal attention from the wait staff. It was wonderful! What a nice evening for business and pleasure!"

"the menu is unique. I had the scallops with a fruit salsa that was marvelous. The pate is "rustic" and well presented. The service was fanatastic. My companion was flying in and his flight delayed dignificantly. The staff and kitchen were most accomodating."

"Highland's Garden Cafe is an old favorite. Unfortunately, 'old' is the operative word. The clientel is old, the greeter's pants were old and stained, the restaurant is lovely, but feels old. The mains were heavy on vegetables, but light on flair and creativity. My rhubarb-strawberry crisp was mushy. We were very disappointed."

"We love Highland's Garden Cafe! The food is good, and the ambiance is lovely. Service was a little slow - we would have liked for him to check back a little more frequently, but we highly recommend this place!"

"Highland Garden Cafe is full of wonderful reasons to eat there: lovely Victorian house with lots of trompe l'oeil wall paintings, indoor eating offers views of their surrounding gardens, menu that changes each day, excellent wait staff. The menu is perfect for foodies with lots of creative combinations. Salads are to die for!"

"We had a great evening. We stay away from chains and seek real restaurants in which the food reflects the style and skills of the owner and chef. We were delighted with our meal. We found the staff welcoming and personable. Well worth a visit."
