Tosca
Tosca is the flagship restaurant of Eat Well Inc. Open for dinner only, Tosca is located on historic Hingham Harbor and offers creative regional Italian cuisine focusing on fresh New England flavors and local, seasonal ingredients. Constructed in the 1910 Granary Marketplace building, the award-winning restaurant boasts a theatrical setting with exposed brick, imported tiles, mahogany woods, and an open kitchen from which executive chef Kevin Long takes center stage.

"I was very surprised at how expensive this restaurant was for the quality of the food and service. First, our waitress got my boyfriend's order wrong. When his meal did come, it was bland. The noise level was very high, too. With all the great restaurants at their price point in and around the area, there is no reason to give Tosca another try."

"Always a great atmosphere, Tosca continues to serve meticulously prepared food with very attentive service. My NY Strip was cooked to perfection while the chicken under a brick remains as the greatest chicken dish on the planet. The bar to judge this restaurant has remained so high for such a long time that, while you might see a less than perfect rating or comment from time, this fine fine restaurant continue to compete in an elite field and delivers as well as any of them."

"i am rating this perfect in spite of the oddest 15 minute lag where we came into an almost empty restaurant w a reservation at the end of the night and were ignored. i think they had a misunderstanding about who was taking care of the table because after that they apologized profusely and the service and food and wine were perfect. loved it we had a small round table for six , so intimate and celebratory yay Tosca"

"Our party of 3 dined at Tosca's on a busy Saturday evening. The food was exceptional and the service was very good. Being it was a weekend evening, it was crowed and noisy preventing us from carrying on a conversation at a normal level. The server was very knowledgeable and pleasant. We had steak, chicken and short ribs, and all were cooked to perfection. The warm asparagus and prosciutto salad was terrific.
I would recommend Tosca to anyone looking for a great meal on the South Shore."

"Arrived a bit early was seated right away. Table was broken and in an awkward position (utilizing all space in restaurant which not necessarily should be utilized). Requested table change and was moved promptly.... one table over. Drinks were good and wine was wonderful. We shared the calamari appetizer! Must say it is the best I have tasted on the south shore thus far. Salads were very nice.. Main course - that is when it all fell apart this is claimed to be an authentic Italian restaurant. There was nothing authentic about the sauces that were served with our pasta dishes!."

"have been going to Tosca for years but have not been there recently. We were not disappointed with the food, it was excellent. Very innovative and varied dishes. The short rib there has always been a favorite of mine, everyone has positive reactions to their dishes. The lemon tirimasu and pistachio pound cake were standout desserts

"We've been here before so knew we would have a great dinner - love linen table clothes, fresh flowers, excellent food and perfect service. "Liver & Onions" appetizer has been on the menu every time for us and it's delicious if you are a chicken liver fan. It's very filling so good to share. Chicken under a brick is moist, boneless with flavorful crispy skin. I love to order a salad to share and have it split in the kitchen, always a pleasant surprise. Peter, our waiter, was very knowledgeable and his recommendations were right on! The bar had a varied selection of mixed drinks, very tasty. I do think they could have a few lower priced wines on the wine list. We're not cheap, but do think their wines are a bit overpriced."

"We always love Tosca but this dining experience wasn't so good. My husband got the short-ribs and enjoyed them. I go the tenderloin medallions and one was delicious and the other I couldn't cut so I didn't eat it. The specialty coffee at the end was my favorite part of the dinner. We would definitely go back to Tosca, this was the first time everything wasn't excellent."

"We went to Tosca's for Easter dinner. We had a reservation and were seated promptly; the staff was attentive and courteous. The food was excellent, steak properly cooked. We took over two hours with our meal and never felt rushed. My only complaint is that the prices seemed high, with entrees ranging from the high $20s to low $40s -- a little excessive given the fare. But overall it was a very pleasant dining experience."

"The food was very flavorful! Semi romantic, but very loud table are to close together. Service was impeccable ? The staff were very attentive and efficient. Exposed beam scenario is excellent . Overall a great experience!"

"I took my wife to Tosca for a special birthday dinner. Overall, it was a nice dinner, but it could have been better. Food was very good and fresh, and the cheese board appetizer is a great European feature you don't get too often over here. More privacy would have been nice. Our tiny table for two was wedged between two tables of four. Also, no bread was offered with the meal. Most places offer bread these days but there was none at Tosca. The waiter was nervous and unsure of himself a lot. It was a fine night out, but not worth the money. For the $90 we spent, there are nicer places with better service, more privacy, and bread that we can eat at."

"It has been a while since I have been to the restaurant and my friend and I both were not impressed with the waitress who steered us wrong saying that the Box of Shrimp was lightly battered when we both said wanted to eat light. The shrimp can in heavy thick fish and chip style batter and oily. I had to cut all the batter off to eat the shrimp which looked big in the battery but was small. I asked for the dressing on the side and the waitress forgot. My friend and I both commented on the lack of professionalism/ experience/training of the waitress and frankly were disappoint with the misleading recommendation for the shrimp. I know that Tosca is better than that. I felt badly for suggesting that we drive further to be disappointed."

"We shared a Quattro Formaggio pizza and Tuscan Panzanella salad. The grilled crust is smokey and delicious. For dessert: s'mores fondue. The marshmallow was soft and stretchy, the chocolate ganache so rich, and the cookies were perfect. But it's the panzanella i'm still dreaming about!"
