"We were seated upon arrival and opted for an indoor table because it was cool. The small dining room has a homey feel with plain red walls and mirrors. Although Open Table stated a Mother's Day buffet for $35.00 per person, we were handed dinner menus and there was no buffet offered. The half price wine menu was also a phantom due to it being Mother's Day. A freebie of pita smeared with an olive and sundried tomatoe tapenade started us off fine. Our table ordered five tapas, including an unremarkable Ceasar salad, good mussels in a flavorable but salty broth, stuffed piquita pepper, spanikopita, and alleged crab fritters. The best dish was my main, diver scallops with cheese grits. Not very Mediterranian but well prepared."

"I'll keep it short and sweet! Basil was cute quaint and had a homie vibe. Bit at all what I expected but was not disappointed! I came for the Mother's Day brunch and the food was good but the selection seemed very limited to me! However my waiter Ahmed was funny inviting knowledgable and cute! He checked on us often told stories and humored us once we got buzzed! He saved the day because if it was just for the food my experience would have just been good instead it was great! Plus, the ambiance scenery and the surrounding we're very cute plenty of flowers a water feature the music the deck it all went very well together!!! All in all I would recommend I will return and its a cute hidden buck head gem"

"WE eat across the way at Anis a lot and decided to try Basil's for lunch. Even though there was only 3 tables there, it took a really long time to get our food.
The Mezz cold platter was good. I also had the lamb burger which was very tasty. The fish taco's were boring and not good. My husband liked the Paella. And we liked the little free appetizer they brought over.
Service was slow. I had to ask twice for mayonnaise for my burger and it came pretty much after i had finished it. Atmosphere was lovely and there was even live music on a Saturday afternoon and we loved the free parking in the back.
Not sure we will go back, so many other places to choose from."

"Just a word of caution when splitting the check. Ask for it ahead or else you will get all kinds of push back from waiter because register system is old. We ordered two glasses of the same wine and then decided go ahead and order a bottle and the waiter said he had to charge for at least one glass and the bottle. :-("

"We met friends for dinner to try the restaurant during Buckhead Restaurant Week. The prices were very reasonable, and it was a great way to try different dishes with friends. "My wife and I have been going to Basil's for all of our special occasions since we first married 16 years ago. Back then, we could walk to the restaurant from where we lived. Even now, however, after moving to the suburbs, which resulted in increasing our travel time to the restaurant to over 40 minutes, we still go there every time we can find an excuse. This time, it was for our middle-school twins' spring break, so we took them along. Surprise, surprise, they loved it as much as we did...and they are picky eaters."

"Had a good Easter brunch there - not traditional but a mix of Mediterranean and breakfast items. It's an old reformed house in a nice neighborhood off Pharr road, so it's got plenty of quirky charm. The food was above average for a buffet and based on that I'd like to go try the restaurant for dinner. Friendly staff and a relaxed but appropriate atmosphere for taking your Mom out to brunch on Easter."

"Decided to try this place out for Buckhead Restaurant week. I must say I was NOT impressed. I would say overall EVERYTHING was average at best.
First, there is some random guy acting as valet. He has no uniform, no name tag, nothing that tells you he is valet other than he happens to be next to a valet sign.
Back to inside....it was self seating, which is not a bad thing (didnt need reservation). We opted for inside.
To make a long story short, the service was but courteous (not friendly), the food was mediocre at best (have you even had paella in a soup??? me either until basils). the lamb was well cooked but had NO SEASONING. mashed potatoes were instant.
Would I go here again?? No there are tooooo many other options."

"I visited and dined in your restaurant last Saturday 3/16. I really enjoyed sitting at the bar while waiting on my girl to show up, friendly conversation and nice margarita.

"We decided to try this restaurant with another couple during Buckhead Restaurant Week, and we were very pleased overall. The food was delicious. It was such a pleasant weekend that sitting outside on the porch was a great experience. My only criticism was that the descriptions of the courses did not fully cover the ingredients, since I do not like cucumbers that were in my salad (I picked them out) and olives that were in my Greek shrimp dish (I picked them out, also)."

"We tried out Basil's for Buckhead Restaurant week. They were very accomodating of our group of 7, especially since we wanted to sit on the patio. It sits off the beaten path which keeps the atmosphere romantic, quaint, and secluded. The wine list is extensive and the food is fantastic. Our waiter was very knowledgable and personable, always checking in on us to make sure we had what we needed. We had a fantastic time and will be returning frequently!"

"I went for lunch for the first time, and was pleasantly surprised. The food was excellent, the service was wonderful. The inside of the restaurant is intimate and super cozy. I would definitely go back for either lunch or dinner. I am looking forward to trying other items on the menu. Parking is a bit awkward as this restaurant is located in a neighborhood, so be prepared to walk if the restaurant is busy."

"We went to Basils specifically to partake in the Buckhead Restaurant Week. On the restaurant week web sight they had a menu for lunch. When we arrived and asked for it, they said it was a mistake and they only had a dinner special that evening. Well that was very disappointing and we do not think it was handled properly.
Even though the food was very good, it put such a negative in our mind I doubt we will ever return."

"Everything was great. We were there during Buckhead Restaurant Week. They had a mushroom flatbread that everyone loved. Most of the desert selections were gone. One of our foursome is a vegetarian and she did well.
The food was excellent, as was the selection at the bar.
It was chilly out but we sat on the patio and it was warm as they had it covered. The patio seems like it would be really awesome when it is warm out. It was not at all crowded.

"We decided to try out Basil's as part of Buckhead Restaurant Week. I called and confirmed details with the restaurant. When our group arrived, we were told they were not participating in Restaurant Week for lunch, just brunch. Seeing how they advertised this for weeks, they should have caught the mistake or honored the price. This was irresponsible and not good customer service. The waiter gave us an excuse about how the owner won't budge, even though he never asked. Well, we stayed. Food was good. "The mushroom flatbread was definitely my favorite appetizer! As for the entree, some of the best scallops I have ever had. The scallops were cooked perfectly-they were tender and sweet sitting on top of grits which had a nice texture when combined with the scallops. Dessert, once again, was phenomenal! Chocolate decadence..perfect for all those chocolate lovers out there. Small restaurant with amazing food!"

"Been going to Basil's for years and always had a memorable meal and dining experience. Until this past Valentine's Day.
I let the valet park my car then realized later that the front bumper had been practically torn from the car. After showing the vehicle to Basil's management there has been no show of responsibility (blamed the valet service who has been unaccountable). No moral responsibility no more of my business."

"While the brunch selection was good and the food tasty I was not impressed with the service. This very well could have been our particular waitress since we noticed the others were quite attentive to their tables...not ours, however.
I made the reservation online and had requested a special something for my guest who was celebrating her birthday. Nothing! That was disappointing.
We dined on the covered porch and the ambiance was less than impressive. Just not the atmosphere I was hoping for. I have eaten here once before and thoroughly enjoyed the food, as I did this time. If you're looking for something a bit more enticing I suggest eating inside."

"Since I made a reservation I figured that we would be able to sit inside the adorable, cozy home-like restaurant, but we were seating in the plastic covered front porch area. It had no ambience what so ever! The chairs were cheap and the floor was uneven and I kept rocking back and forth almost falling. Our waitress (I think she was the hostess) couldn't remember to bring things we ordered,we had to ask several times. I had to chase down someone for a refill of water! Everyone at our table had their food, the watress came over and noticed I didn't have my food and I watched her go to the table next to us and picked up a plate that was served to someone else and brought it to me. Yuk! The food was totall bland, no seasoning!!!"

"The restaurant is a small intimate place but we had a group of 14 and Basil's was very accommodating. No one had to wait long for drinks from the bar, waters were never empty and all the food came out correct and to the person who ordered it. We could enjoy each others' company without worry because everything was being taken care of. The food was great too! Pork tenderloin was awesome! I also really liked the appetizer and wine selections."
