Welcome to Suzanne's Cuisine. We offer our contemporary European cuisine lovingly prepared and served in a home and garden setting. Chef/owner Suzanne Roll has created a varied menu that highlights the years that she lived in France along with her Italian-American heritage. Most ingredients are sourced locally and hand-selected by Suzanne. Serving wines from our Wine Spectator Award of Excellence winning list in addition to cocktails from our bar. All desserts are homemade.

"We celebrated our anniversary at Suzanne's, and it was an amazing dining experience from start to finish. Our table was on the patio facing the rose garden, the service was among the best I have ever experienced (and having been a server in years past, I am picky about that!), and the food was so fresh and truly incredible.( I even felt compelled to take a picture of the salad.) From the garden fresh vegetables to the ahi, it was all cooked to perfection. Any trip to Ojai should include an evening at Suzanne's...in fact, we may return just to go to dinner there again!"

"I have been to Suzanne's twice in the last few months,The staff are friendly & warm -- very knowledgeable about the menu. I was also lucky enough both times to be there at Pixie harvest time,& Suzanne's serves a Pixie Cosmo containing the juice of an entire pixie tangerine. The best cocktail ever for lunch on a hot day! Both visits I requested a table on the patio &both times we were seated at a table nearest the gorgeous garden. I LOVED the crab salad. Just the right amount of dressing, and enough cucumber and red pepper for crunch without overwhelming the sweetness of the crab. I thought I'd have room for the chocolate/pbutter cake, but delicious as it was I had to leave a few bits. Great place for lunch!"

"Suzanne's is a little out of my price range, so I don't go as often as I would like. But every time I do go everything is near perfect. The food is excellent, the presentation carefully thought out, and the service top notch. The prices are quite reasonable considering the restaurant's all around excellence."

"Always a favorite dining location after taking a scenic afternoon drive to Ojai. Since this was a cool evening, a transparent plastic curtain separated the back patio dining area from the garden, but it still provided a pleasant view of the flowers and plants. This evening we had excellently prepared escargot appetizers before our entrees of giant prawns. We accompanied our dinners with a luscious 2010 Edge Hill Chardonnay. For an enjoyable dining experience, Suzanne's Cuisine is hard to beat."

"This was my second time drawing dinner at Suzanne's. It's a gorgeous setting with a breathtaking garden...I highly recommend eating on the patio (they have a fire going and heat lamps if it's cold). The food was outstanding and our waiter was very attentive and knowledgable about the menu. Will definitely go back next time I'm in ojai!"

"We had my Wife's Birthday dinner here on a Saturday night. The service was great and the food was delicious. We brought our own wine and was charged a $20.00 corkage fee, even with that we still made out on the wine. I would say that Suzanne's is a little pricy, but you do get good food made FRESH with very good service. So for a party of four that brought their own wine it ended up to be $145.00 a couple. We may not be back every Saturday night but we will be back for sure."

"Our dinner could not have been better. The food, wine, and service were great. I had the peppercorn fillet with grilled onions and mushrooms. Really good. Most places go crazy with the peppercorn and overwhelm the meat, not here. My wife had a shrimp dinner. Same thing...seasoning did not overwhelm the shrimp flavor and was fantastic. We will return next time we're in Ojai."

"We had lunch in the back patio by fountain. It was an absolutely gorgeous setting, & we were visited by a local scrub jay -- more interested in the fountain than us. I loved the duck confit salad that we split. We also split the roast beef sandwich, and while it was quite tasty, the wasabi wasn't spread as evenly as it could have been. Some bites had none; others were eye-wateringly HOT. Minor quibble. The roasted red potato side was excellent I normally don't drink alcohol at lunch, but we happened to be there during the Pixie orange harvest (90% of all pixies are grown in Ojai). The special cocktail was a Pixie Cosmopolitan which was AWESOME. We were pleasantly full, so we didn't try the desserts, although they sounded good."

"Discovered Suzanne's by accident over a year ago on a road trip. We had such an amazing lunch we had to go back some weeks later and try dinner. It is a two-hour drive one way from our home, but we now make the trip expressly to eat there about once every two or three months. Have never had the same thing twice, except the Pineapple Gratinee. Close your eyes and pick anything, you won't be disappointed -- everything has been awesome. The staff is warm and attentive. Reservations advised if you come half an hour or more after opening."

"Suzanne's was an amazing experience. I ordered the eggplant tart with a butter lettuce salad and my dining companions ordered penne pasta with a caesar salad and sand dabs. We all raved about our food and agreed that it was the highlight of our trip. There are so many wonderful choices that the only difficulty was on deciding what to order as it all sounded so delicious. We absolutely loved dining there and cannot wait to go back!"

"We were really disappointed with our dinner at Suzanne's. The look of the plates was dated, each with a 1980's style array of mixed vegetables which were not well cooked or seasoned. My brandade was so-so. My sister, a meatball aficionado, ordered the meatballs and found them dense and not particularly tasty. This was pointed out to our server who, unhelpfully, told her that they've gotten really good feedback on the meatballs! Speaking of the server, when we asked questions about white wines she told us she didn't drink white wines so couldn't answer. She did seek info from someone else in the restaurant and came back with info that was less than helpful. People speak about Suzanne's as if it's not to be missed. We say, skip it."

"This was my first visit to Suzanne's. Everything was ready when I arrived and the menu was full of choices. I had a seat with a view of the garden and it was a cold night but the space heaters solved that issue nicely.
The meal was fantastic... everything was well prepared. I had steak so I had originally said "well done" but realized that I eat my steak "medium" so I changed that above. The desert was also excellent - a fruit tart with cherries. Not too heavy and very tasty!.
Excellent restaurant!"

"Relaxed atmosphere with food that is second to none - and that includes most Los Angeles restaurants as well as other around Ojai, Ventura and Santa Paula. In warm weather the covered patio area is especially pleasant, but it is nice even when buttoned up for winter."

"While the setting on the patio was lovely, the food at lunch overall was disappointing. The grilled vegetable quesadillo was dry, with a very skimpy portion of filling. The tuna salad was just OK -- nothing to come back for.We have not had dinner there; perhaps their dinner menu is what has earned it its reputation. Based on lunch alone, I would not return."

"The food here is amazing with a lot to chose from! The salad was crispy, the marinated steak was incredible with a great presentation. More than ample portions. Loved that the food was served very hot (especially the pasta). Terrific service! Only uncomfortable thing was having to wrangle for a table for two that was not in the middle of the action, even though we were early (with reservations) and restaurant was empty...they must have a lot of regulars who save particular tables.
Will definitely go again (and save a particular table) - great food with reasonable prices!"

"My husband and I just moved up Highway 150 in between Carpinteria and Ojai. We wanted to try something new and Suzannes's had excellent reviews. We were not disappointed. The service was excellent and the food was outstanding (fresh and local). My husband said his steak was cooked to perfection. I recommend the brussel sprout appetizer...and the 2008 Gainey Merlot!! Suzanne's also had a lovely atmospehere. We'll definitely be back. Reservations recommended."
