Hideaway Steakhouse opened in March 2011 as a new premier dining destination in the north Denver metropolitan area, combining the classic American steakhouse with modern, contemporary cuisine. Located just 12 miles north of downtown Denver, in Westminster and tucked away among secluded tree groves and tranquil open space, Hideaway Steakhouse offers diners an upscale and sophisticated yet comfortable dining experience for lunch and dinner.
In addition to the selection of CAB Beef, the hand-cut steaks are served with a thoughtful and wide variety of potatoes, fresh vegetables and innovative sauces, the menu features many specialties that change seasonally, and encourages guests to return frequently to try new things. "Having dined at this venue before it became the Hideaway, I was eager to see how that once-atrocious space was turned into a steakhouse. I was stunned by the transformation. It was as if the remodel incorporated the best of the interiors from Denver's fine steakhouses. The room was quite comfortable and, thanks to the booths, nicely separated -- unlike some spots where diners must sit at side-by-side tables, The bar looked like a place I should return. The menu was ample and the food quite good, except the greens with the caprese salad were heavy on dressing. My biggest issue, and the one area that does not rival other Denver steakhouses: The service was inattentive, slow and unfriendly. I'm hoping our server was merely having a bad day."

"I love the ambiance of this restaurant! The 10 oz. filet mignon with the brandy peppercorn sauce was fabulous, and as always the ribs were to die for! Always perfect, tender, and falling off the bone. The service we received was exceptional! We go for Happy Hour on a regular basis and love the food and service we receive. Great bar scene with just moderate noise level so can carry on a conversation with others. It truly is a neighborhood gem!"

"We've been several times.....this is the first time we were disappointed in the food. We both ordered prime rib, one a thinner cut prepared medium, the other a thicker cut prepared med/rare. Med/rare was very tough, hard to cut and even harder to chew. However, it was handled very efficiently and fairly. We will return."

"I've been here twice now, and the food has been outstanding on both occasions. The service was excellent - the waiter was there when we needed him without stopping by too often. Definitely recommend for a special occasion, as it is a bit on the pricey side."

"Table service itself was acceptable. When I requested that my under cooked steak be returned to the kitchen for more cooking, it was brought back to my table untouched. The manager came to my table, sat down without invitation, and glared at me. No remedy was offered by the manager. I paid for the meal and left. There is a tangible arrogance at the restaurant.
I will never go back, nor will I recommend this diner."

"For the price the food was not what was expected. Steak was cooked as I ordered but the flavor was just ok. Had the crab cakes which came with a slaw that was heavy on onions, crab cakes were ok but the slaw overpowered the taste of the crab. Ordered sweet corn with peppers that came to the table cold. Server was very friendly and attentive and did a great job. Food for my wife and I just had no wow to it, would probably not visit again, was not worth the price of the ticket."

"The bartender was rude when I simply asked for a cocktail menu ( he was too busy taking shots with someone)! Then when we got our drinks the manhattan martini tasted like just liquor in martini glass.The service was straight out horrible, we were sat in the dark by ourselves which was fine but we were left empty with no service for long periods of time....The prices were extremely high ( 54 for a steak) for a place that tasted like a chilis or applebees!! Our steak was unacceptable even at a chilis. It was the worst meat, 2cm, over cooked and horrible we could not eat it. The sides were pathetic and looked like frozen vegies, it was insane! This place would make serious money if they replaced the chef and the waiter!I am still stunned!"

"Bone-in rib-eye was succulent. As in any top steakhouse -- an order of medium comes out medium-rare. Sauteed Halibut was very good.
The only drawback was price. Probably 10-15% above what the quality justified. I would still recommend Hideaway since the food and ambiance is worthit."

"My first time at this restaurant was for Easter brunch and I have a standing rule not to dislike a restaurant based solely on the experience on a holiday. There was enough "promise" in our meals to warrant another try.
Brunch consisted of the flank steak and eggs for my mom and the petite filet for me. Both steaks and veggies were luke warm to cool. My mom sent hers back (I didn't, I didn't want a nuked filet). For $30 and $50 a plate respectively, it should be served hot."

"When our waiter came and offered to go over the wine list we politely declined in favor of ordering beer. They did not carry Heiniken and we were given the option of the tap beers. Once he returned with our order he once again wanted to go over the wine list. We declined and he said under his breath "I guess barely wine will do."

The problems began when my husband's steak was under cooked twice after being grilled extensively in a childlike manner by the waiter. The Alaskan King crab legs were a very small portion and included 1 claw, had no taste and when asked if they were frozen the waiter answered of course. The food was excellent, perfectly cooked and seasoned. Our party of 3 totalled $160, with tip, for a Tbone and 2 NY strip steaks, and sides and salads. Salads had way too much dressing on top."

"This was our first time to Hideaway. We took advantage of the 5280 menu and were not disappointed. We have lived in the neighborhood for over 20 years and visited the various restaurants that have occupied that location. Hideaway is a welcome addition. The food was exceptional. The service was also equally what we expected - very friendly and professional. Unlike other reviewers experiences, service was prompt and in-line with a higher-end restaurants. The noise level was louder than we had expected, but not overwhelming. Given the standard pricing for dinner, we probably will not return except for a special celebration, but lunch is affordable, so the Hideaway will be on our summer lunch list to try the creek-side patio."

"This was our third visit to Hideaway and we have always enjoyed ourselves there. This place would be outstanding if the food quality was more consistant, we have found the quality can and does vary somewhat. The food is never less then good but it can be outstanding at times, the service has always been outstanding and if the offerings could reach that same level Hideaway would be one of the best. We will return."

"This is not first time we enjoyed Hideaway. For some reason our entire group thought ribs were where it was at. They did fall off the bones and were tasty but honestly our Male server was a zero. Started at happy hour which is truly a great value and good food...the bartenders rock but there again...need some personality with the servers!"

"waiter said they had a new chef, ergo. food slow in getting out of the kitchen and prime rib orders were both way over done. (we did not send them back due to time factor). "We visited the Hideaway during 5280 week, though the menu was limited for the week there were still a good variety of choices. We both had the Fillet with mashed potatoes and asparagus. The steak was cooked perfectly, and very good, the sides however, were just about average. After being seated right away we found that the waiter took his time throughout the whole evening, we were ready to order right when we sat down, even though our menus were folded he didn't take our order until the third trip to our table. We were quite disappointed with the service and thought the food was good for the area, but I enjoy steaks smoked in our home smoker just as well. The star of the show was the berry crem brule! WOW!! I would go back just for that!!"
