Hi-Life Restaurant & Lounge is one of the Upper Eastside’s most popular and longstanding neighborhood restaurants (est. 1993). Hi-Life's 1930's decor is the backdrop for restaurant & lounge classics like flame-grilled steaks and hamburgers, broiled and seared fresh fish specials, bountiful "Big Bowls" of pasta and entree salads, and last but not least a Sushi/Raw bar. (Hi-Life was the first NYC restaurant to install a traditional sushi bar in a non-Japanese restaurant setting in 1993. Expertly prepared sushi & sashimi at Hi-Life is a natural extension of the classic Raw Bar one might expect in our 1930's environment.)
Hi-Life also serves a "traditional Eastside brunch" that features fresh squeezed juices, complimentary blueberry muffins & cinnamon toast as well as a 2.95 brunch cocktail deal.
In the warmer months Hi-Life opens all the French doors along Second Avenue to provide an inviting "cafe society" experience.
"Always enjoy my meal here -- especially chopped cobb salad which is big with lots of fresh ingredients. Brunch was also generous size and eggs prepared as ordered. Be mindful there are lots of children here. Wait staff is efficient, professional, and friendly."

"I've been to this restaurant a numerous of time and don't think I'll ever come back. The manager on duty was so rude. My friend had to change her son and the manager suggested that she changes him on the floor since there was no where else to change him. She ended up changing him in the front and when I asked her for a bag to put the diaper she again gave an attitude. Then when we sat the waiter tells us that there's no more muffins and then when I ordered eggs benedict with salmom they didn't have salmon. I suggested to teh waiter that he should offer us an round and he had to clear it with the manager who we heard wasn't happy about that since she was complaining really long. I think you should look who you have as managers."

"A step or two up from a diner in food quality and atmosphere. We often go with family groups of kids and parents. There have many flat screens playing sports.Wide variety of food choices from salads to burgers, fish, chicken, pasta, and even sushi. Turkey burger, pad Thai and brown rice vegetable stir fry are very good."
