"I have dined at West's before and decided to take a friend, who had never been, here for his birthday dinner. He commented that he will never forget this dinner. Our server, Roxanne, was discretely attentive as well as the other wait staff. Our food was wonderful from appetizer to entre with rich, warm, elegant decor. Although, we did not have wine with our dinner, we were impressed with the great wine selections that were offered. We would both highly recommend West Steak and Seafood."

"Service was impeccable, our server Cari was knowledgeable, friendly, always there when we wanted something but no way obtrusive. The bus boys were amazing, we admittedly drink a lot of water and our glasses rarely got half empty before being filled up. Great wine selection, nice bread, shrimp cocktail was very original presentation but perfectly cooked and excellent, ceasar salad was great. New york strip steak was very tender and succulent. The Chilean sea bass was incredible, not as thick as we would have hoped but we had told our server not to undercook it so maybe chef had adjusted but taste was wonderful. And the sides were all great, mac and cheese, mushrooms and most amazing potato gnocchi that was so incredibly light, to die for."

"Very nice romantic dinner for our anniversary. Great food and awesome service. I requested a nice romantic table when I made our reservations as we were celebrating our anniversary and was pleasantly surprised when our server congratulated us and brought us a complimentary desert with a candle on it. Very nice gesture."

"The bone-in ribeye at West is the best steak I have had in the state of California. I say this is after living in San Francisco for six months, sinking my teeth into whatever cow gets close enough. The starters are amazing too--one of the best carpaccios I've encountered. A targeted premium wine list is complemented by a meticulous selection of local beers. Do not pass this one by."

"Exceptional dining experience -- food and service outstanding. Prices are high but if you're looking to treat yourself, then West Steak and Seafood is the place to do so. Steak's are prepared to perfection with delicious veggies, mash potato for sides. The seafood is fresh and prepared to melt in your mouth. One of my favorite restaurants in San Diego.. Happy Hour is busy but worth getting to early - prices are moderate and food selection great. I can't wait for my next visit!"

"Excellent location for a romantic dinner for two or a special occasion with a group. WEST is now our annual choice for a birthday dinner. The food is excellent, the service friendly, informative and attentive and the ambiance is just right - not too quiet, not too loud and great decor and lighting. My husband and son are very particular about their steaks and WEST doesn't disappoint. Their respective steaks (though different cuts) were cooked exactly as requested and the sides were so generous that we could have shared two easily between the four of us. Two of us had fish and again (though we chose different fish) the preparation, flavor and presentation were perfect. A truly excellent restaurant and a very enjoyable evening."

"We were seated in a booth directly next to the opening to the kitchen - there was a large opening with no door, affording a less than desirable view from one side of the booth, and much kitchen noise - probably the worst table in the restaurant. "Overall this was a great experience to take my parent out for dinner.The food was excellent; including the table side pour on drinks and french service for bread. Portions were great. The lava cake took a bit long but was well worth it. Our server was great and the Maitre'D/Host/Manager? Eddie was friendly.

"We often go here since it is one of our favorite restaurants in San Diego county. It was a very busy Saturday evening & we had to wait an extremely long time for our reservation. "When I am going to be spending over a hundred dollars per person, I have certain expectations. A very rude valet is not one of them. I arrived with a handicap guest to find no parking. Asked the valet if I could park in oneof the spots that were empty by the door. The answer was no. I was directed to take the spot for take out at the next door restaurant. Rudely, I might add. The food was perfect. No it was better than that! The waiter did not understand that we were in no rush and want a slow and easy meal. He was all over us and would not go away. Food came out kitchen out of cycle. My guest asked for beer with the meal and it arrived at the end of the meal. We never asked for the check and it arrived before the desert menu. Dissipointed."

"Food was exceptional as always!!! So was the service, Nicole in the bar was great! The prime cowboy rib eye was a fantastic steak and the sea bass was absolutely mouth watering, just melts in your mouth! Chris was the friendliest host I have ever come in contact with, his smile is contagious. The timing was perfect for every course. Could not have asked for a better date night, thank you West!"

"While the food was OK here, our service experience was really bad. My husband and I brought one of our foreign friends here for dinner. Our friend didn't speak any English, so I would have to give him my recommendations based on my quick menu translation. The waiter was soooooo.... pushy for us to switch every single of our selections to a much more expensive ones, that our foreign friend got really interested what are we talking about with the waiter for so long. I was too embarassed to translate the whole conversation to our friend. Their prices are already hight as they are, and when you are being pushed (in front of the person you are wining and dining) into more expensive selections, you loose your appetite really quick. So we did."

"Great Food! Because the price is a little high I shared my steak and sides with my child. It was still enough for the both of us. We were not dressed that well because we had just come from a gymnastics competition. We felt a little out of place but were still treated with the utmost respect. I would like to come back with my friends and no children. Very nice restaurant with tasty food!"

"My fiancee and I went here the day after Valentine's to avoid crowds. Most importantly, my fiancee was very impressed with the food. We shared the Seared Jumbo Sea Scallop appetizer which was done to absolute perfection. Her entree was the Lobster Raviolone, while I enjoyed the Cowboy Ribeye. Everything was cooked exactly the way we liked it and was absolutely delicious. Our waitress could have been just a bit more attentive, but overall, this was an outstanding experience. Between an appetizer, two entrees, a spinach salad, and two top shelf drinks each, the bill was just over $200, putting it more or less on par with a restaurant of this caliber."

Come here often so know how service is normally. so we disappointed that once served bread was never asked for more or checked on had a couple empty water cups and never filled. Tables around us were served first and we were there first and ordered before them thats when i spoke to manager Eddie which was very nice. again only spoken up because eat there often and was disappointed for the first time. But again Manager Eddie was very nice and handled the situation great. still recommend but hope they dont do this again just not acceptable. the team works as a team and is great yet not this time."

"West Steak and Seafood has got to be one of the better restaurants I've been to. The service was superb and polite. The restaurant was packed so we had to wait about 20 minutes beyond our reservation time before being seated. But believe me...it was a good thing. The entire experience was worth the wait. The filet mignon was tender and flavorful. The general ambience was fabulous! My wife and I will be returning!"
