"We requested a booth when we made our reservation on open table. They're always very accommodating and when we got there were promptly seated. Server was very nice and forgot a couple of things but because everything else was so good we didn't push the issue. In the end we had a great dinner as the orange chicken, tavern burger, flat bread pizza and Cobb salad were delicious! We will definitely be back as food is consistently great!"

"I am always amazed at the food and service I receive at Thirsty lion. For such a large place they do a wonderful job at making sure that every guest has a great experience. I love the corned beef and cabbage, I am always amazed at the quality of the food."

"There were eight of us and we lucked out with the round table! Very pleased that you take reservations even on days like Mothers Day which is always a busy day and we're used to having to wait for a table even with our group which is usually even larger. Service was great, everyone was pleased with their food and it is a fun place!. Enjoyed it immensely!."

"This was the 2nd time we've been to The Thirsty Lion..............the first time we were there, I would have given it 5 stars all the way around. This time, not so much. First of all, we had reservations, but were asked to sit at a high table in the bar. Had to ask for missing silverware twice; did not receive water all the way around the table, as requested; dinner was good; but the hot fudge sundae I ordered for dessert was late and was partially melted by the time it hit the table. Would probably try this restaurant again, but this was definitely a mediocre dining experience, especially considering the high prices ."

"I love the food! But the poor waitresses are always dressed in very deeminging outfits. I think this place was trying to attract a young hip crowd so they have made the bar the central focus with very loud music and several TV's around. But this neighborhood has very few restaurants so this one almost looks like the Spaghetti Factory with a ton of kids around. Lol! I would still highly recommend this place. Wood burning pizza, grilled salmon, Kung poa chicken and the corned beef and cabbage are amazing!! Nicely stocked bar too."

"Thirsty Lion is a spacious hall with a bar at the back and a few booths along the edges. With dark woods and a subtle understated decor punctuated by flat screen TVs along the walls, it has a nice pub/sports bar vibe for groups and families, but if you go on a Friday or Saturday night, be prepared for high levels of noise...to the point that it's hard to hear each other speak. The music is pretty loud too, adding to the cacophony. Food is pretty reliably tasty, with big portions and good service -- no complaints there. Good place to bring a big group, but if you're looking for an intimate dining experience, look elsewhere."

"I've been to TL several times over the years it's been open. As I recall, it was just classier after it first opened and has declined ever since. It just doesn't have any pazzaz. The ambience is one of little kids and people in sweat pants watching sports. I know it's a sports bar, but come on. Maybe it's just people taking casual to all new lows. whatever. But the food wasn't great. My husband's fish and chips was swimming in grease. He couldn't eat it. My shrimp and mussels was pretty good, but nothing special. I guess that's my rating of it now...nothing special going on there."

"I don't think you can zip into Thirsty Lion unless you have a reservation for a Friday or Saturday night! Open Table made it so easy- we were easily in time for the Happy Hour menu while 20 people were waiting 30+ minutes for their tables. The one drawback was the DEAFening noise- the music is TOO LOUD!!!! I'm not talking about the bar but at the regular tables- yikes! It was nerve jangling and detracted from the experience. I asked our waitress to ask to turn it down and she said she would "try". I think it got turned down a smidge. Would think twice about going back for this reason which is a shame- because the food is fantastic. Great Happy Hour and Kids menu!!!"

"This is the fourth time we have eaten at this restaurant. Our prior three experiences were very good. However, this time, several things were amiss.
1. the music level was WAY TOO LOUD and to make matters worse, the music level was turned up even more when we were sitting at our table. Our 25 year old son had a headache by the end of the dinner. We could barely understand each other at the table the music was so loud. This is already a very noisy place, as it is a large sports bar.
2. my wife's pear and gorgazolla salad was ICE COLD... not just the plate. the lettuce, etc. was so cold it almost hurt her teeth. We suspect that the salad was made up ahead of time, and placed in the cooler. It was apparently not a "freshly" made salad."

"I've been to the Thirsty Lion twice, and I've been especially impressed with the staff on each occasion. The helpful suggestions on the menu show that the staff interested in making your meal enjoyable and less about simply taking your order; they want you to enjoy the meal when it arrives. The fact that they offer to separate the bill on a fairly large group makes it so much nicer, and I feel like leaving a larger tip than normal when I'm not jousting to divide up the check and figure tips. "Made a reservation for that evening at the Thirsty Lion, so when we weren't promptly seated
(we were asked to wait 15-20 minutes) I'll admit I was pretty annoyed. The hostess said because I made the reservation so close to the time that we showed up, they were running behind. Not sure why that would be - - if the restaurant didn't have any seats available for the stated reservation time, wouldn't that mean I wouldn't be able to make a reservation? In any case, our wait wasn't too long, and we got seated at a good table. The service was pretty decent and the food wasn't bad either, which went a long way toward
salvaging the experience."

"I have been to the Thirsty Lion several times now and always enjoy myself; however, this time there were a couple little glitches in my experience. First, my date asked for onion rings instead of fries, and he got fries. Secondly, the coffee I ordered was warm, not piping hot. Now, to me, these two things are not a big deal and I was not irritated in the slightest--I know how restaurants get really busy. Our waitress brewed a fresh pot of coffee immediately and served me a nice, hot, searing cup of coffee just the way I like it. The manager came over to check on the onion rings and they were served pronto. Keep up the good work Thirsty Lion. I will be back, no worries."

"Overall experience as a first time guest: 3 stars, good but not great. Our waitress took a long time to get our food orders, our reservation was for 9 @ 8:15, she took our food order at 9, and some of our food came out late, the kitchen staff "forgot" about it. The risotto special was phenomenal! I would go back but probably for lunch only, definitely make reservations!"

"Very vibrant and fun restaurant. It was NBA All Star night, and TV's were on either with that showing, or the NCAA Basketball. Folks were both enjoying sitting up at the bar, as well as enjoying a good dinner. It was not overly noisy, but it was extremely busy. Booking through Open Table for us was a huge bonus, as we did not wait long prior to being seated, and were ahead of others who were informed of a 45 minute wait for a table. Service was efficient, and good. Food was very good also.
There were both large family or friend groups, with varying ages of kids and adults. As well as romantic couples, or just folks out for a nice night.
Overall, it was worth going back again."

"Since discovering this restaurant back during the holidays, I have been back a couple of times. I am impressed with the variety of food choices on the menu and the overall good taste. It's easy to get in and out of and has something for everyone, even the picky eaters. I definitely recommend The Thirsty Lion for any sized group."
