Scion Restaurant is located 2 blocks from the Dupont Circle red line stop. Scion has been recognized for our great craft beer selection and delicious contemporary American cuisine with subtle Asian influences. Whether you're at Scion for the first time or as a neighborhood regular, you'll enjoy Scion's always welcoming atmosphere, great service, and fantastic food and drink menus. Scion's menu features a large selection of mouthwatering appetizers, delectable entrees, as well as an eclectic variety of craft beers and wine. Great happy hour specials can be enjoyed Monday through Friday and our popular brunch is served on Saturday and Sunday. The menu changes seasonally and all current food and drink menus are available online. Enjoy a great meal on Scion's sidewalk patio, atrium, or modern dining room. Private party rooms are available as well.

"Took a couple girl friends to Scion for a boozy brunch and had an INCREDIBLE time! We opted to do the bottomless mimosas with our meals and it was a great decision. The fruit bar was fresh and tasty, the food was amazing and they never let our glasses get empty. I loved the fact that they didn't rush us out and we ended up having a 4 hour brunch because we decided to stay and drink and chit chat. I will for sure be back!"

"I love Scion. Their spin on the ordinary is great! Like their LBJ Mac and cheese. It's yummy Mac and cheese with lobster, bacon and jalapeños. Delish! I find the food always dependable, with ample portions."

"First impressions were that this place was really small, but found out that they do have a back room not visible when you walk in. The hostess tried to seat us at a two top, wedged between two others that were already occupied. When my wife asked for a table with a little more privacy, since it was our annniversary, we were moved to a four top. This was better, but still next to a large group,including a restless kid or two. Once they left, things were better. The wine list was pretty limited, but the beer list looked extensive. Our dinners were both good, I had the grilled wild salmon and my wife had the peppercorn fillet medallions w/ mushroom cream sauce. Bottom line, I would go back for a casual dinner but not a special occasion."

"3.5 stars. nice to sit in the outside area, very quiet. the service was good, kitchen was quick. the brie appetizer was tiny, and not very tasty, the jam looked and tasted like smuckers just piled on the side of the plate. the main courses were a bit better, the pumpkin ravioli was a good portion with a delicious cream sauce. the spinach salad was fresh with tasty candied walnuts but there was a little too much raw red onion. i asked for shrimp and only got 3 medium sized on the side so that was a bit disappointing. it is a solid place for dupont, it has a GREAT beer list though and everything is reasonably priced."

"I love the atmosphere of this place, open but cozy and the staff is great. I came here with a few friends for lunch after my wedding. When I made the reservation I noted it would be a wedding reception lunch,we were taken into a small but open room,& the staff was accommodating with taking photos of the group. I definitely would return to try more dishes. We shared the edamame hummus & Curried Potato Chickpea Croquettes both were vegetarian. I had the Brussel Sprout Curry and asked for it extra spicy and the kitchen got it close to my spice level of enjoyment. My husband had the Pumpkin Goat Cheese Ravioli,which he said had good flavors but was kinda heavy. Service was well timed & the wine/beer options=good. Reasonably priced gem!"

"We were visiting DC and looking for a place with a menu to satisfy a vegetarian and omnivore. This place nailed it and good reviews triggered a reservation. When we arrived, the condition of the outside chairs made my wife express hope that the owner put $ into food instead of furniture. The food arrived and hope was rewarded. We'd go back again in a heartbeat."

"This was my first time at Scion brunch, but it will not be my last. After opting for the bottomless mimosas ($13), I was not disappointed as they brought carafes to the table instead of one glass at a time. The food was very good as well with the table splitting the Potato Nachos. I ordered the Monte Cristo, which was great also."

"We had brunch again at Scion. A happening place, buzzing with customers and energy on Sunday mornings. Luckily we had reservations! My omlette was terrific, stuffed with the various ingredients I ordered; my friend's veggie sandwich scrumptious. Prices are right; the coffee is a bit too strong. Nice fresh fruit table complementary."

"Food was fantastic for brunch! We had the crab cake benedict, lobster hash and lobster reuben and I recommend it all! However, the mimosas were weak and full of orange juice but the beermosas are good (better than a blue moon). I didn't like how you can't order one drink and then decide to make it bottomless after one?! Made no sense.. but overall, I'd go back for the food."

"This was my second visit to Scion and I was not disappointed. Service was amazing - we didn't have to ask for anything! Food was amazing- I had the build your own omelet with a chocolate croissant (YUM!). Drinks were amazing - try the smoke and blood bloody mary (it has scotch!)."

"Our waitress was good however the restaurant was out of a lot of items. The carbonation didn't work, so no sodas (or cocktails that required soda) were available. They were out of a couple beers we wanted. The food was ok. Nothing terribly exciting."

"A very diverse menu, with everything from turkey meatloaf to a unique scallop special. I had a special Italian wedding soup and Mediterranean lamb dish...both were outstanding. My dining companion also raved. The dessert, a pecan chocolate tart, was disappointing. Seemed prefab.
Service also was outstanding. Very knowledgeable and helpful, guiding us through the menu, since we were new there. Also we were delighted to discover a Monday night half-price special on bottles of wine!
Ambiance is very casual, and prices are reasonable for what you get. My one suggestion: Ditch the paper napkins. You're worthy of better!"

"Great food. My one complaint would be that we weren't told bottomless brunch cocktails would be cut off at 3:30pm when we initially ordered them. Only when our waitress brought out our first round of drinks at 3:00pm did they reveal that we only had 30 minutes to get our money's worth. Management was unsympathetic when we brought this to their attention."

"I had friends in town and needed a restaurant near their Dupont Hotel. I took a stab in the dark and came up with Scion! I had the stuffed shrimp and it was very good. The crab was a bit fishy tasting for my taste though.
What really put this restaurant over the top though, was the service. Attentive, pleasant, very good with the kids.
My guests applauded my choice, and I applaud Scion."

"I absolutely cannot say enough about how wonderful the service was here. I made reservations for a Sat. brunch and despite a line running out the front door (AND it was FREEEEZING out that day!!), we were seated immediately. The hostess was incredibly friendly and made sure to ask us if we were ok with the seat due to its proximity to the front door, but we weren't bothered by the cold so we stayed where she offered us a seat. Our server was very attentive and gave us some great recommendations. I ordered the Huevos Rancheros and bloody mary (extra spicy) and my friend ordered the Scion Sunrise. The server suggested getting that with the pastry of the day, Very Berry, and it was a great pastry. Everything was fresh & delish!"

"First time at Scion after walking past it for years. Nice menu with plenty of vegetarian options. Got there early and enjoyed a nice happy hour with $5 glasses of good wine and reduced-price appetizers. Service was friendly and attentive but we were definitely being rushed out. Arrived at 5:30 and the place was empty; however, our entrees arrived before we even finished our appetizers. Although the place was more full as we were leaving, the rush was unnecessary. If I lived in the immediate neighborhood, I could see this place being our go-to place; however, I won't go out of my way to return."

"Scion was excellent. they have gluten free, vegan, vegatarian selections which is what I needed. I have celiac disease and it was nice finding a menu with many selections including pasta.
I had the salmon and it was superb!"

"Came here with my boyfriend for brunch on his birthday. Staff was great. Atmosphere was fantastic. The bottomless drinks were terriffic. We had to wait between fifteen and twenty minutes for our table since we were late for our reservation, but we started drinking at the bar which was fine. I would definitely make reservations as there was a steady crowd the entire time. Would definitely come back with friends for a great time."

"I came here for brunch with some friends. We had made reservations, and that is definitely recommended, as the wait for a table when we arrived was about a hour and a half. Overall, the food was great, we each enjoyed various renditions of the create-your-own omelet, along with the bottomless mimosas. The service was a bit spotty--when a place offers bottomless mimosas, I expect just that... my glass should not be allowed to run dry (after 1 round). I acknowledge the place was packed, but 15 minutes with an empty glass and no one check on us, then made to feel rushed out of our seats?--kind of soured the experience. I might be back to try lunch or dinner, because the food was very good, but I'll steer clear of the over-busy brunch time."

"I went for brunch and had the vanilla french toast. The restaurant also has a "fruit buffet" (bananas, pineapple, melons) that's included with whatever you order. The food comes out quickly and they clearly don't support parties lingering for a long time, but I'll definitely be back."

"I went for brunch with a group of friends, and we had a great time. The food was good and we all opted for the bottomless mimosas, which was great! "Scion features an interesting array of cuisines. Their Italian-themed dishes are quite good, and others range from Asian -inspired to down home Americana. They carry it off well. Scion is a great place for a small group with different tastes, as there is something to please everyone. Don't miss the appetizers."
