"dinner was great. Our friends were running a little late and we did not feel rushed or pressured to sit down. Had a nice long meal, which was delicious. We had some appetizers, main courses and 1 dessert - all quite yummy. Would definitely recommend."

"Mother's day early dinner, three generations at a table, and the food was fantastic. The quiet atmosphere allowed us to hear each other, but also not be afraid to laugh out loud without disturbing others. The staff were attentive, and worked with every member of the dining party on their specific needs. The food was fantastic - and the menu varied enough for all to be happy. I am so impressed and will be planning more special occasion dinners there, as well as the ad hoc "got a free night so let's go out" spontaneous reservation. My highest recommendation."

"The beet salad was one of the prettiest I'd ever seen. And tasty. The main course (duck) was a bit small, but lovely. It's not a good place for a growing boy or a pregnant woman -- not enough food for either category -- but enough for anyone else. As an adult woman, I left the table satisfied."

"We had a very pleasant dinner. Service was great. Food was good, but not great. For some reason based on the descriptions on the website, I was expecting a lot more vegetarian options, and more creative use of vegetables and non-meat products - however, this turned out not be so. I guess my expectations were wrongly set to begin with. But other than that we had a very pleasant meal."

"We love Newton's Table -- it's our favorite restaurant in Bethesda. By now we've sampled most of the items on the fixed menu. Rather than rhapsodize about each, let me point out the one item we suggest avoiding -- the Fuzu. Too salty and generic. Better versions of the same thing are routinely available in any upscale Asian restaurant. Other than that, though, dig in with confidence!"

"Food came very slowly. We had 3 courses at lunch and our food came out 45 minutes after we sat down. I thought it was pricey for the portion sizes. The beet salad was beautiful but for $14, it was a decorative but I left very dissatisfied. Probably wont go back. One last thing, DO NOT ORDER THE CHEESE SAMPLE! We ordered the 3 cheese sample, and it was literally 3, very thin, 1x1 slice of cheese, 3 pieces of bread and 4 spoons of sauce for $11. I've gotten bigger slices of cheese at Whole Foods for free for samples."

"This was our 1st time dining at Newton's Table and we were celebrating my husband's birthday. From our 1st drink at the bar down to our dessert everything was amazing. The salmon and tuna entrees were outstanding as was the service. I can not say enough great things about this restaurant. I will definiteley be back and will absolutely recommend it to my friends!! "Food was good but not great. I've definitely had better for cheaper. They had this mayo sauce that they served in 3 of my dishes, seriously? The Kobe dumplings were really good. The crabcakes and pork were pretty good.
Ambiance was quite strange. The decor is odd but not odd in a good way. The waiters were nice but we had 4 different people asking us what we wanted and no one really creating a nice mood. Definitely not an Anniversary place so regret going there for our special evening. Overall is an okay restaurant."

"I hesitate to praise Newton's publicly, lest reservations become too difficult...but Newton's Table is hands-down the best restaurant in Washington DC. Chef Dennis Friedman and Robert are as talented as they come and make a fantastic duo- the dining experience they create is, quite simply, impeccable. Best meal I've had in years, with service to boot.
I hear Chef Dennis is gracing the masses with a new quick casual concept: Newton's Noodles- having tried their "fuzu" I know it will be a runaway success and hope they continue to expand, for all our sakes."

"I was expecting quite a bit from this place based on the reviews, but it did not live up to that promise. In general, the food was mostly just bland. My tuna was served mid-well instead of the mid-rare that I had asked for, but even so, the tuna was under-seasoned and the only flavorful thing on the plate was the mushroom risotto. My dining companion had the duck entree which was also over-cooked and under-seasoned. Dessert was no better with the mango pieces in the beignets so large they had to be cut with a knife to be eaten. The beignet dough was under-cooked and gummy. If you're going to charge downtown prices in Bethesda, you should be serving top-notch fare and Newton's Table simply does not."

"We had a spectacular experience. Our waiter was knowledgeable and attentive without being intrusive. The food was delicious-fresh, perfectly prepared. I had the red snapper on a bed of creamy jasmine rice with a ginger lemon broth. The fish was crisp and seared on the outside and moist on the inside. My husband had the bison steak which was tender and flavorful. The gougeres were cheesy little puffs of heaven! We will definitely return to Newton's Table."

"This is a truly wonderful restaurant right in the heart of Bethesda. The owner/manager actually called me by name as though expecting me while many managers look at you like you're a martian from outer space - even if you have a reservation, The wait staff hits just the right tone, friendly, knowledgeable but not cloying. But the real attraction is the food - possibly the best meal I have had in years - maybe ever. It was red snapper over exotic grains with the lightest, most delicious broth. I returned for lunch, which is a mere $15 for appetizer and entree, and it was a similar experience and equally delicious. And you can carry on a conversation. Definitely my new favorite place to dine in Bethesda."

"Newton's Table is one of our favorites. Chef Dennis' excellent food is creative, fresh, and would delight any foodie or newbie alike. The menu is not intimidating, but offers wonderful seasonal items with a creative flair as well as staples that will have you coming back again. And the desserts - YUM.
Service is professional and friendly, but not stuffy. Timing between courses was excellent. Servers were attentive and knowledgeable.

Dinner: Coconut Fuzu, Bison Ribeye, Salmon, Mushroom Ravioli
Dessert: Banana Caramel Roll, Chocolate Crunch, Homemade Ice Cream

"I think this is now the best restaurant in Bethesda. All our dishes were original and delicious. Special mention for the 14 Ozzie bison ribeye which was not too large after all because it all disappeared - meltingly soft. The nori tuna was as great as advertised. And the service was exceptional, just the right level of attention without hovering or hurrying."

"A decent meal, but nothing special. Overall felt like there was a gap between the price and the experience. You can certainly do much worse in the area, and if you're up for some innovative dishes, worth checking this out.
Nice wine list. The cheese puffs were excellent, highly recommend. The salad (with bacon) was fine, though a bit too light on the dressing.
My noodle main entre, a sort of Japanese pad thai, was a great idea, but sort of fell flat overall, with an overwhelming sweetness, no subtlety among the flavors.
A colleague's tuna was quite incredible to taste from across the table, but as it wasn't my dish, can't rate based only on that."
