"We brought our daughter here for her birthday & it was just lovely. The waiters & waitresses were attentive & the food was delicious. We all loved our entrees. I'd never tasted goat & asked the waiter if he could bring me a piece. He brought a small bowl-enough for the 4 of us to share. It was very tasty-will def order it next time we're here. I had requested a birthday cake when making the reservation, but was out of town with no phone reception. Since they weren't able to contact us they created a cake out of Indian dessert items. It was very creative & tasty--again, enough for us to share. The waitress sang happy birthday with us. The whole evening was just so delighttful, I'd highly recommend Curry Mantra. We will definitely return."

"My wife and I very much enjoyed our meal of tandoori-stuffed peppers for appetizer, Lamb in a pistachio cream gravy, spinach paneer and curried chick peas. Did not finish the food! I can't stay away from the spinach. They serve a nice Reisling the wines by the glass pair well. They had a combo playing which very much added to the atmosphere."

"normally Indian buffets are not that good, but the food here was delicious. Best buffet I've had. Food was spicy, so kids had a bit of trouble initially but mango lassi solved that problem. note: put service as a 3 but it was really irrelevant since it was a buffet"

"It was our first time at Curry Mantra. We went based on Yelp reviews. Overall, we enjoyed it. But, my fish was very overcooked, and dry and burned in part of it. Also, it would be helpful if the menu was better at indicating what foods are spicy and what food are mild. The appetizer was too spicy for my husband. Other than that, the service was excellent -- prompt efficient & pleasant. The other food was very good."

"The food that we ordered was really bad I would say almost unpalatable. The tandoori wings were completely under done and was inedible. The Bengal fish was really horrid and was in no way close to the description mentioned on the menu. The shahi lamb had no flavor and tasted like something out of a ready to eat pouch. If these were chef specials then I shudder to think about the rest of the menu.
This may be acceptable to people who have never experienced good Indian cooking earlier.for the price I Paid it was a complet rip off"

"We were not interested in the buffet when we first arrived, but decided to give it a try. What a good buffet! There are many Indian restaurants that have buffet and some items are similar, but what sets Curry Mantra apart is its use of spices. Goat Curry with multiple levels of depth was full of meat without having to go through the whole container to get some! The other dishes were the same, multiple levels of depth and spiceness. Most restaurants in general don't use spices and certianly don't want to use hot spices, but Curry Mantra is not one of them. We will go back and eat items from the menu and will certainly be trying for some HOT and spicy dishes."

"As a resident of DC (northeast), the drive to Fairfax around rush hour means that the restaurant better be something special. In spite of the recommendations on-line, the food was mediocre. The decor, at first blush, was a bit gaudy (pinks and reds), with live sitar music in the background. Once accustomed, it was comfortable and not overpowering. The service was really helpful in getting us settled and our orders correct (some of the servers have limited and/or accented English). Parking in the strip mall was a plus. But the food needs to become more refined to merit a return visit."

"This place is a true gem! I know there is a variety of Indian restaurants in the Northern Virginia area but this place takes the cake. It's authentic and vibrant. Every dish is just popping with flavor. The service is attentive and courteous. All of their staff is smiling 100% of time and actually recognize me as a regular. My husband and I are both white, and we actually had this place cater our wedding!
I could not say enough great things about this place. If you go tell Asad I say hi!"
