"I expected more. Initially ordered fried catfish but returned it because it was under cooked. Ordered the short ribs of beef instead of another catfish. The meat was very dry and overlooked. My wife and I were very dissatisfied with our meals. We did enjoy the live music, the energetic scene and the attentiveness of the staff including the owner. Restaurant did not meet our expectations Not a great choice for food but would go for drinks and music."

"I have been to the establishment before and since I was at 200 Peachtree events center already, I decided to make a reservation to come visit your establishment. We came right in and were seated. The band was great! My only gripe, the food was subpar. The rosemary chicken was tough and cold, as were the tart greens, and after having dated an award winning chef, I would say that the food was probably a day or two old at best. I would suggest condensing the menu to items that will be popular staples and master those. The basket of bread should only include cornbread muffins, hot and fresh cornbread muffins at all times. The true epitome of a soul food juke joint is constant fresh, hot food."

"This was a last minute find on Open Table and what a delight. The band was perfect for the atmosphere and wasn't so loud you couldn't have a conversation at the table. Food was southern dynamite! Right down to the country peach cobbler! Highly recommend this place for a group to gather or just for a couple to have a nice night out with entertainment. We sat in the bar area and enjoyed watching everyone have a good time and enjoy the music. All around a perfect Atlanta hot spot. Definately going back when in Atlanta and already recommended it to other."

"When we arrived, the restaurant was full, with a few patrons waiting for tables. We had a reservation, and we were seated at our reservation time. Within two minutes, our server was at the table, less than three minutes later we had our drinks, and within 20 minutes of our arrival we had our dinner. The taste was outstanding, the presentation as outstanding, and Christopher, our server was attentive but not overbearing. The music was fantastic and you could still have a normal conversation at your table. Will definitely return!"

"I love the ambiance at the Juke Joint, it doesn't matter whether you go with a group or you're on your first date...it makes for a wonderful experience. I have to say that I prefer to go on nights when The Soul Cartel Band is playing...these guys are phenomenal! I honestly haven't found a dish that I like, the food has been "just ok" for the prices they charge but overall I still love this place!"

"I enjoyed Sweet Georgia's Juke Joint. The wings were so good that my boyfriend actually licked his fingers, something he rarely does. I enjoye the mashed potatoes and the spinach was seasoned just right. The atmosphere was conducive to not only dinner, but conversation over music. The band was great and they played appropriate music to set the mood for a wonderful evening. I'd been hearing a lot about this place and am glad that I finally went."

"The sides were terrible... Slimy greens, baked beans had no base to them, Mac was subpar. This restaurant was a bootleg Warmdaddy's (Philadelphia) to me. Music was ok, but a mandatory fee on a weeknight was a bit much. I will neither recommend nor return. What a disappointment."

"it was our first time there at your establishment. Kenny Banks the musician was wonderful and friendly! the drink in the mason jar(moonshine and fruit) was great! the turkey club sandwich was great. the baked beans with molasses had a after taste- I did not like them, the fried chicken was ok but have had better! :-) the steak fries were wonderful! the crawfish appetizer with the sauces were excellent! We will be back!"

"Great spot with a much-needed vibe in town. Service was great besides the fact that the hostess was missing, so we waited a while before we were even greeted by the wait staff. After that, all was well. The food is excellent and very well-seasoned and portions are generous. The band set the stage (literally) for a great Sunday brunch with my friends to celebrate my birthday. It was my second time there, but definitely won't be my last!"

"This place got 4 stars on Yelp, so I figured I'd give it a try. The food was fine, but nothing special. My appetizer came before my water or glass of wine I'd ordered. The server brought out the wrong main dish - I ordered shrimp and grits and this was shrimp and something else over rice. She fixed it. Overall, nothing special."

"I had read some reviews on this place that were less than stellar regarding the service and food, but I'm not picky and it looked like a neat place so we tried it out last night. Unfortunately, the bad reviews were spot on. I've never had worse service - VERY slow (25 min+ to even get drinks or water to the table), incredibly rude and inattentive, by the time they brought the sauce for my meal everyone was done eating, and the staff acts as though having you dine there is a total inconvenience. The food was overpriced and completely tasteless. I had short ribs (meaning, a huge solid chunk of bland tough meat) and no one else at the table enjoyed their meal either. The setting is nice, the music was good, the visit... was horrible."

"We sat in the bar area and it took over 30 minutes for someone to take our order. I ordered barbecue chicken which came with green beans and sweet potato souffle well the waiter brought my dish with mac and cheese instead of souffle. He told me that you were out of souffle and gave me mac and cheese instead. I stated how did you know I wanted mac and cheese and he said he didnt they just gave it to me but if I didnt want it then I can ask for something else. Wow was all I could say."

"The Sweet Georgia Juke Joint is fun and exciting "joint". We loved it. The Sunday brunch hour is a perfect time to go to visit downtown without the bustle of the work week throngs. I hope it maintains its excellent status for the food, entertainment, and ambiance."

"Ordered a $40 bottle Italian wine when we ordered our appetizer, even though we had already made dinner choices - we didn't want the food to come too fast. Well, the appetizers came (a tad cold, but nothing we complained about) and our waitress came and apologized that the wine I chose was no longer available, but assured us that her manager had a similar Italian wine that hadn't made it to the menu, yet, that he was going to bring out. He brought out a French wine that *was* on the menu ($60) and offered as the replacement w/out noting price difference. I recognized the wine, so avoided that price jump. Next bottle we ordered, same story. We were comped the appetizer and left. Advice: Order beer."

"Went for the live music, but was pleased to discover that the food and service were excellent as well! I understand the music varies greatly from night to night, but the stage, sound system and lighting are all top drawer - should make any good musician sound terrific. A great place for a nice dinner for two. Dave Scott is an extremely talented and polished multi-instrumentalist and vocal performer - highly recommended!"

"The food was mediocre. I ordered the shrimp and grits. The grits were lumpy and undercooked. The didh would have been amazing were it not for this flaw. My friend ordered the chicken and waffles. The waffle was delicious, but the chicken was a bit bland though fried to golden perfection. The service was excellent. I sent the grits back and the server brought me a waffle. The ambiance was nice with the music, however, they should get their chairs' apolstry cleaned because it brings down the quality of the restaurant. I would give it another try before I would recommend it to someone."
