"We were there for the Mother's Day lunch. We had reservations at 12:30. We arrived early but the restaurant was running 20 minutes behind. So even though we had reservations, we had to wait 25 minutes to be seated. I had the eggs benedict and it was mediocre. The "homemade" cheddar biscuit were so hard and dry I could not even cut through it with a knife. It was so bad I only ate half of it and mostly ate the eggs and ham. My mom got the blackened salmon salad, The salmon was flavorless. The food we liked were the Japanese clam chowder (could have been hotter) and the bread."

"I really liked the restaurant, the waitress was very friendly, but I had trouble to understand her, because it was very loud. maybe a result of setting up the tables too close together. Unfortunately she forgot our mimosas and the orange juice for my little daughter as well. There was a kid's menu , but it didn't have any sweet breakfast/brunch option in the main course, so we had to order a regular meal for her .
Overall it was a nice day with good food , for a good price-performance ratio- $37/adult .
( not so much scenic view because of the marine layer , but nice and warm !)
All the "Mom's" got a rose from the restaurant , I thought that this was a kind idea."

"I had the salmon, which is their signature dish and it was excellent - perfectly prepared. My husband ordered the sea bass with coconut-curry sauce and it too was superb with a nice level of spicy heat! It was a rainy Sunday night and not busy, but I imagine it could get noisy when there are more people. The location takes advantage of a beautiful view of the ocean with mostly outdoor seating but heated, so very comfortable. We will return!"

"We're semi-regulars at Pacifica Del Mar. The food has always been outstanding. We had one experience where the service was sub-par, but not this time. Anne was attentive and helpful, but not overbearing. Two of us had the salmon, which was excellent. One in our party had the catfish, the other had the swordfish; each was very pleased. We picked a good night: Thursday was half-priced wine by the bottle. There's a good range of wines and prices. We're big fans of Paso Robles...and the 2010 Justin cabernet would have been terrific at the restaurant's regular price, but at half price, it was even better. We still think it's one of the best restaurants in the San Diego area."

"Our dinner at Pacifica this time was very disappointing. We go often and find their food to be excellent. I always order my favorite thing: the sea bass.This time the fish was cooked a bit too well done and the things that came with it (sticky rice, coconut sauce, bok choy) were forgettable. My companion ordered the osso buco with pasta because he wasn't in a fish-mood. His dish was inedible: meat was tough, sauce was tasteless. So we didn't say anything about the food that night because our server was very good even though she was very rushed. I blame it on the kitchen. Maybe they have new cooks?? A happy hour bar with a restaurant attached? Not up to par. The restaurant suffers. We will go back, but they will only get one more chance."

"We lucked out and our reservation (via Open Table) got us a table for two on the edge outside. We watched the sun set behind the marine layer clouds, but it did not spoil the atmosphere. The wine list came on an i-pad, which made the choosing process more fun and more informed. Our waiter was excellent, stopping in when it was obviously time and staying back when not. The food was very good - in our case it was for an anniversary dinner, so the price that comes with the view wasn't a large concern - and the bread beforehad was great. All in all, a very nice restaurant."

"The service has always been very good to excellent. The food was also very good in the past. However, on this visit to the restaurant we had Calamari and a variant of Oysters Rockefeller for appetizers. The former was acceptable but tough the latter had a nice sauce but was otherwise forgettable. The main dishes were halibut and slow cooked Maine lobster. Again, there was little good to say about the dishes."

"Consistently good food, beautiful setting, professional service. At a table next to us, the people complained about the hamburgers being too peppery. The waitress immediately offered to take it off the bill and get them something else. When she left to let them look at the menu they kept eating their meal. During the several conversations the waitress had with them, she was very polite and did everything to accommodate them. It was most impressive. It seemed that if it was that bad they would have stopped eating."

"I was with my family to celebrate my nephew's graduation from MCRD that day. It was a joyous occasion and he was in uniform. When contemplating dessert, before we even had a chance to order, someone brought out three desserts. We told them we had not ordered any yet and it was explained that one of your frequent patrons saw us come in and wanted to treat us to three desserts!!! Scotty, our waiter also bought us a dessert! It was an act of genuine kindness and after the great food and wine and view, it was the perfect end to a perfect day and evening. We were all greatly touched by the very kind and generous gesture. It was truly a wonderful experience!"

"We have always had a great dining experience at Pacifica Del Mar. I had the grilled swordfish and it was wonderful! Four of us were celebrating a birthday and we all ordered something different. Each of us was extremely delighted with the food. In addition, we were pleasantly surprised to find that wine was half-priced on Thursdays. Our server was attentive and informative about the menu. My only regret was that the room was extremely noisy once filled with diners - so much so that we had difficulty conversing. The food was worth it however!"

"Had a wonderful dining experience! The server was friendly and prompt, the food was delicious!! I had the vegetarian ravioli (don't recall printed name) and my date had the swordfish which he loved. Portions were just right, not too large or too small. Add good food to a beautiful sunset and you get a very nice evening. The only thing I would say could be better is that the dining room seemed crowded and a little noisy. The tables seemed closer together than I was really comfortable with. I could easily hear other conversations which I would prefer not to do so that I can focus more on the one I am having w/my date. But overall I highly recommend this restaurant."

"Arriving early for our reservations we had drinks at the bar which the bartender made more enjoyable. On time we were taken to our table out on the patio with a view of the setting sun. We split appetizers of crab cakes and oysters on the half shell, both of which were excellent. The dozen oysters were three different types ranging from British Columbia to Baja which made them much more interesting. After two delicious salads we enjoyed our entree of seared rare ahi. The staff was attentive, friendly, but not obtrusive. A very enjoyable dining experience."

"Had a wonderful experience here. Easter brunch so the wait staff was extremely busy. I'm sure they did the best they could which was fine considering how crowded it was. They have now put a very nice awning over the patio with a beautiful ocean view and it's quite comfortable on sunny days. Really love this restaurant."

"My wife and I scheduled a dinner there for our 27th anniversary, but were forced to reschedule to a lunch due to an emergency. When we arrived we were seated at a table overlooking Del Mar and the ocean. I couldn't have asked for more. The food was exceptional and our service was constant but not interupting. The brunch menu was surprisingly well priced. We found that they also have a specially priced "Sunset" menu that my wife and I will be sampling soon with the beautiful Del Mar sunset."

"We went to Pacifica to enjoy oceanviews and a beautiful sunset. The views were beautiful. I ordered the mahi mahi which was wonderful. My husband and daughter ordered steaks medium which were undercooked and our server never came back to inquire about the food. In addition I had also told the server I wanted a glass of wine with dinner and he never brought the wine. The bus staff kept our glasses filled with water and our food was brought to the table warm by a food runner. In summary come here for the views and seafood but prepared for inadequate service."

"Our first time. Got there at a time, before Sunset, when the sun was directly on our faces. There was no way of getting away from it but to move to another table which only slightly helped.
