"My first visit here, there were a couple of so-so dishes. This time, all our dishes were good. I had the zucchini tacos (special) and my companion had the pad thai. We shared a raw mushroom soup, which is actually warm (about 100 degrees) and very tasty, considering there is no cream. Service is solid, but with long gaps... The restaurant gets busy, and attention seems to go to larger groups, which is fine, but can leave you feeling abandoned. Overall, a decent, casual experience if you aren't in a rush.
(I find it interesting that the food prep takes as long if not longer as it does in a restaurant where the food is fully cooked. Would love to tour the kitchen some day...)"

"Went there with 6 for a late lunch.
What a suprise: you would not expect such excellent quality from the outside ! Were very much welcomed, very friendly, accurate and attentive service. No sucking up, genious friendlyness. Food was excellent, very healthy, all organic/vegan, amazing creativity in the kitchen. We had all different choices, sharing some starters. 4 of us are definitely not vegan but each dish was delicious and everybody enjoyed the food.
Price was acceptable and worth every penny."

"This place had the MOST delicious vegan food I have ever tasted and it actually looked as good too! It was a little small, but I do believe they are just getting started out in LA, so I personally cannot wait till they spread down to San Diego and open one there. The service there was great and everyone was so friendly! The chefs there know what they are doing and I wish I could cook like that for myself. I would definitely eat here everyday if I lived in LA and would recommend it to those who aren't vegan as well, since I took my finace who isn't vegan in there to eat and he loved it as well."

"I went with two companions. My meal was the best in the bunch (curried roasted veggies & raw mushroom soup). The other meals (roasted cauliflower soup, kelp salad, caesar salad) were passable, but nothing special. The appetizer (mezze plate) was tasty, but unremarkable. (I'm not a chef, but my beet salad blows Sun Cafe's away. Hint: Add some grated carrots to the beets.) The chocolate chip cookie for dessert was grainy and bland.
At the price ($65 + tip), with no drinks, this was not a very satisfying experience. The noise level is numbing.
I'd consider returning to Sun Cafe, because nothing was bad, but nothing was great either. The service was decent, but slow. Our waitress was sweet."

"Sun Café is a wonderful Raw food eatery. We've been here a couple of times, never for dinner, so this was a rare treat indeed. Sun Café never disappoints, so long as one understands the menu. Everything is fresh, healthy, and Vegan. My daughter and I love this place. Even my husband, not even a vegetarian finds the food satisfying and filling. It's nice not to have to go over the hill into LA to eat the way we choose.If you are open to trying new experiences, Sun Café is the place for you!"

"I am not Vegetarian or Vegan, but my wife is and I have been here a number of times. Every meal here has been fantastic and we just recently celebrated Valentine's Day dinner there. They had a set menu and the combination was just phenomenal.
When we went there in the past I have had the burger and the nachos which was great and we split it between 4-6 people. Every meal I have had here has been great and I highly recommend opening your mind and going for a meal.
It will be good, I promise."

"We enjoyed SunCafe's six-course, ten-item Valentine's Day dinner, which gave a choice of a raw or cooked menu. Every dish and drink was delicious, and by the time we finished the dessert we were very satisfied and happy. The service was especially efficient, with no lag time between courses. I was very impressed with how efficiently they were able to accommodate a packed dining room."

"The food was delicious! Cream of mushroom soup and garlic bread were a great combination and the taste was exquisite. We enjoyed everything we ordered, which included a spinach salad, guacamole lettuce tacos, and a portobello mushroom sandwich. SunCafe offered the best tasting vegan food made and served in a restaurant I have ever had, and the ambience was relaxed and nice, without being too casual. We enjoyed it!"
