"The Hostess was very friendly and helpful. The food was good. The services was lacking, it was really slow. Water was not refilled. tea was spilled. Not enough hot water."

"The buffet was one of the best I have ever experienced albeit a bit pricey. The seafood included lobster which was delicious and giant prawns. Lots of salads and antipasto to choose from. Unfortunately I am gluten and dairy free so was not able to indulge in the desserts but my companions raved about them. The restaurant was very busy and we were seated next to a large noisy crowd but since we were late for our reservation were lucky to get a table. Overall a good experience especially for groups. Not a venue for an intimate dinner"

"Had a very tasty sirloin sandwich and the strawberry spinach salad was delicious. The service was great. Our server was not only very personable, but he was efficient and had a sense of humour. The person who delivered the dishes to the table was also very nice. Our table was in the windowed porch area...very bright. Overall excellent experience."

"I would not recommend this restaurant. While the food was good - it was not priced accordingly. The menu is pricey but the whole experience did not add up to the quality and service received. We had a voucher, which seemed that most diners did - they added the grautity automatically - and for what we received I would not have rewarded our waiter with the 20% gratuity which was added on. Diners beware!"

"The Doctor's House is a culinary landmark just north of Toronto, in the quaint town of Kleinburg. While we had heard of it and its reputation, we had not previously eaten there. We chose it for a special birthday celebration, and were not disappointed. The room, while large, has lovely period accents, and the noise level was low enough that there was no need to strain the vocal chords to converse. It felt quite private.
The meal itself was truly memorable, beautifully cooked by their Italian chef. Service was friendly and competent, the only quibble being that our water glasses were not kept filled. Excellent wine list, including some really pricey vintages, but with an excellent, reasonable cost house wine. All in all a great experience."

"My companion's plates (rib eye sandwich and pasta al mare) were lovely and generous (a bit overcooked) and probably it should have been asked how one liked one's steak (and seafood for that matter) cooked. My frittata was small, skimpy on the vegetables, and quite overcooked. A vegetable omelette would have turned out better. Hence food here can be spotty. Ambiance and attentiveness of the service were good. Chardonnay was described as "sweet" when really it was fruity and dry and not as acidic as many, but they are open about tasting so one can make up one's own mind. An okay restaurant. A bit on the pricey side in regard to what the food is. The restaurant was quiet this lunch; I would bet not so when a wedding is going on there."

"My husband and I had dinner at The Doctor's House on Saturday May 4th. Throughout the evening and the course of our dinner our server was attentive while not being over bearing- neither did he leave us wondering if we'd ever see him again - there is a fine line, and he was impeccable in his delivery, attitude and conversation. The dinner itself was delicious. From the appetizer to the dessert and even the choice of wine. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience and would suggest a visit there to whoever is looking for a lovely atmosphere and a very lovely dinner. It was a bit more then what we usually pay ($200.00) but it was a special occasion for us and when the evening was complete- we felt that it was well worth the price."

"I'm recommending it for special occasions only, because that's what it seems to cater to. There was a large confirmation party & graduation party the night we were there (Sat. night). Fortunately, there were no weddings scheduled. We had gone to celebrate a special birthday and it was too noisy to really enjoy ourselves. The wait & kitchen staff were not ready to deal with big crowds. The wait staff seemed to be running around like chickens with their heads cut off and the kitchen took forever to prepare our meals. We finally got our appetizer about an hour after we sat down. Our medium-rare beef tenderloin and rack of lamb both arrived medium to well done. The saving grace was dessert, tiramisu & creme brulee. Both were excellent."

"Potatoes were not very warm - my lamb was cooked perfectly but I didn't really like the flavor of the "crust" There may have been parm. cheese in there and it made the lamb taste strange.
The staff were very friendly and attentive.
The braised rib special my sweetie had was wonderful - tender and flavourful.
Cheesecake was one of the best I have ever tasted."

"attended the sunday brunch, when I called for reservations I was told the only table for 4 available was at 1:30. I was concerned that this may have been too late since the brunch only went to 3:30 and was assured that the brunch was totally replenished for the duration of the brunch. However this was not the case, practically all of the hot dishes...pasta, meat and fish were not replenished after 2:00, as a result the only items left were picked over or completely finished. This was also the case for the antipasto and dessert. Overall good food but would suggest not to go anytime after 12:00 unless you are a really fast eater!"

"I would recommend the Doctor's House for Sunday Brunch. While the cost initially seems pricey $45/adult - higher for special occasions i.e. Mother's Day, the quality and variety of food is excellent. This is not a buffet filled with the "same old, same old". Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. I am already making plans to go back for brunch again.
There were four people in my party and every single person raved about the buffet."

"Food was very good. Restaurant did not have enough wait staff but i had a coupon so didn't mind lack of service as much since I wasn't pay full price. Hostess was very pleasant and the attention given by her somewhat made up for the lack of servers."

"I went as a post-birthday dinner with my husband. I didn't expect much as we were using a coupon. The food was exceptional in all 3 courses, we enjoyed the antipasto very much. It's worthwhile even if it's for the full price. Service was good, although sometimes it's hard to get the attention of the wait staff. Compare to a lot of downtown venues, the restaurant is so spacey and comfortable, with very nice ambiance. I would definitely go again!"

"Excellent service from the time you walk in until you leave. Food ranged from good to excellent. Appetizers were well thought out and executed, Entrees suffered slightly due to poor quality control of ingredients but not enough to ruin the evening. Desserts are simple, but done with care. Overall a great experience, perhaps it was just a bad night for veal."

"Although restaruarnt seemed busy, not sufficient wait staff. Service was mediocre at best. Waited at least 10 minutes for a glass of water at the beginning of the experience. Server placed blame on assistant for messing up a few items such as wrong coffee order, no utensils on the table when dessert was served."

"We were looking forward to spending a wonderful evening celebrating our anniversary. We had requested a table close to the window or fireplace. Our request was ignored. We were seated and after at least 10 minutes of waiting, we had to ask the busperson to locate our waiter. This continued for most of the evening. There was a mistake with my main course which had to be completely recooked so my husband and I ate our meals at separate times. There was no concession re the error. At one point I looked up to see all 3 waiters in a very heated discussion by the wine area. Over all, food was adequate, service awful and unprofessional."
