"This venerable Florida tradition features a broiled grapefruit/chicken liver appetizer - sublime! The Romaine soup provides an unique flavor that I suspect is universally enjoyed. Coupled with an atmosphere of history and antiques (and a piano player who is as smooth as I've ever heard), the experience will sure to be repeated."

"Extensive wine list but beer availability was paltry beyond the ususal suspects. Restaurant has a specialized 5 course meal or diner can order ale carte which we did. Even ale carte, portions were much too large for a multi-course meal. That is until we got to the ordered dessert which the restaurant failed to have on hand."

"Our server Michelle was friendly and knowledgable about the food. The crab cakes were the best I've ever eaten! I tried my husband's maple duck salad and it was scrumptious! My Orange Duck entree was FABULOUS!"

"Having heard about this place for many years, we finally had the opportunity to experience it for ourselves. There was definitely an "old Florida" feel with a bit of whimsy. We were seated in a circular dining room with a great view of a tranquil pond reflecting a brilliant sunset. The food was delicious and the servers were very friendly. It was a distinctly different and pleasant memory."

"Our favorite quiet getaway. Chalet Suzanne has endured storms and financial downturns, and the service and food remain superb. We wish the very best for the Hinshaw family, and look forward to returning again soon."

"More of a tourist attraction that a place for food. Situated on a drying up lake overlooking the backs of tract housing it was best to look only inside at the antiques and old wood. Food we had was uninspired. friendly waitstaff ."

"31 years later we were happy to discover that our special gourmet dining experience had not changed. Hidden in the foot hills south of Orlando it offers a relaxed fine dining experience that will keep you coming back."

"We had a great quite time at the inn, first the Inn, they gave us an upgrade room because the one that we reserved had some maintenance issues, the room was large the bed very comfortable but the a/c was very noise would not stop, needs to be replace is just too old. The whole grounds of the Inn is in crying help for repairs and a lot of upkeep
The restaurant was the best part of the time that we were there, the food, we had breakfast and dinner, was outstanding, very impressed, the night that we had dinner our server Debby was fantastic, the decor, the ambiance, the soft music in the background and the service was A+++, we felt that we were back in time in Downton Abbey, it was a very romantic expirience for us."

"I have been several times to Chalet Suzanne and have enjoyed it each time. It was one of my husband and my favorite special occasion spots, including staying at the inn. Love the breakfast. What a treat. Good coffee. Pancakes awesome."

"We could hear conversations of tables on the other side of the room due to acoustics in the round room, but it was all fun and the food was very good. Our waitress was attentive and nice -- when she was actually in the room. She was mostly in another room, so when we did see her it was occasional. The owners were very friendly. We sat down at 6:30 and left close to 9:30, so it was a long dinner and we were an hour away from our hotel. There was lots of time between courses. The food was yummy, but I was disappointed by the pot de creme, which was heavy on what I guessed was brandy, yet the menu had no mention of alcohol in the dessert, and the server was even surprised and unaware when I mentioned it. My boyfriend enjoyed it however."

"We had not been to Chalet Suzanne for many years, and recalled our early experiences there as very pleasurable. We found the restaurant (and Inn) just as charming as ever, and ordered the broiled grapefruit topped with a chicken liver. Just as good as we remembered. The three of us shared two other items - crab cakes and a fritatta - which were OK, but not great. My daughter, who enjoys beer, did not find one to her liking from the short selection. The setting was marvelous, overlooking the large pond with multiple turtles to entrtain us. The table was lovely, as we remembered, and the young servers were excellent. One girl had been there for many years. The bill was substantial, which we expected- $80 including gratuity."

"Chalet Suzanne has been around for a very long time and nothing seems to change. Of course, why mess with success.
The food was all very good, the service friendly, and the setting charming. Nothing, however, was very exciting or new. Some change-up here and there would be nice.
The worst thing was the pianist. While obviously talented, he played everything like a dirge. Each song was like marching through mud. I guess if that’s the worst thing I can say, it’s pretty good overall."

"Make no mistake, this is not a "cutting edge" restaurant BUT it's perfectly charming. It IS expensive considering we're in Central Florida, I think, but the food was very good. It's the kind of place you'd take your mother on her birthday, which is pretty much what I did. A little stodgy but pretty and great servers who've been there for ages."

"Chalet Suzanne is a classic. The interior is authentic, quirky and full of character. The staff are attentive and have pride in what they do. The food is good old fashioned classic cooking. Great for couples or friends. The location is quite far out from Orlando but its worth the travel. They have bedrooms and a pool, would be a romantic getaway for a couple. Highly recommend it."

"I was to Chalet Suzanne many years ago and never forgot the restaurant or the food. I was delighted to rediscover this memorable restaurant and found it was just as good as, if not better than, I remembered. That in itself is rare. The ambience, the view, and the food are all spectacular."

"Great getaway when combined with BOK Tower visit, perhaps moonlight concert. Appetites are satisfied with the delicious Romaine Soup, and entres. I combined our visit with Golf at Oakwood and massages afterwards at the Chalet Suzanne."

"I've lived in Orlando for over 40 years and heard of Chalet Suzanne's history, reputation and food legacies for as long as I can remember. I always wanted to eat there but never made the trek down from Orlando to Lake Wales just to eat. This past Saturday was my very first visit. Sadly, I have to say that my friends and I were very disappointed with the entire experience. The menu was exceedingly limited and far too expensive for the quality of the food. The service was slow and unorganized. And though I'm glad I finally had the opportunity to eat at the Chalet, I will not be back nor will I recommend it to family and friends. All I can think about is having my $140.00 back. To my misfortune and dismay, it was not money well spent."

"I was very disappointed. The food was good but my wife's Black Angus Filet was on the dry side. The pictures at your web site are colorful and inviting but in reality the restaurant lacked color and was dim. The so called antiques were in need of cleaning and dusting. We waited a very long time for our drinks to arrive. Over looking an over sized pond with a subdivision on the opposite shore is not my idea of a scenic view. I don't mind paying high prices for good food and atmosphere but in this case I certainly did not get what I paid for."

"The Bison was very tender, the Sea bas was on the salty side. As for the lobster bisque it was veey good and had small tender bits of lobster in it. Over all pretty good."

"I really enjoyed this place where I went with my wife for our latest wedding anniversary. It was all that I expected, and perhaps more.
I was somewhat worried after reading a recent negative review but, giving that reviewer the benefit of the doubt all I can say is: they listened to you and fixed it."
