Franco and Noe Landini are the proud hosts of Landini Brothers restaurant. Located in the heart of Old Town Alexandria, and close to the Potomac River, Landini Brothers is a well-established landmark in Northern Virginia. It has been serving northern Italian food in the traditional Tuscan style since it opened in 1976. Franco's annual visits to his family and friends in Tuscany provide him with ample opportunity to learn about the latest advances in Tuscan cuisine—knowledge he brings home for the dining pleasure of restaurant guests. "I was expecting more of everything. The food was ok but not standout. The tuna tartare was thrown on a plate with no regard to presentation. The service was slow at best. This restaurant caters to tourists and that usually means nothing excellent will come out of it."

"We had a large party for Mother's day. When we arrived our table was ready as promised and we were escorted upstairs. The quarters were a bit tight (tables are close together), but otherwise very accommodating. Full menu was offered along with quite a few specials. Food was excellent and service was outstanding- helpful but not intrusive. All in all, a very nice experience. Twenty percent tip was added automatically to our bill, so pay attention to your receipt."

"Service was top notch, of that there is no question.
Went for Mother's Day Brunch. On the website it says 'Come for Brunch, Lunch or Dinner....' To me, on a holiday, it means they have an actual Brunch. We had a noon reservation. No brunch menu, and had to ask if there was one, then the waiter, well prepared told us of roughly 7 or 8 specials. All oral, none on menu, none written down. It was a wild guess as to what to order or what to have. Sadly, as we not only love Old Town, we won't be back. I have lived in the area all of my 50 plus years, have been in Old Town off an on since I was 6, taking the old AB&W bus to my Dad's store - so one thing I do know is Old Town - there are too many other places vying for my earnings and time."

"Parking was an issue, although the atmosphere and food were one of a kind. The stone walls and dim lighting added to the ambiance. Great Linguine and Clams - white sauce was nice and light - not creamy. The Linguine was the special and it was delectable - layered flavors and texture. Cannoli and cappuccino was to die for! A must to top off the fine dining experience."

"I have enjoyed Landini Brothers several times in the past and have always loved the menu choices and ambiance. However, my last 2 meals have left me very disappointed. The service has just been terrible. The server seemed clueless. Last week I took a friend there for her birthday and she really wanted a steak. She tried to order the steak without the garlic butter on it and the server said they could not do it. How is that possible on a $33 steak?! I asked for a side of pasta instead of potato and he acted like it was impossible and brought the manager over to tell me that there would be an upcharge. The server was not attentive at all. I noted a birthday in the reservation and they did nothing."

"Well, this was interesting for me, because it was my first time back to Landini Brothers in 19 years! My now ex-husband and I first went to dinner there on a vacation long ago, and our meal was so wonderful we went back again the very next night and had exactly the same meal, lol. So, now that my daughter has moved to DC, I wanted to go back and see if it was still great - and it was. We actually went for lunch. I had the same cream of asparagus soup I remembered so well to start with, as well as the duck pate' which was delicious. Our chicken and veal entrees were excellent. I give the desserts a B - certainly not bad, but not memorable, either. And I just love the restaurant itself - the stone and wood - very romantic..."

"Very busy at Landini's. So busy, it looked like the Host was doing multiple jobs (checking in, setting up tables, taking orders). So busy our waiter seemed like he was rushing thru our service. He didn't show us a wine list, didn't give a list of specials, etc etc. The wait for the food was approximately 20 minutes plus. All that being said, when the food arrived it was PHENOMENAL! Veal cooked to perfection. Potatoes roasted to perfection. Prime rib of great quality, seasoned and cooked to perfection. Almost made us forget about the so so service. I would recommend Landini's solely off the quality food, and beautiful ambiance."

"We started with Caesar salad which had no croutons on it and was not presented in any special way (lettuce in dressing on a flat plate - that's it). Served in a bowl would have made it a bit more appetizing. I ordered the shrimp salad in avocado appetizer. The shrimp salad was swimming in two pools of dressing. I had to scrap most of it off. My mother ordered the grilled vegetable dish which was pretty but again the presentation wasn't anything special, just a bunch of grilled veggies placed on a plate. My niece had the ravioli which she really liked, but again it was soaked in cream sauce. Overall the food was tasty, but the presentation was lacking."

"There were three of us for brunch on Easter Sunday. One of the meals was not ready when the first two were brought out so the other two were taken back until all three could be served at the same time. This, I think, caused a problem with the mushroom omlete, which was dry and hard, not fluffy as it should be. After a complaint was made, it was taken off the bill. Although the setting is very interesting, I would not recommend this place for Sunday brunch."

"I have been going to Landini's for a while now and what is most impressive based on the volume that they do is the consistent service they have with staff as well as consistency of their food. Veal, steak, seafood, pasta are all of the best I have ever had and I do travel quite frequently.
The "specials" list is always fun because they have alot of specials but even those are of top-notch quality and consistency.
They really never disappoint."

"I had'd been to Landini Brothers in years and we are so glad we made a reservation there for Saturday night. (fyi they now have valet parking friday and saturday evenies). We were sat at at perfect table next to a window. Food at Landini was great! The only drawback was a dessert which really wasn't as described, but it was removed from the check. Our salads/soups were great--very fresh. But, it was our entrees that impressed our table of four the most. Our new go-to Italian restaurant."

"Tihis is our whole family's favorite Italian restaurant in Washington! We just celebrated a 15th birthday there, and it was just wonderful! The kids loved it; the adults thought it was great! The food is delicious, and the choices are all you want or dream about for an Italian meal. There is nothing negative I can say. We had and loved the fettuccine Alfredo, the pasta romana, linguine with white clam sauce, and a grilled veal chop--among other choices. It was terrific!"

"For anyone who enjoys Oysters Rockefeller, Landini's makes the best! - a perfect appetizer! For my entree, I ordered one of the many attractive specials offered for that evening. The Tasmanian Salmon was grilled to perfection and very tasty. The sides were green beans and fingerling potatoes. Landini's has a diverse menu so you are sure to find a dish to please your palette. The entire meal, ambiance and service was great. If you don't make reservations for a weekend or holiday, forget about it. People are frequently turned down for not having reservations."
