"Cafe Sebastienne hit it out of the ball park again! Soooo tasty. Excellent service. Awesome artistic vibes. Really good coffee. We'll be back for brunch again and again.."

"The food was delicious - French Toast was the best I've ever had in a restaurant, and crab cakes were heavenly. The manager came to the table and spoke to us, which made us feel welcome. She was delightful as well as our server, who was attentive, very friendly and smiled all the time. We live 200 miles away, but we definitely will come back next time we are visiting Kansas City."

"The food is innovative and flavorful - some of the best in town. The atmosphere is still a little unsatisfying; the inside is dominated by way too many (loud) distracting copies of notable paintings. The courtyard has a cold feel (no sound absorbing surfaces) and can be noisy if only partially full. The service can be good but sometimes it is a little slow and distracted. The wine list is small but well chosen -- someone really knows what they are doing! Did I mention how good the food is??"

"A perennial favorite of ours but only open Friday and Saturday nights for dinner. Maybe that is what makes Cafe Sebastienne so special. It's fun to stroll around the exhibits and visit the gift shop too."

"I've had many enjoyable meals here, but Easter brunch was not one of them. The restaurant was over crowded and the kitchen and staff were unprepared. They ran out of several items by our 1:30 reservation (understandable) but they just brought out a completely different substitution than we ordered! Our service also took close to 2 hours, not that we were in a hurry, but we felt neglected, not relaxed."

"The soup of the day, creamy brussel sprout, was exceptional. The salmon entree was very good. The only thing I don't like about this restaurant is the artwork covering the walls. It is garish, disconcerting, and crude interpretations. It does not provide for a relaxing dining experience. The installation on the wall in the "courtyard" is much more pleasing."

"My friend and i had lunch here. She was visiting from out of town. We had a delightful meal. She had one of the lunch specials, which was crab cakes and i had the ruby trout from the menu. Both were delicious. The list of wines by the glass had some very pleasant surprises on it and we each enjoyed a glass with lunch. Service started out a little uneven but got a lot better and lunch was very enjoyable. the surroundings are beautiful. we ate in the restaurant, as i think the atrium can get a little noisy. this is a great place to take visitors. i enjoy eating lunch here, it just feels special."

"The food here is outstanding, and it's a bonus that it's inside the Kemper Museum. The atmosphere is fun and relaxed, with large windows and tons of art. The servers all know their stuff, and everything on the menu is deligthful. The brunch is great - easily one of the best in the city."

"Love the venue, the menu, and the quality of the food. Felt a bit "pestered" by our waitress after we were finished and were just chatting. Also, I chose "energetic" for the noise level because you didn't offer "too noisy." When one has to raise one's voice to be heard by those at your table, it's a minus for us."

"my brothers were in from maine and st. louis so my sister and i chose to take them to a place they had not been. charles was most accommodating making the evening most pleasant. the dinners were yummy and we somehow managed to squeeze in the bread pudding and the apple crisp. all most sumptuous."

"It was a busy Friday night so service was a bit slower than usual. The menu offerings were unusual, and everyone at our table enjoyed their dinners. The interior walls of Cafe Sebastienne always provide an interesting topic of conversation, and the noise level was low enough that we could all hear each other talk."

"We dined here for a business lunch. The food was exceptionally good and the atmosphere very conducive to a quiet, pleasant meeting. Afterwards, it was an added treat to tour the art museum. We would highly recommend Cafe Sebastienne as a perfect mid-day retreat for a couple of hours."

"Older crowd. Waitress did not explain anything to us. She did not talk about the menu, she had no idea what the veggie of the day was. Everyone sitting in the restaurant seemed to be regulars who knew the menu..plus they were about 70 yrs old. Food was pretty good, quite rich. I would not go back."

"What a surprising delight! Sit inside--as opposed to the atrium--if you are given the choice. You'll see why when you get there. A space for art lovers. The food was very tasty--although somewhat pricey--and filling. For light eaters, split an entry. Our server was friendly and very professional. Entry into the museum is free so enjoy the gallery before or after dining."

"At last a lovely outdoorsy sitting area that is heated and filled with natural light and works of art, where you can eat gourmet delights and still be able to have a conversation! The choices for brunch were wonderful...loved the shrimp and lobster omelet...yummy! And the meringue and amaretto cherry dessert was amazing. Would definitely come again."

"We all shared the Rest. Week selections. Peanut-tomato soup so interesting & delicious. The rib with polenta is to die for; rich chocolate flour-less whipped cream - to top it all off. One word about our server - Leone - very attentive without being annoying - if I could I'd give her a gold star. It's so rare that server's get any credit - she's one that deserves a pat on the back (or better - some kind of reward from the cafe). We all will be back. I love the cafe!"

"This is a delightful place for lunch or dinner. Since its in an art gallery, there is so much to see. The service was fantastic and it was nice to be able to have a conversation without needing to yell. We will definitely go back! I think this will be a good outing for my 99 yr old friend. We can have a nice lunch then visit the museum."
