Pizzeria Villagio
The idea of Villagio comes from a marriage between time and place; the old neighborhoods of New York City and the abundant plains of California. What California brings to the table figuratively and literally, is its abundance of fresh produce, fresh starts, and the opportunity to reinvent. And so it was with these two places and time in mind that we set out to build a restaurant that would meld the two.

"We went for restaurant week thinking it would be a good time to try it. Three courses for $26, not a bad deal. We wasted our money. We live in the desert. You would expect a restaurant to have good water because we drink a lot of it out here. The restaurant served unfiltered tap water. Gross to say the least. My husband ordered the traditional lasagna which was to have meat/sausage in it. He took four bites and realized that he must have been given the eggplant lasagna. Waiter said "sorry, I must have pushed the wrong button". For some reason our desert was served in "to go" boxes. I guess that made for fewer dishes to wash.

"I have been here several times and recommended to several friends. The first was the best, but the last few times the food has been worse. This visit the service was terrible combined with a waitress who copped an attutude rather than trying to be helpful. I won't return or refer."

"This isn't a "red checkered table cloth" Italian place. They have some interesting twists on Italian favorites. We really enjoyed our meal and would return. Only suggestion would be a more extensive/better wine list."

"When restaurant was new food was really good. Now not only is it poor quality the prices went up as well , probably to cover cost of expansion. I thought it was awful and would not return. Another thing which has always been a problem there when you arrive and ask for bread it takes an act of g-d to get it! Then if you get it it tastes like over microwaved hard nuggets."

"we decided to try a different salad .. with gorgonzola cheese. The salad was very good, BUT we sure didn't see much of (or taste any) gorgonzola cheese. We also tried a different pizza. I think it was called a "New Yorker" and had artichoke hearts and portobella mushrooms on it. It was quite tasty. Our server was very pleasant. We will for sure go back. We made our res on Open Table, we were greeted at door and mentioned our O/T res, When we got home, the phone was ringing, it was Villagio asking if we were going to honor the res .. I answered & said we were just there, gave our name again, gal said, "Oh I got it, thanks." Next day, we get an e/mail from O/T asking about our "no show" .. it all got resolved, but it was a weird glitch."

"We were 4 people for dinner and everyone was not served hot (barely warm). They were served too soon since we were still on our soup/starter course. They removed them but evidently didn't keep them warm, just brought them out again. The person that had fish sent hers back to be warmed but to send all 4 back (3 with pasta and main dish) was becoming too much. So we just ate it. Not good to bring out food that has just been sitting in the kitchen getting cold, I had recommended this restaurant to our friends and although the food was good it lacked something because nothing was hot. Attention to when diners are ready for the next course needed to be noted."

"Was there at Happy Hour. We ordered a couple 10" Pizza's plus a two Cesar Salads. Food was excellent, however the House Chardonnay (well-known Australian Brand) was brownish yellow and tasted old. I am not a wine snob, but I do know the wine business. The server took them back and brought us the House Pinot Grigio (Italy). A much better choice. Otherwise it's the best family Italian restaurant in the area."

"The pizza crust was too hard on bottom to cut and gummy on top. My cheese tasted like the powered kind you find in a kids' Mac and Cheese box. My husband's "meat lovers" pizza had several tasteless selections of deli-type meats. House wine, red and white, wasbelow average for this type of restaurant. The red was close to grape juice in flavor. The pasta selections were mainly without meat except meatballs that had no flavor. We live close and were looking for an alternative to Applebees when we want a quick, local bite. Applebees is many times better. If this is an Italian restaurant, we sincerely doubt that anyone in the kitchen has ever tasted real Italian food !! The waiter was very brusque and unfriendly, almost angry ?"

"Service was average at best...it was so noisy we could hardly hear ourselves talk..my veggie lasagna was fine, the other 2 diners ordered the Sinatra steak, both had to send it back as one was almost raw and the other was just not done enough...it took the waiter about 10-15 minutes just to get 1 drink from the other bar...if you want pizza after a round of golf I think it would be fine, but if you want to go out for a nice dinner there are better choices...sorry, we were hoping for a better experience."

"Our salad had processed bacon bits from a jar that they charge 13 plus dollars for our pizza when I asked about salt/ sausage they said it was very lean it was so salty that I want peace and stability $85 for two people two glasses of wine and two beers besides our salad and our pizza I would never recommend you ever it was the worst pizza I would rather have dominos at this point and I will shelter to the rooftops I am horrified that you guys would ever get it I best pizza 2012 2013!!!!!they said I needed reservations are you kidding me oh believe me we did not really need reservations."

"We've had dinner here before months ago and loved the expirience. "We had a booth right up front behind main desk. Bad location. First people on the other side of us sitting down we could see them and them us. There should be frosted glass, so we cannot see them and they cannot see us. Secondly, people waiting for a table were right on top of us. It was hard to keep our conversation private, not to mention keep our food from others looking at us right in our face. And lastly the noise level was up so much. We love eating there and the food and service is usually very good. But we waited 10 minutes before our waiter came over to us to take our drink order. Too long, we only stayed because of previous great food and great service."

"My caesar salad was the best I've had recently. My personal pizza was OK -- Papa Dan's is better. My wife loved her Calamari salad, noting the calamari seemed to have been steamed. While she liked their lack of breading, they seemed under-seasoned. Nice wine list, with Chardonnay only available at about 40 degrees, way too chilled for wine."
