Dear tomato lovers, The front porch is offering a late harvest heirloom tomato prix fixe menu til the end of October. It's a delicious 4 coarse menu for $36 bucks you also have the option to add 4 glasses of wine to pair with it for $13 more. See you there! Don't forget to grab a drink at Front porch's cozy new living room across the street called Rock bar. (It's the bar covered in rocks) Hee Haw
"I lived in the South for two years and The Front Porch's fried chicken was the best I've had. Add in the spectacular fried okra with jalapeño aioli and bourbon cocktails that really hit the spot and you've got a delicious dinner in an intimate location with great character in its decor. The staff was knowledgeable, helpful and friendly and the prices are great. Try the bread puddin' for dessert or just come in for a great Southern-inspired drink at the bar. This place epitomizes a sign they have on the wall: Be nice or get out."

"Awesome restaurant, cute location with a lot of personality. It was chilly when I ate there, but it looked like they had great outdoor seating and would have loved to take advantage of that on a warm, sunny day. Since moving to California I've missed my fried okra terribly, and was pleased to be reunited with it at long last. I got the flounder as my main dish WHICH. WAS. AMAZING. We didn't stay for dessert, it looked good but we were feelin' ice cream and instead went to Mitchell's which is literally right around the corner."

"Love the atmosphere here - bustling and vibrant in what looks like an old speakeasy. Food is fresh and tasty, though definitely for the heartier appetite. Friendly service if a bit absent-minded at times. Service slower/forgetful outside than in. Bartenders nice and talented mixologists. Fun to eat at the bar."

"WE went here as a recommendation from a friend in Bernal and we are thrilled we did. I highly recommend the étouffée fries, fried chicken and the peanut butter pie. Made a resie for another night before we even left the restaurant!"

"I have been to the Front Porch twice before, and this time was just as good as the first two. In celebration of my boyfriend's birthday, we wanted to find a quiet but interesting restaurant with great food and good service. We found all of the above at the Front Porch. It was a Monday night, so although it wasn't at all empty, it was quiet and I loved that. The servers were very attentive and the manager came out to ask us about our food, which was super delicious and fresh tasting. At the end of the night, it started to get late, but we never felt rushed to leave, which I've encountered before at small restaurants. It was a perfect, intimate dining experience and we had plenty to take home."

"The most amazing meal I've had in a long, long time. A Whistling Pig rye whisky old fashioned started the meal and was, without reservation, the best of that cocktail I've had at a restaurant. The bacon wrapped dates appetizer where utterly sublime. My colleague had the crab and grits and it was awesome. I selected the Dr. Pepper braised short ribs, and they where beyond reproach. The Butterscotch Puddin' that ended the meal simply capped one of the fines gastronomic dalliances I've enjoyed in many a month. I couldn't recommend this restaurant more highly if I owned it! What a Funky delight! , From the unusual decor to the close seating, and from the creative menu to the superb service, all I can say is BRAVO!!"

"I love Front Porch, but this specific trip was disappointing. The food was hit or miss with items like the steak tartare and the fried chicken arriving delicious while the trout and the salads were disappointing. Th sauce on the trout was too heavy. The noise in the place was so loud that we had to raise our voices just to hear each other. Finally, we ordered two desserts (they sounded great) and both were disappointing. The crust on the pie was a little stale and the chocolate was very granular. They must have had a change in the bakery in the past 6 months. I will go back but on a quieter night and I will stick with the chicken or the burger when it comes to ordering."

"Fun place, not the most amazing food, fried chicken was a little greasier than it needed to be. Greens were flavorful, but a little over cooked. The bacon wrapped dates were fantastic, as were the fried pickles. The cocktails are great, I would definitely go back here for appetizers and drinks in a heartbeat."

"Faves on the dinner menu: the bacon wrapped dates, the dr. pepper braised short ribs, green bean casserole and of course the fried chicken! I have been for brunch and tried some of the morning cocktails which are delicious! The place is just really cute, especially on a day where you can sit on the patio in one of the rocking chairs!"

"We went here with a group of 6 and even though we were 15 minutes late for our reservation, they were happy to seat us promptly upon arrival. I ordered the mac and cheese, which I would not order again as I thought it was way too salty...and I love salt! However, I tried all of my friends dishes and the fried chicken and fried okra were the standouts!"

"Although the food was excellent we had the worst service. The waiter continuously forgot to bring all of our drinks and even charged us for the drinks that we ordered but never received. Not only were we incredibly thirsty but we had to wait over forty five minutes for our food of which we were then rushed to finished because the restaurant was closing. This restaurant is not worth the trek out to Bernal Heights."

"The ambiance conveys an agro-punk slant, and the food is not meant for dieters. But everything was delicious, and they have some great drinks and beers too. If you want to feel like you're a little bit "bad", this place is a great stop."

"Our server made very rude comments to members of our party. I should have picked another place to take my friends from out of town; the service soured the evening."

"This is about your rating system, not the restaurant exactly. Why are the choices for noise: quite, moderate, energetic, or don't remember? How about a choice for too loud! That isn't energetic - it is too noisy for conversation. Thanks,"
