Are you in the mood for Mexican food tonight? How about some Argentinean too? And maybe a little Chilean while we’re at it? Well, now you can get it all at one restaurant – Oficina Latina, a popular Latin American restaurant in New York City's Nolita.
Oficina Latina calls itself a pan-American bistro, and features cuisines from a number of South and Central American countries, including Mexico, Argentina, Ecuador, Chile, Costa Rica and Panama. Best of all, the restaurant organizes its menu by country, so you can pick your dish by destination.
Want a taste of Peru? Try the Ceviche de Calamari y Vieras. Craving Venezuelan? Order the Arepas Mixtas. Cuban food on the brain? Get the Cubano, of course! Oficina Latina has all of these cuisines – and more – and prepares them all well.
The restaurant offers a daily fresh cocktail selection as well, featuring an interesting wine list from the major Latin American regions, and a few beers from Central and South America.
"The food was good, the portions were very small. My husband left hungry. And the service was terrible, we got one wrong dinner, we ate it anyway because te service was so slow. A few people were complaining."

"We waited 45 min even with a reservation, the menu is not the same as before...the choice is very poor, no chips and oil as an appetizer like before. And they opened the front door and windows the entire evening, we were freezing, it was Friday and today I have a cold ! It was better before, too bad I really liked this place..."

"Food was good, but service was fair only because they were constantly trying to clear plates before we were finished with them. It felt like they were rushing to turn over the table even though it was late and there was no one waiting for one."

"Oficina Latina is a good pan-Latin eatery. It's not great. But it's not bad. The drinks, which are variations on the Latino trifecta (margarita, caipirinha, pina colada), were probably the best part of the meal. Made with fresh ingredients and garnished with real (edible) fruit and veggie pieces, the drinks were well made, creative, and tasty. The food was also good, although we only ordered off the tapas menu. Portions are small, but selections were tasty. The drinks are a little expensive at $13+ per, so try to drink them slowly. The ambiance is cool, and the lighting at the bar is great. Fun bartenders too. I would go back, but probably only if my regular haunts are booked."

"We had the Cuban sandwich and the Argentine steak. The sandwich was absolutely amazing, the steak was average (try something else). We will go back again and just do tapas because they have a wide variety of Latin American dishes that we'd like to try. Tables are a bit tight, but the restaurant has great energy and a cool vibe."

"First time here and no doubt going back sooner than later. For the small size of the place, they really pack in a ton of people. This leads to it being a tad noisy and cluttered (had to stand up a few times to let waiters/patrons through to their tables). At the same time, it really added to the whole experience...you're so close to other tables that you start to meet and chat with those dining around you. Also the waiter's get a little confused with so much hustle & bustle (more than once our drink orders were never placed.) That being said, it didn't take away from the experience. This place is awesome and you pretty much HAVE to get a drink with tequila in it (try the spicy margarita) and the tapas = insanely good (get the crab cakes!)"

"The food is excellent. I recommend the ceviche and mussels. Order he avocado habanero margarita. It's their specialty and goes with everything on their menu.
The restaurant is small so you might be seated in a tiny table next to the wall and then service has to reach over other people to serve you. This is the one negative.
But the place is busy and vibrant. Been there several times and never had a bad experience."

"This was my second time to Oficina Latina, and I enjoyed it more than I did the first time. My husband and I ordered a bunch of different Tapa's from the menu, and everything was great! We were concerned that it may not be enough food for us, but we did not leave hungry! The service (by everyone!) was great...and our server even brought over complimentary Blackberry Caipirina's for us to try! They were great! All the cocktails at Oficina Latina were delicious!"
