Saint Ann Restaurant and Bar
Designed by LA-based Shimoda Design Group and Harwood Design Team, Saint Ann Restaurant & Bar is the newest restaurant concept and has the largest garden patio in Dallas. Located next to Saint Ann Court, the historic St. Ann’s School was preserved and converted by Harwood International into a restaurant and bar surrounded by gardens and art. It is open for lunch, dinner, Sunday brunch, and drinks.
The original structure was built in 1927 as Dallas' first school for Hispanic children. In addition to the original structure, Harwood International has preserved the mural of "Our Lady of Guadalupe" and serves as the focal point in the gardens. The first level of the two-story red brick building is Saint Ann Restaurant & Bar and the second level will house The Ann and Gabriel Barbier-Mueller Museum: The Samurai Collection.
Please note that reservations cannot be made for the patio. Patio is first come, first serve.

"Service was good, considering how crowded it was. Fun drink names for their specialty cocktails, but they were a little pricey. Jalapeno Sizzlers were spicy and fresh, and my artichoke flatbread was delicious! I love the atmosphere and outdoor dining. We dined indoors at a conversation-friendly round table, but the doors were open so we had the fresh outdoor air and could hear the music from the live band. It was a fun night!"

"Decided to dine at Saint Ann's since we were attending a nearby reception and because we wanted to try the restaurant. We found the atmosphere very enjoyable, and the food very good with excellent service. The prices were reasonable, except the wine could come down a notch for the type of wine served. We would return."

"My family went to brunch for Mothers Day at Saint Ann's. The ambience was incredible on the patio! The service started out okay, but our waitress seemed a little clueless about what drinks they had to offer. She also seemed to forget about us. With 3 small children, it was a little tough. It was a special mothers day brunch that included entree and dessert. However, she forgot the dessert until I mentioned it when she handed us the check. My kids were restless by this time, so we were not able to stay even longer for the dessert. She refused to get a manager when I asked if she could adjust the check since we were not offered the dessert. There were also several tables that arrived after us and left before us. Very disappointing!"

"First time to Saint Ann's - I've heard about it from a few friends and finally made it out on a Sunday evening (close to closing time). It was a great night out, so we sat out on the patio and it was amazing! Great views of downtown buildings and hung light bulbs really made the environment really special. I will most definitely return for the ambiance and the food! Highly recommend, especially if it is a nice day outside and you can sit out on the patio (there is also a bar outside to enjoy if you aren't eating)."

"This was our first time to Saint Ann Restaurant, and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The ambiance in particular was wonderful, and just a restaurant you like to be at. The guests were made up of a good mix of people, young and old, all seemingly enjoying the evening. The outside area was amazing, and even though we didn't sit outside, it looked very comfortable and was alive with the energy a Friday evening brings. The band outside just added to the fun. Sitting inside was just as nice, as the large windows give you the feeling that you are apart of the outside crowd, as the windows were partially open. We plan to dine there again!"

"Took my wife here for her birthday dinner and when making the reservation I asked if they could do anything special to make our night more memorable, and they went over and beyond and blew away my expectations. The hostess and waitstaff all wished her happy birthday and then the manager came to our table with a complimentary bottle of champagne and glasses and wished her a happy birthday! I have never received such exceptional customer service from a restaurant before."

The best thing about Saint Ann is the beautiful patio an grassy area in the middle of downtown Dallas. Its laid back and just a nice place to hang out and have a few drinks."

"Client lunch at Saint Ann. Opted for the risotto lunch special. Excellent flavor, but really small portions. Really small portions, with no side dishes or bread on the side. We left hungry. But I will return because all the nearby dishes looked fantastic with reasonable portions."

"We were looking for a place to eat in the downtown area, that was off the beaten path and not too crowded for a group gathering. We were lucky to come across this establishment on Open Table. What a find! The food was great and surprisingly fairly priced. You have to try the bacon wrapped chorizo stuffed dates, they are to die for. Wait staff was very attentive and seemed to enjoy working there. The atmosphere was amazing, added bonus is the museum upstairs. Love this place, can't wait to get back to the Dallas area to have another meal with Saint Ann."

"This a very cool restaurant in a great location. We did have a bit of difficulty finding the entrance to the restaurant but once inside it is very nice. The food is very good, as is the service. We had a great bottle of wine. The ambiance is is very open and inviting, however it can get pretty noisy. The one thing that really bugged me was the "no substitutions" rule on the menu. I'm sure that the meals are put together in the best possible combination but I had to rule out a few of the meal choices because I didn't care for the vegetable choice.

"We were pretty disappointed in our Valentine's Day dinner experience at St. Ann's. The fixed menu was extremely limited, and I was told by our server that I could not add a salad or bread to my dinner. Later in the evening I saw another couple who had both salad and bread at their table. The portions were very small, although they did have a nice presentation. The only dessert option was a raspberry souffle - WHAT! No chocolate on Valentine's Day??? That was a major disappointment for me. Also, my husband's souffle was overcooked and mine was runny. We spent $200 on dinner and left feeling hungry and a little aggravated. We probably will not return to St. Ann's - especially not for a special occasion."
