"I've been coming to Indique for years and they are always good. Their menu doesn't change much but you can always find something delicious. I recommend the Vegetable Samosas and anything on their tandoori oven section. My one complaint is that this last time I went (5/2013) they seem to have changed the makeup of their Daal. Before it was a delicious mix of brown lentils and spices but they have changed to a thinner mix of yellow lentils that is not nearly as tasty.
With that small complaint, it is not enough to downgrade them. I will be back again soon."

"Visited based on recommendations of strangers. Menu is quite extensive and took us some some to pick out exactly what we wanted to try. We both stuck with vegetarian (quite easy) and items we had had elsewhere. The uthappan and dosas were much more delicate than I've had elsewhere and the biryani huge and well spiced without the blunt hot. A good range of chutneys from mild to hot to try. Go hungry as we took home two leftover meals from our appetizer/entree combo. As mentioned elsewhere, service is not as attentive as some would, but given my company, I wasn't in a hurry to be interrupted or rushed."

"This proved a good spot for dinner on a Monday evening after seeing "Iron Man 3" at the Uptown Cinema. We liked everything we tried and my girl friend even got a serving of the vegetarian appetizer I got to take home."

"This used to be a first-class Indian restaurant, but it has dropped a notch or two. The food was good, but not great. The decor has gotten shabby, particularly upstairs. I ordered tandoori salmon; the salmon was adequate but dry. We did have very good vegetable samosas as an appetizer. It remains relatively inexpensive, however, so it's still a pretty good value."

"I've been an Indique fan, but my visit last Friday was disappointing. The restaurant has expanded and was crowded. But the quality of food diminished. Salmon sliders dry as a bone; mussels unappetizing looking and again overcooked. I sent them back,was not interested in anything else and did not ask that thy be taken off my bill. I just asked for an order of Paratha to have something to eat. It never arrived.
I'd think three times before going back"

"I used to like this place a lot but had not gone back in a while and was terribly disappointed. We waited for a long time while the restaurant was almost empty, only to get disappointing food that was barely warm. Even after telling the waiter and the manager that our food was barely warm, it came back to our table the same temperature! I am not going back."

With so many Indian restaurnats to choose from, the fact that we drive past several to return to Indique once or twice a month is proof that its our favorite! Having a personal history with authentic and traditional indian dishes from my chidhood in Bombay, I always rely on the attention to the flavors and the presentation of the food and it never gets old."

"The food was fantastic from start to finish. Our waitress wasn't terribly helpful, however, which was disappointing. We asked her for her opinion on two dishes we were considering and she told us which one was healthier. It was off-putting because we weren't interested in what had less fat but which she thought was a better dish. I have never a had a waiter/waitress respond that way and that sort of response has the potential to make diners feel self conscious when they should be enjoying the wonderful food."

Cleveland Park is a lovely DC neighbourhood and at night the lights and surrounding restaurant district makes it a very romantic location for a married couple's date night. "Indique never fails to satisfy my need for tasty, traditional, affordable Indian food. A personal favorite, last night's dinner was it's usual success. I went with a friend and we we each had the pre-theatre option....While it was a great deal of food, we each polished off our selections and left satisfied, full and once again pleased with the restaurant. "While the food was fine and the service was fine...the waitress chose not to return the $9.00 + change that was due back from the cash I paid for the meal. Given that I'd intended to add to the change - she did herself a disservice. Given that she had NO right to determine the amount of tip, if any, that I would choose to leave - and in effect made a decision about my money without my input -she did the restaurant a disserve, as I will not return. This is a small, lovely, quiet restaurant - it was not crowded at all - the wait staff was not busy at all..."

"The food at Indique was just okay. For Indian fair, it was pretty underseasoned and lacked flavor. I am surprised that this restaurant has been included in the Washingtonian's dining guide, because it sorely lacked any pizazz or greatness. "The food was good and the setting, warm and relaxing. Perfect after spending and hour and a half walking around outside at Zoo Lights. We were with another couple and were able to talk easily. Service was friendly and efficient, and the restaurant was super convenient to the Metro -- the transportation of choice for both couples. Very nice."
